Pittsboro, North Carolina
This unit is a refurbished container built by an architect professor at UNC-C to house a traveling art exhibit.
It's now a unique space with a queen-size bed, single futon, and private bath and access to a deck overlooking our garden with outsider folk art scattered throughout.
For your convenience, there's a micro-mini-fridge that holds the equivalent of six 12 oz. cans, coffee maker with PODs, and smart TV for streaming your favorite shows.
Yes, breakfast is included in our delicious Small Cafe (during regular cafe hours, Wed-Sunday)
Outsider art is scattered throughout the gardens and buildings.
You're going to love it!!
This place is anything but ordinary.
This B&B is an eco-friendly, arts-oriented property with a busy café on site that's open til 2pm
Fun little place to say for the night. Great breakfast. Very convenient location if visiting the Raleigh area.
We really liked the funky (industrial?) design throughout the clever re-purposed shipping container cabin. The only negative was the sliding bathroom door, which didn't want to slide easily. The breakfast portion of the B & B arrangement was one of the best parts--the rental included brunch in a little café on the same property, in our case an excellent eggs benedict concoction, with mimosas (extra charge). We may come back just for the food. There was some sort of friction in the communication with the host, though; we didn't get our confirmatory email from Expedia until a couple of days before our trip, so there was some anxiety that it would work. It did, however, so all that ends well . . .
Love the location. Very unique place to stay. Ive stayed in a smaller unit that they have before and it was really nice. Woodshed is bigger. My only complaint would be having a bigger refrigerator.
This is our second time staying at the Woodshed. Location is amazing! Can walk to so many things. Breakfast is great! Wi-fi was lacking but the location and experiences make up for it. Will be back again.
It was nice
I enjoyed my stay very much. The property was as advertised, although I believe it would a very tight squeeze for two people that were not a couple. Abby was very easy to deal with. I unfortunately could not participate in the cafe as my hours were different than the cafes. Would definitely stay there again.
Perfect location to downtown Pittsboro , many different places to eat or have an adult beverage! I recommend for quick getaways.
I travel 5 days a week, and to step into the Woodshed was a welcome relief to my hotel travels. Quiet, peaceful, garden area...most comfortable bed.....every travel need anticipated within....amazing breakfast....clear, concise communication and expectations. Appreciated this
Loved being able to just walk about town & a sweet little place to come back to each day. Abbie thanks so much!
My wife and I were doing a weekend get away and this was the perfect landing spot. Close to everything and the place had everything we needed. Highly recommend this for couples looking for a little retreat.
We really enjoyed our stay here! We did our own little staycation in Pittsboro and the host was very accommodating, responsive and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Although we were unable to go to the cafe for our complimentary breakfast, we absolutely plan to come back again! Thank you very much!
Property is nice and it's convenient to have good food for next day. The only improvements I would suggest are the heating and air conditioning and Wi-Fi. It was very difficult to operate The HVAC and the Wi-Fi was extremely unstable so, we wound up going without it.
The container home was very eclectic. Always some cool to look at. The mini-split worked great for the space. Only negative was the internet. Phone and tv dropped a lot. The cafe next drop for brunch was awesome.
Woodshed was small but nice. Perfect place for and overnight trip if you want a town with a couple breweries. Not great for a lot of luggage or to get ready for something formal. Cafe was great for breakfast the next day. Cute place bed, bathroom, tv, nothing more.
We had to cancel this trip but really want to go again. The place looks marvelous !
Loved staying at this property! The accommodations are really cool and loved all the recycled art projects throughout the property. Tucked into the woods made it peaceful, but the convenience to the town of Pittsboro and other cities nearby was awesome. Best part was the included breakfast from Small Cafe! Incredible locally sourced fresh food and such a friendly staff. Ease of communication with the property manager for check-in process was great. Our son is stationed at Fort Bragg and we like to visit him as often as possible. We will definitely look to stay here again on our next visit!
This. Is a wonderful example of what can be packed into a small space and how building materials can be recycled. It was. Clean and had everything we needed. I wish we had stayed on days that the cafe was open for breakfast but because it wasn’t open our stay was extremely private.
This space & the surrounding town were very enjoyable for a quick weekend getaway! The woodshed, cafe, and surrounding areas were unique, beautiful, and made for an excellent adventure. We would absolutely visit again! Thanks for having us!
