Dad's Legacy - Second Row in Surfside Beach

The location of the house was great. There are two beach accesses nearby. The house is spacious with plenty of room to eat, hang out, and relax. The check-in process was a bit odd, the morning of our check-in I realized that only a portion of the rental cost was charged through VRBO, I had to login to a separate Dunes Realty portal to pay a balance before I was given a door code. The cleaning service could use some help. There was plenty of sand on the floors, carpets had not been vacuumed and all rooms had bits of debris throughout them, including dead bugs. A glass with beer in it was found beneath a bathroom sink. The home has an elevator, which you’ll need to go get a key from the office to operate. That directive was never provided, we had to call and get them to locate a key for us. At 1am we discovered a bat flying through the upstairs hallway. No outside windows or doors had been opened in the upper level. We got the bat out of the home and shared with the realty office that there could be more - the office personnel didn’t seem to be concerned. Ants were on kitchen counters and various other bugs on the main level. The mattresses are old and sag to the ground. Again lots of trash and dirt beneath the beds. The house has great potential if Dunes Realty would step up in several areas here.

Great location and clean facility.

House is spacious with a good floor plan. Could have been cleaner. Grass around pool was knee high and no response when we asked for it to be cut. Coffee table is unstable. Kitchen was well stocked. Great location with easy access to beach. Elevator was a little tricky to get into on ground floor. Overall pleased.

We had our week planned out and did NOT want to waste our time calling Dunes Realty, but had to twice. The floors had sand, hair, cans, bottles, puzzle pieces in different areas of this house. Shower curtain was pure nasty in one bathroom! It was clear the only thing the so called cleaners did was put sheets on the beds. The 2 rugs in the entry and living area were dirty, sandy and torn, which several of us tripped on it and was thankful we didn't fall. The pool was dirty and sandy! The little dirt and grass area was not taken care of, the grass needed cutting, there was pool things thrown around in the yard. The table had a razor, sand, and shells on it when we arrived. There was a problem with the air conditioning, we had to call. The person at Dunes transferred me to maintenance, gave the lady the name of the property and was trying to give her the address, and she was quick to say....I know the address in a not so nice attitude. This property needs a real good cleaning!!

Did not like this property. It was filthy. Dead roach bugs in floor in living room and under beds. Empty gatorade bottles in bedroom. Mildew on bathroom shower curtain; kitchen range had food that had not been wiped up. Master bathroom had nasty commode at bottom and shower floor had not been cleaned. Master bedspread had 3 large dirty spots on it. No measuring cups in kitchen and frying pans were old.

My whole family loved the house, we had plenty of room for everyone and the location was great! The elevator and first floor bathroom was very helpful for my parents!!

Lots of space, good layout for multi-generation stay.

It was amazing! Spacious beautiful view of ocean off balcony. Short walk across road to beach! Big bedrooms!
