Six middle aged couples stayed for a long weekend exploring the area. Cooked at house for all meals and lacked nothing. Did some wine tasting, Mendocino town visit, but most of all enjoyed each others' company through games and conversations. Be prepared to drive around for the attractions, but the sceneries were enriching. No complaints. Will stay again.
The place and the stay were lovely. This review involves customer service post-stay. An item was left behind, and we reached out immediately to see if we could get it returned. There was a brief (and pleasant) email exchange indicating they did indeed find our item and were happy to return it - we offered of course to pay for mailing. Over a month later, and several emails attempting to follow up, we have neither received the item nor have had ANY response to our further emails. The item was not high value, but the return of it would have been most appreciated (and not of great difficulty to do) - and being 'ghosted' leaves such a negative impression that we probably won't return.
We spent five cold and rainy nights over the holidays, and having a comfortable, warm, and scenic home allowed for lots of indoor quality time. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful.
Arrived for a four day stay with family, property and home from the outside looked very nice cozy and quiet. Upon our arrival there was two towels for four people , Called our contact person that I was given to try and get more towels, never got a call back in the four days of our stay. We did finally after a thorough search of the house found Towels in the dryer, they Should have been put out for us. Dishes pots and pans top of the refrigerator and microwave were all very dirty and We ended up cleaning all items ourselves before use. All three bathrooms were clean except for the bathtub upstairs which had a wad of hair On the shower wall. Shampoo was available although there were no bars of soap in the house. The hot tub was beautiful but very run down . There was one headrest that was left out of for the one was sitting on the side of the hot tub area the top to the hot tub was very hard to get off due to the fact that it was broken and torn in half the cover over the filter was cracked and the inside of the tub needed to be cleaned of Tree and leave debris also flies and mosquitoesbefore used
This property is very comfortable and family friendly. It is well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. It is very close to a beautiful private beach and a short drive to Mendocino and Fort Bragg.
We were looking forward to a week of quiet and tranquility. The home was in a great location and the layout was great. That being said the rest of the stay was extremely disappointing. The kitchen is in need of some serious deep cleaning, the cabinets are filthy on the outside, the microwave hood vent is full of grease and debris which was dropping down onto the cooktop while cooking, pot holders and placements where filthy, most of dishes and utensils, and cookware needed to be cleaned, there is a serious lack of quality cookware and utensils, knives to work with the only nonstick pan is completely scratched and the nonstick coating missing, The master bathroom had mold along the shower exterior and at the bottom of the shower enclosure. In the upstairs loft closet the entire shelf was covered with rat feces. As far as smoke detectors go the master bedroom unit was missing a battery and unit in the bedroom leading into the garage had a dead battery (hence the chirping all night) All walls & base boards need a deep cleaning/painting. The return air vent was filthy and several heating and air vents were rusty. The fireplace did not work which was disappointing because we had rainy days and would have been nice on the days. Direct TV was sketchy but we luckily brought our fire stick so that worked out great. The large couch shown in the living room was completely broken down which made it so low to the ground that these two old people had a heck of a time getting up and down with our bad backs. There was not a adequate supply of T/P and paper towels and no Kleenex or dinner napkins. We had to run to the store and get more. The spa was great but has a real lack of lighting going to the the spa at night. The cost of this property is on the higher end in our opinion (since there is no ocean view) I suppose we have come to expect more in this price range. I know that all the reviews I have read from past visitors have been excellent but not in our case which is unfortunate as this place could be a real jewel.
The Chalet is a perfect place for a family respite. Great spaces inside and out. Very well stocked in kitchen, everything a big familyi needs. The Spa is the icing on the cake.
We enjoyed our stay, especially the hot tub and access to Irish Beach. The house is comfortable, but a bit dusty. We tried to contact the property manager via email and phone call before we arrived with questions but never heard back. Luckily we had no issues, because she never checked in with us all week. The kitchen is fairly well stocked, but no cleaning supplies. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we love the area. It’s quiet, beautiful and relaxing.
We loved the Irish Beach area. Highly recommend this home for a quiet, secluded stay. Beautiful drives to local state parks and beautiful beaches. The great windows in the back of the house make for beautiful sunrise mornings.
The nearly (and at times) empty beach makes the price worth it. The house was exceptionally clean, but shows better in the photos. Bring sleeping masks, rooms are bright in the morning. Spa location is lovely, under the pines.
