The property felt very private, it was very quiet and it was a nice place to walk with our dogs.
Overall it was a place to sleep and eat and shower. We had to fix the glass shower doors because they were off the tracks. The bathroom door took full physical strength to make it latch by lifting up and pushing in. It was cold inside, couldn't find a heater. Exterior needs a lot of upkeep. The old decking was very slippery and so is the green painted concrete, some of the decking on the walkway was loose and there was a piece that was already broken when we got there. And not 100% sure why the code to the lock is so long? Usually four digits is good enough? But other than that it was just a place to sleep, eat and shower. The vacasa person I was texting with was very nice though and helpful and allowed us to leave our vehicle there for a few hours after checkout since it broke down. So thank you to that person
I love that it’s right down the road from 10 mile beach
I booked this house for a quick ocean trip before my boys went back to school. The property was very clean, had the items available for us to cook our own meals and run a load of laundry after a day at the beach. My boys enjoyed playing on the property, it had a big yard for them to run and play. They even provided us with wood and lighter fluid, so we could enjoy the firepit and roast marshmallows. Bring your own sticks for roasting things, these are not provided and we picked up some at the local ACE hardware store. Everything was nice and comfortable until the day we were checking out. They are serious about the 10am check out time. We had just a few more items to get out of the house and to tie down our truck and the cleaning lady showed up at 10:10am. She was real mad and chewed me out for slowing her down, she told me I was supposed to be out at 10am and she needed in their now. I apologized and we quickly gather the last items in the house and got out of her way. I have to say even though that ended our stay with us feeling badly, I would probably book here again.
Spacious, quiet, cozy little house. It secluded away from town and all the traffic and visitors.
The location was perfect--quiet neighborhood outside town, and right on the edge of beautiful dunes to walk through to the beach. Lots of birds around the yard and on the shore. Great fire pit for marshmallows. A few stains on carpets and furniture here and there, but we weren't looking for fancy. Biggest issue was that, even though we told them how many people we had, the sheets we needed for the fold-out couch bed were inside a locked cabinet that we didn't have a key to, and we didn't realize this till 11 pm. Managed to get it worked out, but definitely not convenient. Management was easy to work with and friendly. Would stay here again.
Quiet neighborhood.
Distant Shores was a great getaway. Off the grid, great wifi, and free cable TV.
Loved the peace and quiet. Beds and sofa bed very comfortable. Lots of space for dogs to run around. All amenities and appliances worked well. The cottage is well proportioned and well laid out. Hope to visit again.
The yard area was fantastic. Our dog had lots of room. He also played with the dogs staying next door
Love the yard space, enjoyed the location nestled behind McKercher Park and would recommend to a small family. Biggest downside being lack of doors on bedrooms for privacy. They had shudder doors that collapse open, but since there are slats, very little noise barrier between rooms. But it is the perfect size for small family of four. Probably won't rent again as my kids are getting larger, but for young families its pretty nice.
