Rocks Cabin is a unique, rustic home located on a one-acre private beachfront lot and is in a gated community. Situated 50 feet above sea level, the home is approximately 200 feet from the sand dunes, affording a great perch and unobstructed view of the beach, surf, and ocean sights. Described as a botanical paradise with completely native old-growth vegetation, including false Lily of the Valley, Indian Celery, various types of rainforest ferns, flowers, and native plants. Tucked in the old-growth Sitka Spruce Conifers, privacy is optimum. This home is an ideal spot for bird-watching, and winter storm-watching is incredible! The roar of the surf can be amazing, even from inside the cabin.

The cabin itself is rustic in decor, with a wood-burning fireplace. Electric heat is also available to ensure your comfort. The downstairs bedroom has a king bed. A ladder with a handrail takes you to the loft area, which offers two twin beds. The ladder has a 300 lb. weight limit.

Motor vehicles are prohibited on the beach in front of the Rocks cabin from April 15 to Sept 1. Vehicle traffic is light the rest of the year (except during razor clan openings) because the only automobile beach access is up at Roosevelt Beach (north on Highway 109- about 4 miles). After you drive your vehicle on to the beach at the Roosevelt access road, you continue south on the open sand to reach the Rocks cabin beach. You have to ford the Iron Springs River. This can be difficult (and dangerous) if the river water levels are high or the tide is high. Many people choose to turn around here, rather than continue south to the beach in front of the Rocks cabin. The two mile stretch of beach from the Rocks cabin north to the Iron Springs River is one of the finest walking beaches on the North Coast. It is also the spot where prominent rock outcroppings with tide pools begin and continue off and on all the way north to Cape Flattery near Neah Bay. There are no rock outcroppings to the south of Copalis Beach – all the way to the Columbia River. So if you want to explore coastal tide pools, this is the place where it begins! The beach south of the cabin continues to the mouth of the Copalis River – also a great place to explore. Even in the height of summer, you may find you have these two beaches all to yourself!

The beach in front of the cabin is also the only designated light airplane airstrip on the entire Pacific Coast, so get ready for airway commuters to drop in for a morning spring razor clam dig. Gray whales migrate by Copalis in April/May and Oct/Nov. The blows can be seen with the naked eye from the cabin, but bring binoculars to get better views.

The well-maintained private path to the beach is utterly delightful! Take a nice stroll through towering trees and blossoming vegetation with seasonal babbling brooks. You are just over five miles from the quaint town of Pacific Beach to the north, about 45 minutes from Lake Quinault and its beautiful trails through the rainforest, and a short drive to Ocean Shores, where you will find the Casino, many restaurants, and activities for the kids.

Recent Home Updates

The cabin was remodeled in 2024 and 2025. In 2024, the entire front wall including the windows, both front and back doors, and most of the front deck were replaced. We expanded the dining room and added an all new kitchen with modern cabinets, sink, countertop and dishwasher. All three beds and bed frames were replaced as well as the living room couches. The wood stove and all the electric baseboard heaters were replaced. The loft was repainted and new vinyl flooring installed. The access loft ladder was replaced. The driveway access was redone so it’s easier to get in and out. In 2025, the bathroom was remodeled. The tub/shower, toilet, vanity, frosted window, medicine cabinet, ceiling fan/light and shelving were all renewed. A hood fan above the kitchen stove, under kitchen cabinet lighting and a nice bright chandelier above the dining room table were also added. Lastly, we added a new cell phone booster. Prior to this addition it was dificult to have enough cell reception to make a call from inside the cabin. The signal was usually 1 bar or less because the cell tower is to the east of Ocean Shores. The new booster delivers 2-4 bars and works for most carriers. If you have unlimited data, you can also create a hot spot for internet access. Enjoy all the cabin improvements!

Cleaning person was an hour late getting the house ready for our arrival. Sofa was a little soft & the TV didn’t have very good options to watch plus there was no Wi-Fi.

The cabin was very cozy and clean. We had a fantastic stay and the doggies did too! The walk down the trail path to the ocean was relatively easy. Great time and will probably book this again soon for a summer time getaway.

Great views on a great stretch of walkable beach. My friend and I stayed with my dog for two nights in September. The private path/walk down to the beach was great. The beach itself is close enough to Copalis Rock which had star fish and anemones and sand dollars littered the beach. The views from the house were great. The downstairs main bed was very soft. Extra blankets were provided which we used for stargazing from the deck. Great place to tuck in and never leave or go explore. For dog owners - they had a great rinsing hose out front by the driveway with enough water pressure to rinse the sand.

We had a great visit to this cabin. Check in was a breeze, with that info being sent to us the evening prior to check in. The bedroom was very comfortable, and the quick walk to the beach was great! There is no Wi-Fi, which is mentioned in the listing, the cell phone booster secondly helps.

Rocks Cabin was the perfect place to celebrate a quiet & cozy birthday. The location was great and the beach views are amazing. Watching a couple early spring storms roll in, snuggled up by the wood stove, with a glass of wine and a good book was just how I wanted to celebrate. And my doggo loved walking down to the beach to investigate all the good beachy smells. Thanks for making sure we had a doggo specific towel too ( for after he took a little splash in a mud puddle!) I will 100% be coming back!

We loved staying here. The view, the big deck, and the private trail down to what felt like our own private beach were highlights!! We thoroughly loved the peace and solitude and beauty of the views and the beach. We enjoyed the warm coziness of the cabin. We had everything we needed for a beautiful vacation away from the city.

Felt relaxed and away from it all for two nights at Rocks Cabin. It is as secluded, quiet, serene as the pictures indicate. One sunny beach day followed by a rainy day spent mostly in the cabin with a few small excursions down the path through the forest to the beach. We went to a local grocery (there are a few options in both directions) the first day and grilled on the porch and cooked in the cabin for the entirety of our 2 night stay. The kitchen and it's implements are limited but sufficient. We picked up (cheap) fire wood nearby as it is for sale all over the place and kept the woodstove going and watched a few VHS tapes (Fargo, Best in Show, Dumb and Dumber) during our second day, enjoying the rain and fog outside from a cozy distance. The beds were all super comfy and appointed with hand-made quilts. I (34 year old male) slept in the loft! The ladder up is pretty easy to maneuver but may not be suitable for some, little kids included. This stopover on the coast was in the middle of a 12 day PNW roadtrip and was absolutely one of the highlights.

Such a beautiful, peaceful rustic cabin with lots of privacy, a great view and sounds of the Pacific Ocean in a gated community. We love the open floor plan, wood beamed ceilings, wood floors, lots of west-facing windows, the free-standing fireplace, comfortable furnishings and a private deck for barbecuing, sun-bathing, reading and just relaxing. We didn't mind the stairs and path to the beach, but it might be difficult for some. Short drive to a community grocery store and the Green Lantern pub. If you are looking for a shiny, modern, high-tech place or lots of social activity - this is not the place for you. We plan to be back as often as we can!

This rustic basically one room cabin is very cute and the setting is amazing. It was a wonderful experience to be so close to a quiet section of a beach. Unfortunately the owners sold out to a bad property management company Vacasa. It is very hard to find the cabin and we were at the end of the trail after a long day of driving at somebody else's cabin. We called Vacasa but they were no help in getting instructions so we had to drive around steep narrow roads until we found the cabin. Once inside it was nice, the one bedroom has large opening to the main room with only a curtain hanging there so it is not really a room to separate loud sleepers to allow others quiet. Some of the dishes were dirty forcing us to clean before use and there was not enough dishwasher soap keep up so we had to do dishes by hand. The view and deck were very nice and we enjoyed many trips to the beach. Once back in the cabin and time to clean up the shower did not work. Another call to Vascasa resulted in nothing more promise that a ticket was put in to the local crew and we would be contacted soon. We were never contacted and had to take baths. The log book and story of the house are all wonderful and it is nice place with good working heaters and plenty of blankets for that rustic feel but much of that is lost by a horrible management company such as Vacasa. Going forward I will never rent a place managed by Vacasa again, this place has so much potential if only it were maintained.

This is an older cabin with an awesome view. Big South West facing windows and deck make for a nice bright space. The beach is great, with limited vehicle traffic.
