This cottage is absolutely beautiful and picturesque. We met our children there and had a wonderful reunion. It's perfect for hanging out and catching up. Also Pittsboro is a great little town to explore. Finally the hosts are wonderful warm welcoming people.
Loved the nature and history of the property. The home was comfortable and well cared for. Great personal touches. Especially enjoyed the screened in porch overlooking the waterfall. Grimsley was a graciously attentive host. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!
Idyllic setting with a historic grist mill, dam and waterfall!Therapy nature! One of our top VRBO rentals. Exceded our expectations. Owners accessible, refined, responsive yet not intrusive. Thank you so much. We will be back.
Loved the beauty and history of this well maintained property nestled in the woods. The screened in porch, the sound of the waterfall and the personal touches added so much to our comfort and enjoyment. Grimsley was a wonderful host and very responsive to our needs. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Outstanding
Comfortable for a family holiday getaway. The property is just lovely inside and out. Quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed a personal tour of the historical mill, the kitchen was great for cooking all our meals in, and outdoor and porch spaces were so relaxing. Definitely recommend!
The property and setting are beautiful. The property manager, Grimsley is extremely nice, and was willing to do anything he could to make my stay more enjoyable and comfortable. I especially enjoyed kayaking on the stretch of water adjoining the property. I would definitely want to stay here again if I come back to North Carolina. Thank you Grimsley!
We were in NC to see our daughter. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful place. The kitchen was great, the beds are comfortable and the scenery and views are spectacular. Grimmsley was a great host, we wii be back!
We stayed while touring UNC/Duke campuses; it was 20 min drive to Chapel Hill and we also took short (15min) to Pittsboro and Saxapahaw to eat and canoe the river. The house was very cool and the old mill was fascinating. Saw deer and caught crappie and bass in the creek. Overall 10/10!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. The home was spotless, well equipped and beautifully decorated inside and out. It was a treat to stay there.
Our experience here was excellent! It was extremely clean and was exactly like the photos! The property owner could not have been more gracious! This property was very well thought out and attention was paid to every detail
This place is amazing. Quiet and beautiful grounds overlooking a soothing waterfall and creek. Clean and cozy with a friendly host. Had everything we needed to rest and relax between college graduation events. Had a very small family gathering on the enclosed porch for lunch. I would highly recommend!
As soon as we arrived, we knew this was the perfect getaway. You could see (and hear) the spectacular waterfall over the dam. We stayed in the Old Mill Cottage, across the street from one of the oldest working mills in North Carolina, named Baldwins Mill. We had the great fortune of meeting the owners who were gracious enough to give our family a tour of the mill. Old Mill Cottage provided plenty of space for my family of four. The cozy cottage was fully stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies. They even had some literature for guests to read on the history of Baldwins Mill and things to do in the surrounding area. There were many on-site activities such as swimming, kayaking, and barbecuing. Plus, a few different outdoor seating areas and an enclosed porch, all with great views of the water. The dam created an incredible waterfall which provided the most serene, natural sound machine for the most peaceful sleep we have had in a long time. We are already planning our return visit to Old Mill Cottage.
