Dog-Friendly Home with Wood-Burning Fireplace and Ocean Views - Near the beach

The living room TV would not work for us. Your worker Zachary came over to try and make it work, but the remotes were all screwed up and we could not watch TV in there. They need to replace two lights above the kitchen sink, the hot water heater doesn’t last long enough and the bathroom tub Drain is incredibly slow. Besides that everything is great and the living room furniture is wonderful. I left one of the hairdryers out that you had here because it was busted. The beds were very, very comfortable.

Our whole group had a wonderful stay! We really loved the master room upstairs where we had a bathroom and plenty of accommodating space with our small child. Our favorite feature was definitely the dining room table. Family meals with 6 adults and a toddler at this table and we still had space to spare.

House was clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked including plates and silverware. There are 2 beaches very close and the pier in Charleston was only a few minutes away. We greatly enjoyed our visit!

10 out of 10 stars! The house was very clean and comfortable with plenty of room for all of us including a very rambunctious 5 year old. Loved the yards and the covered deck. It was the best way to regroup after attending my dad's funeral. I will definitely be booking this house again! Thank you for sharing with us!

We were able to comfortably sleep 10 people plus a dog and have enough room so we were able to find privacy as well as great family time. Terrific location near Sunset Bay, Shore Acres, and Charleston. Well insulated so no road noise and lots of safe grassy play area for the kids and dog away from cars. Hiking trail behind the house, but we didn't follow it to its destination. Thank you, hostess!

Our family had a wonderful stay in this property and enjoyed our family time together immensely. The location is beautiful and we were able to visit with dear friends who lived near by.

House was large and plenty of space for adults and kids. Large yard, with an adjacent forest with trails. Across from beach. Close to Sunset Beach, Shore Acres State Park, Cape Arago State Park. Wonderful hiking, beaches here and there, seal and bird watching, and a fabulous formal European garden at the old Sinclair Estate. Nice kitchen, lots of games to play.

Nice house. Needed a house that would provide sleeping accommodations for myself and wife, 2 daughters, and 5 adult grandkids. This house worked out fine. Stayed a week and had a great time!

Perfectly located on Cape Arago highway to enjoy the rugged beauty of the Oregon coast! A short drive to popular beaches such as Sunset and Bastendorff, Shore Acres State Park Gardens, old growth forest trails, Sunset golf course, tidepools, and the beautiful cliffs overlooking the pacific ocean! Its close enough to town to go out for dinner but totally out of the way of all the commotion. Great house for families!

The house was nice with fun areas to enjoy. My family loved the beds and the kitchen was well stocked. My family enjoyed the yard and we tried to find the trail behind the house but could not. I gave this a 4 star because it was a little misleading. Beach access is a 10 minute walk in either direction. We finally asked a neighbor and found out there is public access on Lighthouse Way. Almost at the end of the road, there is a chain link fence and a vinyl fence. There are public stairs between them. The state owns this property and anyone can use the stairs to the beach. It would have been helpful to have directions to the beach in the house. Good beach access is always a priority for us and I felt like we were mislead.

The location was incredible! Close to Cape Arago, Sunset Bay, Shore Acres State Park. The house itself was a great size with older fixtures.

Although it was a stormy weekend, the house was just perfect for our grandchildren and great grands. There were plenty of comfy beds and toys & games for the kids, as well as a well stocked kitchen for cooking. As mentioned, it was extremely windy and rainy but no flashlights or candles were provided in case of a power outage, which thankfully didn’t occur. Communication with the host appeared to be a property management company, and replies were slow and never by the same person. We reported an issue with the drain in the bathtub, and didn’t receive a reply until days after checking out. Despite these minor detractions, we enjoyed this pet friendly home, and would book again.

We travel to this area a lot and this house was lovely. I slept perfectly to the sounds of crashing waves from the cozy bed. Kitchen was fully stocked for all of our cooking and baking. The only downside was that no coffee was provided (minor) and check out is at 10am which is crazy early and not customary.

Great place to get together as a family

We loved the deck space, location with beach/ forest setting. We enjoyed the wood burning stove one chilly evening.

If you want to be right next to the water and the forest at the same time, this house is perfect! There was plenty of room for our large family group of 9. The house has a unique layout (some would say a little odd) with features that definitely make it feel more like a home than a bed & breakfast. The 3 twin/full beds are only accessible by ladder (2 in the dining room loft and one off a down stairs bedroom) which is fun for the kids. There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds downstairs and one king bed upstairs with a beautiful little sitting area to look out over the water. The wrap around deck was perfect to dry out our gear after hitting the waves and the grass area is perfect for lawn games or a dog. Sunset Bay Beach and Yoakam Point are a short walk away and Bastendorf Beach had some great surf. Lighthouse Beach can be reached from the trail to Yoakam Point. Great views of the Cape Arago Lighthouse from there too!
