This dog-friendly Newport cottage offers a comfy atmosphere, ocean views, and immediate access to Nye Beach. It's an ideal choice for solo travelers, couples wanting to get away for a romantic weekend, or a small family with one child.
Just a few blocks off Highway 101, this home is located right in the desirable Nye Beach neighborhood, where you'll find lots of shops and eateries. The oceanfront Don Davis Park is only two blocks away, and provides direct access to the beach via a paved trail.
The updated interior of this adorable home is quaint and cozy, yet bright and airy, featuring the original hardwood floors from 1920 (though the home was newly remodeled in 2017!) The living area has a couch and a chair for lounging while you watch the flatscreen cable TV. Use the free WiFi to locate attractions and restaurants.
Or stay in and cook up a scrumptious meal in the completely remodeled kitchen. With standard appliances, including a dishwasher, and plenty of cookware, meal prep and clean up will be a breeze. Savor a quiet dinner at the bar for two, which separates the kitchen from the living area, and listen to the peaceful sound of the ocean, visible through a kitchen window. (There's also a third chair in the bedroom for more seating.)
With a queen-size bed and a futon, this two-bedroom, one-bath home sleeps up to three guests. And one lovable canine companion (must not exceed 25 pounds) is also invited for a small nightly pet fee. The master bedroom also features a wall of shelves, offering a wide selection of books. The bathroom has a standalone shower, and this home also offers a private full-size washer and dryer for your added convenience.
Walk to the Newport Performing Arts Center and catch a show, or stroll to Don Davis State Park, and enjoy a picnic near the ocean. Browse the shops in Nye Beach, then take a break and refuel at one of the many quality restaurants in the area. With so many seafood restaurants around (and shops where you can buy the catch of the day and cook it up back in your rental's full kitchen), you'll have plenty of options.
When it's time to get out and explore a little, head to Yaquina Bay State Recreation Site for some hiking and a tour of the lighthouse. Don't miss Newport's historic bayfront, the iconic aquarium and adjacent Hatfield Marine Science Center, and the picturesque Yaquina Head Lighthouse, either!
Regardless of your intent when you come to Newport, this charming little cottage will serve you well. Between its own delightful appeal and its ultra-convenient location, you'll have everything you need for a relaxing, unforgettable Oregon Coast retreat. Reserve it today!

Loved being 2 blocks from the beach, close to little shops and restaurants and being able to have our dog with us. Clean and well equipped. Will return?
Great location. Cozy house.
so close to everything and enjoyed how quiet it was!
My wife and I stayed at the cottage with our dog over Thanksgiving weekend. We mostly ate, drank, walked the beach, and enjoyed several nearby restaurants. The cottage worked perfectly for us and was everything as advertised. You almost can’t beat the location unless you were right on the beach. I would definitely recommend this cottage.
Nice neighborhood to walk my dog and unwind
After receiving a message allowing early entry to Crab Cottage, we were delighted to find the cottage in very clean and ready condition. The spaces are comfortably sized, the kitchen well equipped, and location is within walking distance of beaches, shopping, and restaurants. We hope to return soon.
The property was not cleaned. Two hours later it still was not cleaned so we left. We had to miss our Grandsons bithday because Vacasa didn't deliver.
This was a lovely cottage, beautifully restored, and within walking distance to all that Nye Beach had to offer.
Adorable cottage, close to the beach and within walking distance of so much. We’ll be back.
Very cute home. Close proximity to restaurants and shops as well as easy beach access. Beds could us some improvements/upgrades futon very uncomfortable and our 4yr old was too afraid to sleep in the room by herself because it is right by front door. Very noisy traffic wise being as it is in prime intersection to historic Nye Beach. Otherwise Very nice place to stay.
We loved the cleanliest, the amenities, the location ; everything was perfect.
Only negative is futon in the second bedroom. Needs to be updated! Otherwise loved this place.
We really enjoyed this place and what a great location. There is a lot of vehicle traffic passing by, though.
Nice little older house. Great location as you can walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. You will hear road noise as it is right on the Main Street. Kitchen window with the view to the beach needs replaced as the seal is broke and it’s cloudy so you can’t see well through it. But overall a great stay!
We loved everything about the Crab Cottage! It was clean, newly renovated with new appliances. It was within easy walking distance from the beach, restaurants, and bars. It was just off Highway 101 and easy to find It felt like a safe neighborhood. We plan to come back and stay in the future!
Loved how clean the cottage was. Very comfortable queen mattress. Loved how everything at Nye beach is within walking distance. Too bad it was such a windy weekend. We hope to come back soon. Thanks for always checking in
First and foremost, Crab Cottage was clean as a whistle! To us, that was our number one expectation! Everything one could ever need (and then some!) was available, including extra light bulbs, flashlight, even tape! Books, games, TV-all we're there for our enjoyment! The place had loads of towels and wash cloths, even extra laundry detergent. A short walk to the beach became a part of every day's activities. We would come back every year if we could!!!
The bedroom was great, well appointed kitchen and washer and dryer.
We loved our stay here at the crab cottage! We wanted a relaxing getaway and that’s exactly what we got. Close enough to the beach/shops that you can walk. Less than a 10 min drive to the other side of town to the aquarium. The location was perfect.
My spouse and I have stayed at the Crab Cottage several times over the past five years. We appreciate the ability to bring our dear old dog. There has never been evidence of other dogs having been there. The cottage is bright, clean and fresh with plenty of light - important in the PNW climate! We love the open floor plan in terms of kitchen, dining and living room being one great room. At the same time the two bedrooms are separate so a person can get a nap or go to bed ahead of other guests and still have some peace and quiet. The mattress in the master bedroom is very comfortable. We slept great. We enjoy the ocean view from the kitchen and the master bedroom. Located kitty corner from Zach's Bistro, a block from the Performing Arts Center , walking distance to Nye Beach and walking distance to the ocean. Just terrific.
It's a small and poorly designed cottage. The bathroom is impossibly small, and NO, I'm not a large person. I'm a petite woman who needs some place to put, oh, say my toothbrush, my hairbrush, my meds. There is no place in the bathroom, so we ended up putting our stuff in the laundry room on top of the washing machine. Also, the living room furniture is way beyond its' useful age. It's uncomfortable and, in the case of the rocker-recliner, dangerous. The chair suddenly flipped over, and I hit my head on the window sill as I went down! There were no useful instructions for operating the TV, and after 2 frustrating hours of trying, we finally managed to turn it on and find a channel. The place has some minor damage that could easily and quickly be repaired: a doorknob that falls off, a thermostat knob that falls off, a window that no longer locks in place as the catches are no longer connected to the window. And, nary a Kleenex to be found! Bottom line, we won't be back to this property...EVER!
The little house is spic and span and super convenient to walk around the Nye Beach area.
