Cozy secluded waterfront retreat

It was every bit as wonderful as the first time we stayed there. The house and location are beautiful with a creek running right past the house. If you love nature and are looking for a tranquil, calm place to rest awhile, look no further. Its a little slice of heaven! We hope to be back next year!

Such an amazing little place! Loved it here and how down to earth it felt. I've stayed in so many soulless, money grab, cabins and this is NOT that. This is someone's home, love and care has been put into every inch of it. I would highly recommend a stay here.

This was my second stay at Yellow Magnolia and I'm so glad I went again. Although the weather was a bit too chilly to really enjoy the deck, the fireplace came in handy.I was there primarily to hike in the area, and it's really convenient to lots of good hikes. I also just love how isolated the home feels, even though it's on the edge of a neighborhood.I cooked every night I was there; the kitchen is well stocked with what I needed. Both the main room and the sunroom are SO comfy. And the morning light!!!Good chance this will become a regular trip for me.....

This space is just MAGIC. Pure magic. If you are looking to get away from the noise and reconnect with nature, this is the spot! Peaceful escape but, still close enough to explore and get necessities. We hope to be back again for warmer seasons!

The stay was wonderful! I talked to Barbara, and she was so welcoming and friendly and the ease of checking in and getting into the house was great.It was a lovely home that was nicely decorated with beautiful artwork. We enjoyed the peace and calmness of the property. It was just what we were looking for. The brook/stream outside the window was breathtaking. The heated toilet seat was a fancy surprise, every time I used it, it made me smile - so nice on a cold day!!!We plan on rented this place again when it is warmer and we can go into the water. All in all, it is a wonderful place to stay!!!

It was well equipped, very peaceful, wildlife was amazing

Everything about this peaceful slice of heaven was perfect. From the deer on the river, the peaceful sound of the flowing water to the eagle in the tree, and how could I forget Luna‘s little visits. Barbara the host was very communicative. What made this Little Home so special was her Galactic taste and style. my husband and I couldn’t have picked a better place for our almost one year honeymoon. can’t wait to come back in the spring.

Had a great time and the major reason for that was Barbara’s house. Lovely home situated in a wonderful, quiet location.

Great creekside

Lovely little place. Best of both worlds. Secluded enough, but close enough to other stuff around. Convenience store within walking distance was a bonus!

INCREDIBLE location, secluded and restorative for us. The wildlife, creek, woods and central location are all bonuses.

Lovely home with beautiful outside space. All the amenities provided allowed us to cook our meals. We took walks through the woods and saw plenty of deer, had coffee each morning on the deck and a fire by the river each night. Simply wonderful. We appreciate being able to bring our dog. He had a great time too!

The good: Location in backyard. Loved the hummingbird visits due to the wonderful choice of flowers. Natural setting on the creek. Lucky to see lots of wildlife. Firepit and chairs next to creek.The bad: Fridge was dirty. Wet dog smell in the comforters. Kitchen cabinet shelves ready to collapse. Sunroom couch not comfortable to sleep on. Pans (concave) unusable on the electric stove. Window in bedroom not working. Cobwebs on bedroom ceiling.We were grateful for the use of the house and some things should be updated and cleaned.

Amazing slot

We had a restful and fun time, enjoying the peace and quiet and hiking in the area. This is a cozy, well-kept house with a home-away-from-home feel.

This property has many treasures. Especially backyard is like heaven. its scenery is tranquil and peaceful and I saw crane and deer family eats something in the creek when I stayed. Cottages is small but clean and comfort. I want to be back soon.

The property was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect place for our family to go and disconnect from the outside world for a little bit. Tubing in the river behind the house was the highlight of our trip. We can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely wonderful couple of days spent at this beautiful house on a creek. If you love nature, beauty, fishing in a peaceful setting this is the place for you. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The backyard going up to the river is amazing. When my wife and I booked, the listing said the property had no visible neighbors. Unfortunately, that was not true. While standing on the back deck, you can see (through the trees) another house at the top of the hill going up from the back yard. Once you go down into the backyard, the view becomes direct and unobstructed.Additionally, there is an infrequently used road that runs right in front of the property, so it does not have the completely isolated feel that we were expecting. When down by the fire pit by the river, we could hear the conversations of people on the road bridge over the river.That said, once I adjusted my expectations, I was able to shift my plan for the stay and enjoy myself. My original intention was to spend most of the time at the property, enjoying the isolation. Instead, the stay became much more about going out and doing stuff than we had intended. The host is great with communication, and visits from the neighborhood dog Luna were delightful. We loved opening the back doors and listening to the sound of the river. We didn't get to enjoy the outside as much as we'd like because it rained most of our stay, but watching and listening to the rain fall on the river was delightful. Overall, sadly, the stay was sullied by what felt like misleading advertising. I shared this with the host, and hopefully the listing will be updated.

My son and I went to go fishing, unfortunately after 2 day of heavy rain the stream was unfishable. But still had a great time. Host is wonderful. Definitely would like to go back and fish the stream again. Met Luna when she came for a visit on Saturday, she friendly and very nice. If your looking for a quiet place to relax I recommend staying here.

My husband and I and our dog enjoyed our stay very much. The house was interestingly decorated and comfortable. Situated on a beautiful river it was so nice to return to after hiking. Very relaxing and peaceful . I enjoyed breakfast on the deck listening to the water and enjoying the warm sun. In the late afternoon sitting out by the river was a perfect ending to the day. . I would highly recommend a stay here.

We loved it here! Definitely would return. Just know there is a room closed off Just wasn't aware. Other than that. Loved the place!

I was looking for a quiet spot to do some soul searching, close to good hiking....and this home was PERFECT. Although it's located in a community, as advertised I didn't really see any neighbors. The home itself has so much personality, unlike many other nondescript places where I've rented before. I like to cook and the kitchen was well equipped. The bidet was a welcome surprise and the tub is large enough for a good soak. The huge deck was a perfect place to have coffee and dinner and just hang out. Unfortunately, my fire pit nights got rained out, but the spot is lovely to sit and listen to the stream.I spent my days hiking nearby--really good trails only 15-20 minutes away. I only ate one meal out--a really good Colombian restaurant I passed on my way in. Fabulous!Visitors: an eagle (twice!), turkeys, buzzards, deer and of course the neighborhood dog Luna, who came to the slider and woofed to say hello!Definitely a gem and hope to visit again in the future!

Stayed a couple of nights with my wife. The stream going right past in the backyard is the highlight and incredibly peaceful.

Relaxing, beautiful, peaceful, we love staying here the views fireplace strean and eagles that cruise by make this a dream come true!

Perfect little house on a creek

This was our second time staying at this property, and it never fails to be a great retreat.

We had a very nice, relaxing stay. The property and home are very beautiful. Each morning Luna took us on a walk over the bridge and up the creek. She was very gentle with my toddler. We cannot wait to come back in the summertime so we can go in the creek. Thank you for opening your home to us!

My wife and I and our 2 dogs enjoyed a weekend getaway. The location was perfect…secluded enough that we felt away from it all, but just a short drive to great parks and hiking trails. Looking forward to a return trip in the future!

Peaceful and Relaxing

Had a wonderful time. Cabin was as expected. Great view of the creek from the main living area. Good communication with property manager. Kids did not want to leave. Would definitely stay again!

The placement of the cabin was great being able to sit on the porch or by the fire pit to enjoy games and meals with the sound of the water. We saw deer, chipmunks, hawks, a coyote, and a blue heron landed right in the water while we sat by the fire pit. If you bring a dog, there is a large fenced-in baseball field right across the bridge near the property that was great for our dog to play fetch in. The neighborhood dog Luna, was more of a permanent resident rather than a visitor as she was always waiting outside for us and it became a bit difficult to enjoy the property with our dog out with us as we intended. We had to leave our dog in their crate more than we wanted to since Luna was friendly but caused our dog to become a bit too riled up since Luna always wanted to play. We found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable sagging in the middle, there was a strong mildew odor when we arrived that could be remedied with an air purifier or dehumidifier, and the fire detectors did not work when we tested the test buttons. The listing did not mention it but there is also another locked room in the cabin, we assumed it was another bedroom but would have felt more comfortable knowing there was another room.

The only thing that could have made our stay better would be the internet service. Though it was said to be spotty, we were unable to find a spot where we were able to receive service. It was so peaceful and the decor was lovely.

My partner and I enjoyed our stay. The property was exactly as described and the setting on the creek was so peaceful. Sitting by the creek or on the deck with coffee was perfect. Since the house is so close to hiking spots, we were able to get to Bushkill Falls easily. We had several visits from Luna, the neighbor’s dog, and our dog had a great time playing with her. Our only minor complaint is the mattress is not very comfortable and sort of slanted into the middle of the bed, but that wouldn’t stop us from recommending this place, or coming back again, which we plan to do! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
