Summary:

Ruby Peak Haven

The Space:

This home is located at the very near end of the road and is very private and secluded. You can still walk to the activities at Wallowa Lake but still be secluded and enjoy quiet time with your family. Two different mountain views and the seclusion are only two of the points people rave about when describing this log home!

The open floor plan between the kitchen and the living room makes it great for families andgroups who wouldn't want to stay apart from each other. The living room offers leather furniture, a flatscreen TV, a propane stove, and large picture windows that look out onto the wraparound deck and have beautiful mountain views of Mt. Howard. The open floor plan leads you into the kitchen that has new granite countertops in 2018. Take the double sliding doors out onto the wraparound deck that has lots of outside seating and a BBQ for your use. Go down the hall from the kitchen area to the main bathroom with double vanity, washer and dryer, and a shower/tub combo. The two bedrooms are just across the hall from each other and are just steps from the bathroom.

From the living room area, climb a flight of stairs to get to two additional bedrooms, an open banister loft with another flatscreen TV, and access to a small upper deck with a view of Mt. Howard. This beautiful home comes with a fun story. Can you believe this home was constructed from start to finish in less than 60 days It's true!

THINGS TO KNOW

Seasonal bbqs are available from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. BBQs are propane and tanks are provided. We strongly encourage you to review your tank level in the morning and if a replacement is needed please reach out to your local contact for a tank replacement.

Limited WiFi is available, as this is a rural area.

The common space sofa bed provides an extra sleeping space.

Even in the summer months, it is helpful to get to the house using 4x4 or LOW in an automatic transmission. It helps to not tear up the roads.

  • This home is available year-round, but a 4x4 is required (and chains are optional and optimal) for access in the winter months.

Occupancy and parking can not be exceeded.

No fires or firepits are ever allowed, due to the heavy timbered area and county restrictions but the propane fireplace is allowed.

Winter Rentals: We always recommend 4x4, chains or studded tires to get to our winter open houses. Some renters have better traction tires and can access the homes without them but we don't recommend it. Also, weather changes rapidly in our mountain location. We always suggest preparing for the worst. Also, many Les Schwab Tire Centers have the ability to purchase tire chains, and if you don't use them, will take them on return.

I still have gotten no reply to my complaints about there being Semen on the bed sheets of the space we just stayed at. Having Semen on the sheets in an acceptable part of staying at a location listed on your website?

I want to start by saying I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, especially negative ones. We truly loved the area, and the house itself is beautiful — even nicer than the photos. The location couldn’t be better. However, our stay was overshadowed by a serious cleanliness issue and the complete lack of response when we reported it. Upon arrival, we found what appeared to be semen and hair on one of the beds. This was discovered just as our child was about to get into that bed for the night. It was shocking and deeply concerning. We reached out immediately for assistance, but no one ever responded or followed up. That lack of basic care and accountability is what makes this experience so disappointing. We were left to handle it ourselves, and there were only two extra sets of sheets available, which wasn’t enough to change all of the beds. We ended up having to sleep in the home knowing at least one bed had not been properly cleaned, which is unacceptable. We also tried to wash the bedding ourselves, but the dryer made such a loud screeching noise that we couldn’t use it while the kids were asleep. If the cleanliness issue had been taken seriously and addressed when we reached out, this could have been a 4 or 5 star stay. The property and location are wonderful, but the complete lack of response to a situation like this completely changed the experience. Also, bring a can opener if you plan to cook — there wasn’t one provided!

This house is gorgeous, inside and out. The Vacasa pics don't do it justice, to be honest. The area is quiet and peaceful. Plenty of room and supplies (be sure to check in the main downstairs closet for extra towels, etc), and lots and lots of games and fun stuff all over the place. Its is a bit of a walk down to the main road, but not too bad. We drove, so no problem there, just watch closely for other traffic and deer. We would definitely stay here again.

The location and the layout of the home was very nice, the kitchen table was area was crowded, would have been better off having chairs instead of inches, the Furnishings were very inferior and the beds were very saggy and not comfortable

Beautiful setting, very clean and lovely house, close to everything. Huge deck which we used often. Low on some supplies like tp and dish soap. Gas fireplace did not work. We would definitely stay here again.

This cabin has it all. Probably the most well appointed place we’ve ever stayed tons of pillows and sheets and towels. Every time I looked for something in the kitchen I found exactly what I was looking for. I really appreciate that. They don’t clean out the extra pantry items like flour and sugar, baking soda, baking powder, herbs, and spices, including syrup after each rental I was not prepared for that so we added to the supply, but that was really nice.

We had a women's get away the third week of June and had a wonderful time in this lovely home. Everything was clean and well stocked. We loved the cabin theme. When I asked the ladies what they appreciated about their stay, they responded: (1) Well stocked kitchen. There were enough dishes for our large group, and the plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and baggies were especially helpful. They also had the basics, such as flour, sugar, salt, peper, ect. (2) The fans in each bedroom kept our rooms cool and eliminated noise from our large, noisy group when we needed some quiet time. (3) Plenty of towels for a house full of women! (4) We were thrilled to discover a large folding table and extra folding chairs. Came in handy! (5) The wrap around porch with additional table and outdoor chairs gave all of us extra space to enjoy the scenery. (6) It was extremely easy to communicate. When I had a question, both before and during the our stay, I immediately received an answer--no waiting. All in all, it was a perfect place for our large group of 10. There was plenty of room to gather together or break off in smaller groups. Everyone loved the experience, and we have already started planning our next getaway!
