Del Mar artistic vision, sea views, private pool and spa

Great place for our 2 families with lots of kids and teens. We loved the pool and the local town and beaches. The kitchen and big stove were great for all the family meals we had. Lots of different rooms and levels for everyone to have their own space. Great for the different sleeping times, working remote, and kid TV time that came up for our group. Would definitely return.

This was the perfect spot for our crew! close to beautiful beaches and restaurants. The house was so cool, and the kids loved the pool! Our host was very responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We hope to return!

We are a men's college golf team and played an event at Torrey Pines. David's property is located in Del Mar, about 5 miles from the course so the location was perfect; quiet, comfortable and relaxing all at the same time. We'll hopefully be back next year!

Warm pool, good location, unique design

Fabulous!!! Spectacular!!! Our last minute stay was perfect. The location is amazing and was close to our favorite Del Mar restaurants, beach, and hikes. It was also 1 block from our son's home so it was perfect. The details and decorations are stunning and the artistic vibe was a blast. We totally enjoyed the back deck, pool, and hot tub. We can't wait to stay here again soon!

Very clean and the home was just as described. Easy checkin and checkout. Very comfortable and it had everything we needed.

A great place for a big family to gather! We were three couples and an individual and had plenty of room. We spent lots of time in the pool, hot tub and backyard. This is a uniquely decorated home with beautiful, personal touches - fabulous art and books. The large kitchen and living area were perfect for our group. The only disappointment was the room with all the twin beds. It’s an attic with a tiny entry accessed by a ladder. Not good for adults! Overall, a wonderful place for us to stay!

This was a quintessential stay in a wonderful neighborhood. The home was a perfect setting for building our family vacation memories.

Great location and amenities. Clean pool. Quiet neighborhood. Lots of stairs, not great choice for older people or very young kids. Outdoor Grill was out of propane. Would happily stay again!

Great location , fun layout , quiet neighborhood, walk to beach . Pool / jacuzzi was a great option in afternoon and early evening .

A great lication

Check in was very easy but we were disappointed to realize there was no AC, had to use 2 fans to stay cool, the floors were very dirty, our feet were black from walking around the kitchen, one cabinet was broken, the carbon monoxide detector was beeping and we had to find it, one bottle of conditioner. We had hoped for a better stay.

What a great, cozy house. Perfect location too. If we ever go back, we'll definitely rent it again.

Many levels so our 3 families with 7 kids could find places to play. Pool was enjoyed many times. Lots of supplies available. Easy access from interstate.

I was attending a conference at The Lodge at Torrey Pines and brought the family along for a vacay. This home was perfect for our needs! David was readily available when I had any questions and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

So peaceful and great location!

Our grandson graduated from SDSU. We needed a home large enough to accommodate several adults comfortably. This definitely did!The pool and hot tub were a hit. Lots of indoor room to spread out. And coffee on the deck was lovely!David was very responsive.

Friends came down for the weekend for the Belgian Waffle Ride. Great weekend. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Great location near downtown.

We traveled to Del Mar, CA from Wisconsin and Oregon for a family reunion and spring break. There were 11 of us in total, 6 adults, 2 teens, and little ones ages 5, 3 and 1 years old. The house was as described with many rooms and amenities to accommodate our group. We all enjoyed exploring the house and discovering the many fun places to enjoy. David was very resourceful, available and answered our questions. Check in and check out was seamless and the instructions in the home were very helpful. The house was well equipped with numerous towels, pillows, blankets and items for the baby (crib and high chair). We prepared several meals and spent much time together playing games, cards, puzzles and just hanging out. The pool was amazing, as well as the attached hot tub. We loved both and enjoyed them every day! I'd highly recommend this rental in Del Mar - walking distance to the beach and to the downtown area with shops and restaurants.

We had a nice stay while in town for a soccer tournament. We were three sets of father-sons and had plenty of room; we didn't even need the loft. The pool was a nice temperature even in February, and the hot tub heated up quickly. We would definitely stay again and maybe bring the extended families next time. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful 5-day stay. The house is unimaginably large with many places to be, though we all hung out in the same room. I loved journaling in the cozy windowseat of the master bedroom. Book lovers will admire the huge collection on offer, including a whole shelf on Japan and its language! The neighborhood was quiet at all times, and New Year's Even fireworks were fairly muffled and infrequent (but still disturbed our dog). We were amazed that the house was very close to both the freeway and the main street of the town, plus a great shopping center (Del Mar Highlands) that had more restaurants. The host was quite helpful in his communications.

We loved staying at the house-enjoyed the pool deck area and living room. Rooms separated and quiet. Lots of rules, but reasonable when actually implemented.

We arrived quite late to the property and it was very dark. The description of where to park and how to get in was perfect that even in the dark, driving in a city I haven’t driven in, I found this place no problem. House was comfortable for my family of 6, with many spare beds we didn’t use. The younger 2 loved the loft bedroom area, and the older 2 loved the many books they could read that were all over the house. The pool was great for all of us, and although a little cold (it was fall after all), it was still very swimable. And the hot tub heated up very fast as well. Lots of people complained about the “too many rules” and “to many instruction sheets around the house”. Personally I liked the rules. It showed me the owner cared about the property and that it would be in good shape. Which it was. And if there was something we weren’t sure how it worked, we could easily look at the sheets. If we didn’t need them, we didn’t look at them….. The best part of the home, was the location. I’d never been to or heard of Del Mar before, but we could walk to the beach (was a good but my family likes a good hike) and we were a 5 minutes drive from 2 great beaches, and lots restaurants and shopping. Also 20-30 minutes from downtown (zoo, USS midway, etc). We spent a lot of time in Del Mar, hitting the farmers market, and walking the Main Street. Although the area is very pricey for these things, it was a great vibe. People were all happy and in a good mood everywhere we went.

Cozy stay, comfortable beds, nice pool. I would say it’s a sizable deposit in addition to the nightly fee and a bit strict on the rules by the owner due to it being a home the owner lives in… that said it was a nice stay.

Great location but way too many placards telling us how to do or use something. There was a laminated sheet in almost every room of the house. I can understand the noise issues as the pool is 5 feet from the neighbors house. The futon is only suitable for a child of 100 lbs and the loft is very difficult for any child over 12. The study bed is also very soft and not meant for anyone over 100 lbs. great stay but know that there are plenty of rules and the home needs some upgrades to command the price but then again the owner lives in it part time.

The home is large enough to accomodate families, we had 5 adults and 5 children aged 15 down to 4; and the pool and spa were great for kids. The only drawback was the heavy traffic out front. Del Mar beach park is a grest place to take kids but very hard to find parking.

Our three-generation extended family of ten had a most wonderful time at this home in Del Mar. The owner responded immediately by text to all our questions. He was most helpful in informing us about the various restaurants and shops in the area. Our teenage granddaughters enjoyed the lap pool every day. We didn’t cook any dinners at the house, but the kitchen was well-supplied. Because of the spaciousness, each of us also enjoyed solo time for reading or online activities. The house may be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues, but otherwise, suitable for large families. Given the opportunity, we would definitely hold our family reunion there again.
