Darling Beach Cottage Off Pierpont - 1/2 Block from Sand

This home was exactly what we needed! The house was perfect for us and the yard was perfect for our dog! Thank you!

Beach hang out

The house fit our needs. It was close to Marina park and the beach, which my family loved. However, the beds in the children’s room had sand in and on them. Not sure when they had last been changed.

The house was wonderful, 1/2 a block from the beach, close to downtown Ventura, sleeps 6 adults easily, 8 or more with kids. Big back yard for outdoor dining and lots of beach chairs and toys plus 2 bikes to cruse around town with (bring you own bike locks). Also, lots of seasonings and oils to cook with. We had a delightful time The host, Christina was delightful and quick to respond to any questions we had.

The house was comfortable and clean, and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy a family week at the beach. Location was perfect - close to the beach, playground, park, groceries, and Pierpont restaurants.

A comfortable and friendly neighborhood. The stretch of beach that is a half block is lovely and appears to be a locals spot. The kitchen is very well appointed. Not sure how it would be in heat...no a/c was needed during my stay. Host did not communicate throughout the stay out afterward.

I would live here if I could. We loved this home that was 1/2 block to the beach. It is the ideal beach house. It has everything a beach house shoukd have, plus charm. Bicycles, beach toys, outside eating area, plus a direplace for chilly evenings.

We enjoyed our stay. Someone in a previous review mentioned a soft bed. The bed was soft, but once we slept in it, we LOVED it. We both have issues with our backs and that soft bed fixed them. We will be changing mattresses when we get home. The lane we stayed on was lovely…the neighbors were so friendly. We loved the proximity to the beach.

Loaded with beach equipment and toys! Quick walk to beach. Our kindergartner still talks about how much he loved staying there and can’t wait to go back!

The property was perfectly dog friendly with a large front and back yard and right down the street from the beach. The neighborhood was just what you would expect from a beach town. Very enjoyable stay.

This house was such a wonderful little gem. Some things I would have liked to have known before visiting: Bring your own pet supplies, there are none. The front gate does not close. It will blow right back open so your dog is not secure. You will need to take something to wedge it closed to keep your kids and dog in. There are plenty of beach chairs (probably 10) and toys, a wagon, a couple of beach umbrellas, and even a little cooler bag. You won’t mind the walk to the beach. It’s very close! But you will mind dragging all the supplies up and down the steps and then carrying that wagon separately. The beach is not crowded at all. On cooler days, we had it 90% to ourselves! Dogs are everywhere on the beach in the mornings/evenings. A lot are off leash. They were all very well behaved though. There is a lot of construction going on around that street. It wasn’t quiet and workers were kinda everywhere the whole time. The master bedroom bed Needs replaced desperately. I couldn’t even sit on the end of it. The other beds were firm. My son slept on the couch because of it. Bring your own laundry basket. There are none. And no shampoo/body wash, etc.

This is a small bungalow in the middle of paradise. Most important, they allowed our family dog for our weeklong stay. The only negative is the very small bathroom with an awkward layout. We appreciated an affordable place, close to the ocean and everything we love about Ventura.

Have stayed before and really enjoyed it! Again, great place, has everything you need to have fun close to the beach. Was a little hot this time but utilized the several portable fans to cool off the house as the sun went down and kept on at night. We will back!

It was even closer to the beach than I expected! And the beach is always uncrowded because the access is like neighborhood only so it feels like a private beach. You do have to climb stairs to access the beach so that meant unloading the wagon and carrying gear up the stairs but that wasn’t a problem for us. We loved the property and the neighborhood. The beds are so comfy! (The master bed at least in my personal experience was pillowtop soft). The garage is full of fun stuff and the kitchen had everything we needed. Washer/dryer is a lifesaver and they even provide the detergent which is rare. We would definitely rent again!
