Dad’s Garage proved to be an amazing base for our winter get-away in Upper Michigan. Ten minutes (or less) to everything - Wolverine XC Ski Trails, ABR Foundation, Big Powderhorn - and even an impromptu drive to Lake Superior! Lori has thought of every detail to make Dad’s Garage perfect, from towels (and hooks) in the bathroom and near the sauna, cozy throws and an instant electric fireplace, to fun “service station” decor and a well stocked kitchen. This place is perfect in every way. Thank you, Lori, for excellent communications, five-star comfort and pristine accommodations! We’d highly recommend Dad’s Garage to anyone visiting the area!

Our host, Lori, was welcoming and Dad's Garage was perfect for our two couples. We enjoyed some downhill skiiing and relaxing! The sauna warmed us up after our time on the slopes. We plan on returning.

Dad's Garage is a great place to stay. The space feels roomy and is beautifully decorated. We loved that it was on a quiet residential street yet close to everything. The driveway was kept plowed and cleared even though we had snowfall every day. Lori was wonderful! She patiently and immediately answered all my questions. Thank you Lori!

Such a great property! Kitchen is perfect, screeed in porches are part of my favorite piece of this home oh, the sauna and the fireplace too!! I love going up north to be with nature and enjoy the views but honestly this house makes it hard to want to leave sometimes to actually go out and explore!

Great little spot!

We took a three day stay at Dad's Garage at the end of an extensive trip in the west. It was a great way to settle down after many days of driving. We really enjoyed the house and were very happy with all of the amenities. We did our own cooking and found everything that we needed to do that. We needed rest and the beds were great. We needed to do some laundry and the washer and dryer were great. Something extra was needed and the sauna fit the bill for me. The location was great. Ironwood is a cool town and we were able to get to Copper Peak (the ski jump) and take a day to go up the Keweenaw Penisula. I hope we get the opporunity to go back sometime and stay again.

We were happily surprised at how stunning this home was. It looks like it belongs on HGTV. Loved the sauna and the front porch where we had coffee every morning. The house was immaculate and had everthing you needed. The owner was quick to communicate if we had questions and very friendly. We definitely will stay there again and highly recommend it.

Dad’s Garage exceeded expectations. Located on a quiet street that was midway between downtown Ironwood and all the businesses along US 2. The sauna was a very nice bonus. Great kitchen with everything we needed to cook some yummy breakfasts. Very comfortable sofa and bed. This will be our go to place for return visits.

We love going to Michigan and this was our 2nd stay here! We love this property; it’s cleaner than home(!), love the sauna and the quiet neighborhood, and love exploring the area. We took a beautiful trip to Copper Harbor. Will definitely stay again!

I had a great stay this winter, so I came back to bike. The house is close to both paved trails and mountain bike trails. It is also easy to bike around town. The house is beautiful. It has a modern kitchen and nice living room. The bed is huge, but my favorite part of the house is the sauna. Great place!

We just wanted a short get away for our anniversary. Ended up traveling all the way up the shore to Eagle River and Copper Habor for the day stopping to check out the lakes and rivers as we went. After all day in the car we relaxed in the sauna and went out for dinner. Perfect and peaceful!

Great place

This little house is so well thought out that you do not notice its cozy size. The photos are very accurate--the sofa is large, the kitchen is top of the line, the sauna provides a wonderful wood smell as you enter even if you don't use it! The TV is large, the fireplace homey. And everything is provided, including condiments, coffee and sugar, large washer and dryer, a copy machine even! We went for spring skiing and really loved the entry room/drop zone for all our gear. The beds were comfortable. It was incredibly clean. If I had to say anything, it'd be that it has only one small bathroom, so I'm not sure that had our friends been able to join us we could have had problems there. But for the 2 of us, it was perfect. We can't vouch for the outside since it was still buried in snow, but the house itself just could not be any nicer. We were even able to walk to town for the Brewery, and then breakfast. Lori was very responsive, and offered great tips for places to eat. When in Ironwood, THIS is the place to stay.

This is a really nice place. The sauna is spa quality. It was perfect after skiing. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The kitchen was amazing. The host was terrific.

Dad's Garage was perfect for our weekend ski trip to Ironwood over President's Day Weekend 2025. Lori was great to work with, and promptly responded to us whenever we contacted her. For example, after a very cold day on the slopes, we asked for the sauna to be turned on a bit early so we could warm up when we got off the hill. It was so nice to come back and Apres' Ski in the Sauna. It was also great to be able to park our car in the garage as it snowed all weekend. We will definitely stay in Dad's Garage again the next time we visit Ironwood.

Highly recommend, very clean and all amenities in kitchen & bathroom. Attentive owner, very responsive, great location for enjoying the area. Sauna a nice perk. WiFi great. Able to make gourmet meals with supplied kitchen pans & utensils. If you enjoy the western UP this is a great place to stay, strongly recommend.

My wife and I stayed here and enjoyed the sled trails and all the other fun things to do in the area. Cozy house that has been updated perfectly with all the modern day creature comforts most would be looking for. Sauna was great but could be warmer. Would stay here again!

The pictures don't do it justice! The home is beautiful and cozy. We had everything we could have needed...chargers, filtered water, coffee, waffle iron, the list goes on and on. The sauna was fabulous apres ski. Looking to book again for our next trip to the UP. Forgot to mention how responsive the host was. Again 5 Stars plus!!!!!

We love visiting Gogebic County. This was the cutest house - modern, clean, new, inviting! We loved the porch and sauna along with the party lights outside! Check-in was simple! No issues whatsoever. Would stay again!

This was our 1st VBRO experience. This house had everything we needed and more. Hosts welcomed us with wine and chocolate . We saw the fall trees and colors were amazing. Beautiful place this time of year.

We loved everything about our stay at Dad’s Garage! It was bright, spotless, and decorated beautifully. The bed was comfy, and the sauna was an extra special treat. My husband played guitar on the front porch every morning and enjoyed the many windows and quiet neighborhood. He wanted to move in permanently! The location was perfect for us - close to family and walking distance to downtown. We would definitely stay here again!!

Clean, all needed amenities, convenient to all social aspects of stay

This property was close to the Iron Co trail system. The property was clean and well updated. The city itself definitely needs some work in regard to activities, but if you’re looking to do trails and just hang out, this place was perfect. Lori was so detail oriented and helped quickly with questions.

We really enjoyed our weekend in this house. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and it had everything we needed. As a bonus there is a sauna, which was set on a timer and ready when we wanted to use it! The property manager was very communicative and answered our questions promptly. The town is cute, and everyone we came into contact with was so nice. There is a cute wine bar we recommend checking out called the White Rabbit. You will enjoy your stay here, we can’t wait to come back!

The house was perfect for us. We had our UTV with us and we didn't have to trailer it to the trails, we just drove right from the house. Kwik trip was about 4 blocks away if you need it, which was helpful. The sauna was an added bonus, wish we would have used it more, it was a very nice feature. We had a great time staying at Dad’s garage! We spent our time hiking around near by trails. It was great to come back to relax in the sauna, make a home cooked meal, and settle down with a few games. The owner is not only friendly but very communicative and helpful! Would happily stay again!

We had a great stay at Lori's house! A lot of thought and vision went into this house -- the kitchen had everything we needed to cook some nice meals, the living room was cute and cozy, and the bedroom was very comfortable. We arrived on a rainy afternoon and fell in love with the sauna. The best vacation rental we've stayed at in many years. We will be back!
