Designer Cottage +Guesthouse on large private estate in Grand Beach with Hot Tub

Proceed with caution if you are considering booking this property. My husband rented this property for the weekend to celebrate my 60th birthday with our adult children. The plan was to have a special dinner on Saturday evening at the house. On Saturday morning, sewage started backing up in the shower. We had to use the beach towels we brought from home to slow the seepage from spreading outside of the bathroom. Needless to say, our towels went directly in the trash. While the plumbing was fixed a little after 6PM, the house smelled like sewage and the floor needed to be sanitized. We could not have our celebration and needed to travel back home rather than stay until Sunday as planned. Our family had treated the facilities respectfully and the plumber told us the problem had probably started weeks prior to our visit. The owner blamed our family for causing the plumbing issue. We are 100% confident we did not cause the problem. The owner refunded none of our fees and thought we should be grateful he didn’t charge us for the plumbing bill. We have stayed in several other VRBOs over the years and have been treated graciously by the owners. I recommend you rent from one of those gracious owners rather than the owner of this property.

Lots to do. We enjoyed the hot tub, the golf cart, and the fire pit. The neighborhood was quiet, scenic and the nearby playground, with a zip line, was a hit with our 10 year old grandson. The short drive to New Buffalo offered us the opportunity to enjoy local restaurants. The dunes, the hikes and the shore line were all enjoyed. And we have never seen so many wonderful deer. We had hoped to use the bikes in the garage, but did not have time. Would definitely select this house again.

The property is located in a beautiful woodland. We were a close walk to the beach. I would highly recommend staying here again.

We loved our time at this property! The home was clean and clearly recently remodeled with thoughtful upgrades throughout. The location is ideal, close to everything we wanted to do and the screened-in porch was the absolute highlight, we spent hours in the evening out there without worrying about bugs.That said, a few things could make the experience even better. Communication from the host could be improved; it would have helped to have clearer, easier access to check-out instructions. Thankfully we didn't need anything besides checkout instructions while we were there because we messaged 2x and never heard back. Additionally, the house had a very damp, moist feel, which might benefit from a few dehumidifiers.Overall, though, the home’s cleanliness, stylish remodel, and fantastic porch made for a wonderful stay. We’d happily return once those minor issues are addressed.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The house was very nice and we loved the setting. The back yard was perfect with the fire pit area, hot tub and twinkle lights and our toddler had fun on the swing set. The screen porch was perfect for hanging out and playing games. The guest house was a nice plus to have a separate space for the kids. Loved having the golft cart to get to the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

It wasn’t as clean as in years past. Washer/dryer didn’t work , so we had to use a laundromat. Not enough towels or washcloths. No baking sheet. No shampoo or conditioner.

We had a nice stay and the property provided plenty of beach chairs and toys for the kids for the beach. We especially enjoyed the screened porch.

Great location for beach goers. Quiet neighborhood and good outdoor space. Guesthouse is a bonus!!

This property quickly became one of our favorites. Both units were very clean, modern, and decorated beautifully. We loved the location and thoughtfulness behind all amenities. We will definitely be returning.

Over all stay was great.. we did have an issu of one of the doors not locking at night. I 2as over all clean, some spring cleaning could be done..ceiling fans etc. Communication could be better.. had to ask for check in info a few times before a replying.. bonus there wasnt a huge clean up list, after paying a cleaning fee!!

The home, property, and location were amazing! It was so peaceful! Everything was very nice and the home was well furnished. I loved my stay and hope to come back!

It was disgusting. The hot tub looked as if it had not been cleaned in months. We contacted the property manager to inquire about getting it cleaned. The next day, they responded and had someone there to clean it. Whoever did the cleaning did a terrible job. We got in and things started floating around that looked like algae. We got out and did not get back in. Very disappointing as the hot tub was our main attraction to this home.

This beautiful spot is tucked in a very cute neighborhood and was set up perfectly for our family of 8 including a very nice guest house. We loved everything about this house including the large outdoor swing and seating area. Would definitely stay again.

The main house and guest house are just decorated gorgeously. High end and so comfortable! Relaxing wooded lot a short walk from the beach and short drive to all the fun restaurants, shops, breweries in new Buffalo and surrounding. We wished it was a little warmer during our stay but we’re thankful for the fireplace, outdoor fire pit and hot tub. Tons of seating indoors and out. Will definitely stay again!

This was a great house, very cozy and homey. It had everything we needed and was nice and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Our group had a blast!

Cool house for a long weekend away from Chicago. The properties literally right next to the IN border which made keeping time a little harder. The property was great for a get away with a big group. There are bikes, a golf cart and lots of other things that make getting to the beach easy.

House and guest house was perfect for our group. Large, private yard, fully stocked kitchen, and designer finishes. Host was very responsive and accommodating.

Everything from the location, decor, cleanliness, and communication with the property owner was perfect for a short getaway with the family! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, the beds & couches were super comfortable, and we all enjoyed hanging out in the beautiful back yard and hot tub. 10/10 recommend!
