Detached Cottage In Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, one mile from beach

It was a lovely cottage! We stayed for 26 nights! If your looking for a quiet place then this is for you!

Loved our weeks stay at the cottage!We found it very quiet which is what we like!The fenced garden was ideal for our little dog!Looking forward in staying in January 2026 for 26 nights!

We did enjoy our stay and there were many positives eg bathrooms and bedrooms to support family needs. It was great to be able to talk and cook. The enclosed back garden was just right for our dog. Books and jigsaws greatly enjoyed by grandson. On the negative side was the soiled pants in a drawer in the games room :( My husband and I slept downstairs and on a few nights were disturbed by the noise of guests arriving / going out in the B and B next door. The spot lights were activated lighting the room brightly and setting the dog off in fits of barking! Lounge space was … tight. Didn’t appreciate / consider the settee sizes and floor area available when looking at photos. Thank you

Nice house in a really quiet area comfortable and clean .

Overall, an excellent property in a great location. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is that the sofas were small and uncomfortable. The rest of the house and garden were perfect for our needs. The rooks were very entertaining building their nests and squabbling over twigs. We would definitely return.Thank you Julia.

Very comfortable and spacious property. In a great location to explore the many lovely beaches in the area.In need of some re decorating in places.

Pleasant enough accommodation. Nice and warm and fairly well equipped for a family of 4. Close to all the best beaches so location is good. All in all you get what you pay for.

If you’re looking for a great base for exploring the area, I can thoroughly recommend this cottage. Had everything we needed for a fantastic new year week. Warm and cozy! A well equipped kitchen, very comfy beds, perfect open plan kitchen, diner and lounge. Had everything we needed. Great VFM!!

A lovely cottage, great location, can highly recommend.

Cottage was very nice ,had all amenities listed aesy to access. Found had an issue which was resolved staight away by host . Neighbours were very pleasant and helpful Ideal f

The property was nice and the kitchen well equipped (except for only one 1 pint glass!) the beds were very comfortable. The downstairs bedroom and walk in shower were appropriate for me as I can walk a few steps and the shower entry was low. The owner sent a nice greeting and although we didn’t need to I felt we could have contacted her again easily if necessary

The property had everything that we needed for a relaxing week. There was loads of space for 4 adults and a dog and the garden was secure. Amazing beaches not far away. We love Barafundle Bay beach and we enjoyed our visit to the Bosherston Lily Ponds, Caldey Island and Dobby's grave at Freshwater West. We did walk to Freshwater East which took just over 30 minutes and was a very steep walk down to the beach but a lovely beach. I did contact Julia while we were there and she responded very quickly. The property is a great place to stay.

Great location, lovely 30 min walk on the coast path to Freshwater East, lots to see and visit in the area for all ages. The accommodation was comfortable and had all the amenities required, the bonus being a fully enclosed garden, safe for dogs and children. We all had a very enjoyable holiday.

Perfect for a relaxing holiday in a great location. Loads of dog friendly beaches within a short distance and all amenities within a few miles in Pembroke. Comms with the host was excellent and the property has everything you will need.

We had a lovely week at Rooks Retreat - even got used to the rasping rooks! Wasn’t as close to Freshwater East as we hoped. It is possible to walk (up the lane from the cottage) towards Freshwater Inn, but there are some very steep steps to negotiate down onto the beach, takes about 45 minutes. The cottage is great, cosy & well equipped. The weather was so good we enjoyed sitting in the garden in the afternoon sun. Easy to make the cottage warm on those couple of cooler evenings. All in all a very enjoyable week.

,An excellent base for exploring many wonderful places in West Wales. A clean, and comfortable cottage with everything needed for a lovely stay. A safe secure garden for dogs Would definitely book a stay there again. Thank you Julia for loaning us your cottage for the week
