Cabin on a mountain is great getaway

We had a pleasant stay…the house was warm and cozy…the views were incredible…the house was clean for the most part, I did find a chocolate chip in the living room and a piece of cheese in the kitchen under the butcher block cabinet baseboard. The instructions for trash was confusing…in order to put it in the outer trash bin you needed blue/purple Franconia bags but there weren’t any and the stores only sold packages of multiple bags My main issue is the listing was misleading…in the pictures of the house and property…there was a picture of the house across the street and none of the actual house…we were under the impression that the entry to the house was at street level…we definitely were Not expecting the steep uneven stairs to the entry way…it was a little hairy for my 89 yr old mother to go up and down those stairs

The location was great - right around the corner from Echo Lake, close to many trails, 15 minutes from Lincoln. The view was PHENOMENAL - sunset over the mountain every evening. New kitchen appliances were a nice amenity, and was stocked with all the tools you could need to cook a meal (kitchen tools are all pretty used but they're there!) Fairly private spot, but not secluded by any means.This didnt bother is much, but its an older property without many updates at all. It is charming and big enough for the whole family. The front screen door has no handle, the window screens are ripped, some windows do not open at all. Furniture is very vintage but the couches are SO comfortable and the dining table seats 8. TVs in the great room, bunk room, and 1 bedroom. Internet is not high speed, but good service. There is no yard.There is a broken shower door upstairs. The porch is in need of repair. The grill was too dirty to use. Many of the linens stained. Some lightbulbs need replacing. Fireplace was out of order.We arrived late afternoon to no running water, and attempts for resolution were futile until late the following morning. We woke up every morning at 530 to construction right outside our window that we were not informed of, and were trapped or blocked out of the property a few times as they were digging up the road.Also note - this property is on a resort with many other vacation homes, which surprised us.

home is located within 9 miles of grocery store. very close to all the sites to see in the mountains. Would deffently rent again in the future.

It is a bit on the cottage side and needs a little fixing up but what a wonderful stay. I would go back in a minute.

We love this area and this house has always accommodated our family when we rent here. So local to do many beautiful spots. The house it’s plenty big with plenty of rooms. Has two decks and living room areas with amazing views. Big dining room table as well to be able to eat dinner with everyone in the family! Plenty of extra blankets,pillows, sheets as well if needed.

The location of this property was centrally located to MANY trail heads in the area. The price was right but the property itself is extremely dated and needs some serious TLC. The deck; which has a fantastic view of the mountains and sunsets is rotting and the slider needs replacing. The grill also needs to be replaced. If you just need a cheap place to rest your head after a day of hiking then this might be the property for you.

I took my daughter on a weekend hiking trip and wanted t be close to the trail heads in Franconia. This a spot fit the bill. It was a quick car ride to the trailheads which is important during peak season as the lots fill up so quick. The house had a wonderful updated kitchen with a lot of charm throughout the house. The living room was very comfortable, with a big deck with nice views of the foliage. There was only 2 of us but overall plenty of room for more.
