The home is older, but so quaint and charming. The view of river from porch is relaxing and refreshing. Great way to spend time with family and decompress. Enjoyed our brief stay. Would definitely return, after we explore other areas for getaways.

The house was very clean and had many extras for guest convenience such as outdoor and indoor play items, even some firewoods, many small items in the house helped our stay. Only thing we missed was linens and towels that we had to bring with us.

This is my honest review: It was a lovely property. Very secluded. We felt very safe. The river had a nice view. Our young boys enjoyed fishing. The fire pit was enjoyable in the evening. The owners supplied kindling, firewood, lighter fluid, and lighter were very appreciated. They even included sticks to roast hot dogs. The games inside the house were nice as we don't watch tv. It was close to Luray Caverns and attractions. The house was very clean. But very outdated and basic. It didn't feel like a vacation house. After fees, we paid 650 for 2 nights. We left feeling underwhelmed with our stay. We were encouraged to clean the house before we left. So the last day felt stressful. I totally understand this saved us a cleaning fee. Adding it up, however, a hotel would have been cheaper. We just hate hotels. Nothing is really worth the money these days. You get the least for your hard earned money it feels like. If I could suggest anything, put a little money into the property and make some updates. Nothing expensive or major. Just make it more stylish or modern. It felt like someone just went to a Goodwill to furnish and decorate it. It felt very cheap. It just wasn't worth the price. Especially in the off-season. Again, all rentals are overpriced these days. We're considering investing in an RV to save money travelling. Thank you for having us. Owners were gracious and again very clean!

A Perfect Shenandoah River GetawayOur stay at this Shenandoah River cabin was nothing short of incredible. The moment you arrive, you’re greeted with sweeping river views that feel like a deep breath for the soul. The setting is peaceful, quiet, and truly restorative—exactly what you hope for when you book a cabin escape. The home itself is immaculate and so thoughtfully appointed. Every detail feels intentional, from the cozy furnishings to the well-stocked kitchen to the little touches that make settling in effortless. It’s clear that Jeff and Lori take great pride in hosting. They were wonderfully responsive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was perfect. This cabin is one of those rare places that works for absolutely any kind of trip. Families will love the space and the river access. Couples will find it romantic and serene. It’s ideal for a fishing getaway, a girls weekend, or—as in our case—a best friends gathering filled with laughter, good food, and long talks by the water.Whether you’re looking for adventure or pure relaxation, this place delivers. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already talking about when we can return. Highly, highly recommend.

Excellent communication, clean and well maintained property. The house may have been even better than expected from the listing. There was plenty of space, the kitchen was very well stocked and the owners even left extras such as wood for the fire pit, the kayaks, yard games, and a closet full of board games. It’s also a picturesque location right on the Shenandoah river. My family had a wonderful day and I highly recommend this house.

This rental was solid. No real complaints, listing was accurate. Hosts were communicative and check-in/out was easy. We had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable week-long stay where we did most of our own cooking. That said, if you are looking for a home base to explore the region and park like we were, understand that this location is very isolated. That's not a bad thing at all in itself, it just made it difficult to have much down time at the house while still seeing the sights. There is no coming and going -- once you're out for the day, you're out. Hikes in the park had to be combined with day trips to Luray and Front Royal, since you're staying off the highway right between the two park entrances. Driving an hour or more each day was a huge part of our trip and was very taxing on our kids' energy. The long gravel road to the house presents some logistical and safety challenges as well. Again, no criticisms of the property itself, but it might not be for everyone. I would strongly suggest mapping out detailed driving directions for each outing before booking.

We came to the area to explore Shenandoah National Park. The house was very clean, comfortable beds and pillows. The kitchen was well stocked for us to cook each night. The wrap around deck was a perfect coffee spot while watching and listening to the river go by. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We relaxed in the river our last night and reflected on the natural beauty of the area. This quiet secluded home down a shady dirt road was the perfect escape we all needed. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and the cooler mountain air. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Unfortunately the river was at too high of a level to enjoy (nothing owner’s could do about that!) but the yard games provided plenty of fun! I would suggest checking river levels before traveling and bringing bug spray (even though there was some in the house too!). Wished we could have enjoyed the kayaks, tubes and canoe provided. Guess we will have to come back!

We can’t recommend this property enough. It’s in a quiet location with porch views of the river. Thank you for the bonus goodies upon arrival! There was plenty of space for our family of 5 and the kids loved running around in the large back yard and having a campfire. Our trip was short, but they also did a little canoeing. You’re a short drive to Luray, but just far away from the busier aspects of it to feel like a true retreat. Not too far from SNP. Would love to return again when our toddler is a bit older so we can fully enjoy this amazing space.

We hiked Old Rag on the way up which was an amazing (and very challenging) experience, then spent Saturday kayaking and fishing. We went into town Saturday night for food and drinks. Overall was a great stay. Very easy to check-in, house was clean, and thoughtful surprise welcome with snacks (thank you!). Appreciated the fairy lights in kitchen and living room, so had a little bit of light at night. Loved the porch. Good water pressure with showers. Extra chairs in closet helpful since had a 5th person at the house for dining table. Plenty of storage in the pantry, and appreciate the kitchen items (ex. cooking spray, salt, pepper, etc) along with all the hand soap at all sinks, so we didn't have to bring it. Good location to get to Shenandoah River Park each day for hikes, and downtown to hit the shops one afternoon. Quick response from host. Biggest downside was that we had no cellular service with Verizon or AT&T. So could not make/receive calls or text messages, which was big disappointment. But we did have good wifi for internet (hubbie brought router with him). Wish the fireplace had flames you could see when on. Beds not terribly comfy and squeaky when you move, so one of the kiddos had trouble sleeping. All cutting knives EXTREMELY dull - we tried them all - had heck of a time trying to cut fruit and veggies. Wish the firepit had chairs - we noticed campfire chairs under the deck, but didn't have the energy to set them all up. But other than not being able to receive/make calls, everything else wasn't that big of a deal. Overall good stay, would recommend so long as you can receive/make calls while staying at the cabin.

We really enjoyed staying at Rivers Edge! Upon entering we found snacks and wine from the hosts, such a nice surprise! The home is decorated in a lodge style which makes it very cozy! The large porch is really nice and kept us dry during our stay as there was a lot of rain. All of the outdoor equipment was there just as advertised, but because of the weather we were not able to use it. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. There was also shampoo and body wash in the bathrooms. There were a lot of games and puzzles and a nice big yard. Lori was great responding to all of our questions about rainy day activities. The road to the house (off of the main road) is gravel but we didn’t really have any problems with it in our mini van, although it was a little intimidating the first time down it!

The cabin has a great location. Close to Luray and Skyline Drive. Not only was it well kept and a nice getaway, this was one of my first VRBO places that had such a well stocked kitchen. With matching coffee cups and place settings and serving bowls. I bring a bin with all things I need and here so much was already provided. Also we all loved that all light switches were labeled so there was not that constant guessing game to turn on and off lights. Also we were celebrating my boyfriends bday and they left a cake and candles and a card. So sweet. Wish we had noticed they would have driven us up river to canoe down to house. Next time! Thank you! Very conveniently located about 15 mins from Luray caverns. 2 things to note. Renters are responsible for their own bed linens and bath towels. My family & I were booked for 2 nights & unfortunately, I was only able to stay one night, but the owners of the property were kind enough to check on us as they noticed we never made it the first night. I thought that was considerate of them & upon arriving the following night, my family & I were very happy with the layout and cleanliness of the home. Everything and then some was available to a person's needs. They were generous enough to leave a bottle of very pleasant wine and 2 bags of Pepperidge Farm cookies as a welcoming gift. That made us all smile. My 7-year-old son, 12 & 18-year-old daughters were very content with their space to chill and play. My wife and I enjoyed the large deck & listening to the River while relaxing on the rocking chairs. The oven worked great and, the fridge had some useful condiments and the pantry had plenty of supplies & seasonings as did the bathroom with toiletries. It was a pleasant surprise in the morning receiving a courtesy from the owners for a late checkout. That extra few hours.made quite a difference and allowed us a little more time to rest, explore & pack. Although i iIitially wasd on this place because we love to kayak and a ghaveood campcampfire didndidn't to utilize the boats or the fire pit but we will return for a longer stretch & put those ammenamenitiesse. The cabin was clean inside and out and exactly as described, It included many amities that you do not usually find, all at the same location, such as: a very well equipped kitchen including spices, zip locks, foil wraps, etc; multiple games, yard games, badminton, corn hole, etc; two kayaks, a canoe, multiple tubes to use in the river 200' away. 15 minute drive to Luray Caverns & the town of Luray and 30 minute drive to Shenandoah National Park. In preparation for my trip, I emailed two questions and both wee answered within 10 minutes. I highly recommend this cabin.

We had a great time on our vacation and couldnt ask fpr a better place to stay. Everything was setup so nice for us when we arrived and a very comfortable experience for all of us.
