Stayed May 28, 2026We stayed at Deer Run Lodge for our son’s graduation from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and it was fantastic! Our family group was large and we enjoyed every one of the amenities at Deer Run. We soaked up the beauty of the property by having most meals on the large patio. The interior of the home is lovely and we all felt comfortable, except for some unusual step downs into some of the rooms. The home is only 10 minutes from Rose, but it should be noted it is in a very rural location. We would definitely stay here again with a large group. Very fun!

Stayed May 15, 2026The host responded immediately whenever we had issues, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the property itself was extremely dirty upon arrival and appeared very poorly maintained. We experienced multiple problems during our stay, including overflowing trash in cans, the oven not working and the hot water not working. To the host’s credit, they did come and fix those issues quickly. However, the home lacked even basic amenities. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers were mounted in the showers but all were empty. There was no hand soap or bath mats in the bathrooms. The sheets were cheap, mismatched, and some appeared stained. Some pillows only had protectors on them and no cases. The beds looked hastily put together and were not inviting at all. There was even hair left inside drawers, dust everywhere and cobwebs throughout which made the cleanliness feel very questionable. The overall condition of the property felt neglected, living room furniture was awkwardly pushed against the walls, several light bulbs were out, missing cabinet pulls, air vents hanging from the cieling and there were junk & construction materials left in closets. The game garage was a nice feature, but it also had clearly not been cleaned before our arrival. The property has so much potential, but it really needs some TLC, better cleaning, and effort to make it feel more appealing and welcoming for guests before we could recommend staying here.

Stayed Apr 6, 2026A fun stay with some highlights and a few caveats depending on who you're traveling with. The kids (ages 5–10) absolutely loved it — the pool, game room, and garage kept them entertained the entire trip. For families with young children, those amenities alone make it worth it.For the adults, it was more of a mixed experience. The house is quirky and the bathrooms are noticeably outdated, which wasn't a dealbreaker but did affect the overall comfort level. The space has real potential and feels like it could be a standout property with some updates. One definite bright spot: the host was super responsive and easy to communicate with throughout our stay.Overall, a solid choice for a kid-focused trip — just go in with realistic expectations on the adult amenities side.

Stayed Jan 3, 2026Deer Run Lodge - Terre Haute, Indiana - FABULOUS. Our family of 8 adults spent two nights at the Deer Run Lodge. From the beautiful decor to the pool, hot tub, sauna and fire pit, we wish we would have stayed longer. As the mom and planner, I was 100% pleased with clean accommodations - quality beds, bedding, and furniture are a must. The grounds were beautiful with a bridge, creek and pond for great photos. Plus the location was serene but close enough to Terre Haute for grocery delivery and Door Dash. :) We were so happy with our stay, we are planning our next family getaways at other Terra2 locations.

Stayed Nov 15, 2025Gorgeous house for our XC weekend in IN! The kitchen was extremely well stocked and perfect for cooking a full team dinner. The range was a little tricky at first, but once we found the burner diagram on the back of the top left cabinet, it was smooth sailing. All of the rooms were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. My crew especially loved the indoor pool, it was such a fun bonus! The WiFi was quite slow and wouldn’t load any streaming services for our movie night, though we were able to get creative with a non-Apple device and an HDMI cord. We also had some issues with the heat staying on even after turning off the thermostats, but Tom was extremely responsive and helpful behind the scenes. We knew this was a new listing going into our stay, and we were happy to be the “guinea pigs” to help identify a few bumps. The host was receptive to all feedback and eager to improve. We’re already planning to re-book for next year- my team is still talking about how much fun they had!
