The house was everything it advertised and more. The house had everything you could need. Pots, dishes, cleaning supplies, toiletries, games, athletic equipment, fishing equipment etc... The house was clean and well taken care of. The lake is literally steps away and there are boats as well. My only complaint was that I didn't have more time there. I plan to visit again, it was an extremely relaxing and comfortable stay. I highly recommend it!
James was a very nice person ! Always in touch with us and he want us to be very comfortably in his place ! A great place in the mountains.
This is a great rental for a family looking to relax on a lake. The pictures do not give it justice!Lots of space for everyone. We enjoyed all the extras. Boats, bikes, fishing poles and private beaches and pools .All the beds were extremely comfy. Well stocked kitchen, towels and supplies. Jim gives a quick tour, which is helpful and answers any questions. We had the best time and look forward to renting again next summer.
Nice spot overlooking the lake, very comfortable for our group (three couples + a baby); everything was clean and easy and gave us the space for a lovely time together. Would certainly recommend for a gathering of family or friends, with much appreciation for our hosts
Exceptionally clean with all our needs met. Beds were very comfortable. Lake view can be enjoyed from the house and all the lake equipment was easily accessible. Very friendly owners and we lacked nothing to enjoy our visit. We highly recommend this house. Also easily accessible to Watchtower facilities.
This house is very well laid out for large groups and extremely well stocked. Lots of supplies are provided: sheets, towels, beach towels, fully equipped kitchen, games , toys, kayaks, life vests, bicycles........ I could go on and on. James and Wendy met us there and showed us around; both are very friendly and welcoming. Our adult children enjoyed the amenities that Hemlock Farms provides as well as the boats and fishing equipment - also provided. The highlight to our days was to sit around the campfire and the Jansens had an ample supply of wood and kindling for us to use. We chose this location for several reasons but mostly because it is near all of our extended family. The absolute only reason I did not give a 5 star rating was because we did not know that we were limited to only 4 vehicles at the house due to Hemlock Farms being a gated community. Our sons came from Texas, California and South Carolina and only visit twice a year. We wanted to be close to extended family so they could all get to see them but we spent a lot of time shuffling in and out to pick them up since they had to park off site. Otherwise this vacation stay was perfect and i would highly recommend this lakefront house for you next family vacation !
My whole family, sons, daughter in-laws, and grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed our vacation stay at the Jansen's lake house. The house had all the comforts of home with a beautiful lake in front. FYI James: There are big fish in the lake. My son caught a 3 lb bass with several big hits. The community park and pool was very close and source of good fun for the grandkids. The close proximity to grocery store , gas, and restaurants was very convenient. This includes a pizza parlor where NY style pizza was served. We were able to start a bonfire in the front yard fire pit with all the pizza boxes that were accumulated. Pizza in Ohio is just not as good. Hope to stay again next year. Thank you to the Jansen's. The Sherman Family
We had a wonderful family vacation at James & Wendy's Pocono retreat. So many things to do at the house, in the Hemlock Farms community, and in the Pocono area. I highly recommend this rental property - James & Wendy were great.
From start to finish James was a pleasure to talk to. Very helpful and responsive to all of my questions. Check-in and check-out out were super easy. The gated community is quiet and beautiful. Close to bars, deli's, grocery and liquor store. Literally just outside the gates! The cabin is rustic in the best way possible. And yet the appliances are brand new. Washer, dryer, fridge full of food, air conditioners, tv (which we didn't watch but appreciated the ability), WiFi works great too. Three upstairs bedrooms to choose from for guests or children Our two year old slept in one of them with the nice and clean crib that his house has available too! Clean sheets and new pillows and blankets. A nice bathroom up there as well. We slept downstairs in the master bedroom which has a King size bed and is wonderfully cozy (seriously we slept like so well there). The toy chest in the back porch is filled with a trove of things that kept our little one content all week. Games and activities as well. The back deck is perfect for having breakfast, lunch, and dinner al fresco. There was even a highchair! The house has several fire places and James is awesome enough to have loads of firewood available for you to use at will. The backyard also has a fire pit which we literally used every single night and made smores and drank whiskey after dinner until late. There is a garage with room enough for one car and driveway with plenty of room for others. The dock was perfect. Paddle boat, canoe, and kayaks all there for your use as well as life jackets and fishing gear with licenses! We loved canoeing around the lake. The water is calm and cool. There is a beach on one end which you can use with nice sand, a life guard, and everything. On top of all of this the gated community has several parks/recreational areas. We took full advantage of both them. We thought they might be awkward but they are LOVELY. One has an indoor pool and an outdoor pool and tennis courts and food. The other has a huge park, activities for kids as well as a fitness run for adults. It also has a large outdoor pool with a kids area which was like a water park to our two year old. I am running out of characters to type but I could keep going on all day about how great it is here! You won't be disappointed unless you hate fun. Check out Promised Land State Park while you are there and Mugs Restaurant. Bring some bug spray. Tell James and Wendy we said Hi!
The cabin was cozy and clean, with the added bonus of a beautiful lake front view! I can only echo what all the other reviewers have written. James was great to deal with. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked. There were plenty of bedding options so kindly provided by James and Wendy. We had bikes, kayaks, a canoe, fishing rods, fire pit, plenty of outdoor seating, great wifi, etc. We didn't use the amenities (indoor pool, gym) but appreciated having the option to do so. We drove 30 minutes to Bushkill Falls and had a great time. I could go on and on about all the positives. Needless to say the cabin did not disappoint and, assuming no one beats us to the punch, look forward to renting again next year!
