Sleeps up to 16 across 7 bedrooms and 12 beds: main house (5 bedrooms) plus a self-contained 2-bedroom guest house with its own entrance, kitchen, and lounge.

We sit on 1.2 hectares at the highest point in Coatesville. The views are the real thing: Auckland spread out below, sunrises that come straight at you, and on clear nights a sky you don't get in the city. Albany central is about 10 minutes away, so you're not actually remote.

We have sheep on the property. There are usually a couple of wild rabbits around too, if you look.

Main house

Master suite : Super king bed with its own seating area, a good spot for a morning coffee while you watch the city wake up. Large ensuite with his and hers sinks, separate walk-in wardrobe. Two thick floor mattresses available for the little ones.

Junior suite : Queen bed with views across the gully. Ensuite and separate walk-in wardrobe.

Garden view room : Queen bed with views across Auckland.

The Middle : Two king single beds.

The End : Two king single beds.

Upstairs lounge : Private sitting area with a two-seater sofa and 50 TV, one floor up from the main living areas if someone needs a quieter spot.

Kitchen : Full-size kitchen, well stocked and ready to use. Rice cooker, slow cooker, air fryer, Nespresso machine, full set of pots and pans, mixing bowls, roasting dishes, herbs, spices, oils and sauces. Dining table that seats 8+ comfortably, plus 3 bar stools.

The Cafe : Our Moroccan-inspired internal lounge, works as overflow dining space or somewhere to sit, play games, and talk.

The Lounge Gas fireplace, 60 TV, comfortable seating, and that view again.

The Playroom : In the single garage: toys, children's books, beanbags, a play mat. Somewhere for the kids to disappear to.

The Hangout : Ping pong table, arcade machine, home theatre, and a DVD collection. The big kids' room.

Self-contained guest house

Separate entrance with its own courtyard and dedicated parking for two/three cars out front. Open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge.

Main bedroom : Queen bed, sun-filled room.

Single room : King single plus a single trundle bed (can be stowed if not needed).

Lounge : 55 Smart TV with Netflix, board games.

Kitchen : Fully equipped. Air fryer, rice cooker, oils, sauces, spices.

Netflix included in both houses.

A few things to know

Outdoor hazards : Being semi-rural, the property has high retaining walls, steps without handrails, and uneven ground in the paddocks. Please watch your footing and keep an eye on young children.

Security camera : There are two external cameras, one mounted outside the main house and one outside the guest house. Both monitor the gate, driveway, and exterior areas only. They record continuously for security purposes and do not point inside either house.

Alarm system : Both the main house and guest house have alarm systems fitted (currently inactive) with motion sensors in the lounge and main bedroom.

Wildlife and insects : Daddy long legs spiders, geckos, rabbits, and birds are part of life here. Nothing harmful, just semi-rural.

Our sheep: We'll come by occasionally to check on them. We'll keep it brief.

Garden and lawn care : A gardener and lawn person come through from time to time.

Rubbish : We collect rubbish on Sunday afternoons and return the bins on Monday.
