The view over the lake was stunning and amazing. The living area of the home was spacious. Some items were provided and any others not there (soap, shampoo, some cooking items) could easily be bought at the store a few minutes away. We used the kayaks one day, and having a grill on the deck was very convenient. We would definitely stay again when we come back to visit the area.

This is a five star keeper! Beautiful views, equipped kitchen and lots of linens available. We came here for a family wedding and this was a beautiful place to stay!

The home was exceptionally clean with the most beautiful view of the lake. The Hudson Valley was putting on a fall show of amazing colors. The host provided nice touch points, such as a bottle of wine for our arrival. He also communicated with me promptly and thoroughly. I cannot saw enough good things about this property. We will definitely plan to stay here again!

The house was just as described on the listing. Very clean, beautifully situated right on the lake and stocked with everything you could need. We had a great visit to Orange Lake. The home was just as described. Easy to communicate with and everything you could need for a relaxing weekend at the lake. We enjoy the kayaks, games in the deck, grilling and the bottle of wine. Close to activities and USMA! Would definitely come back!

We had the most relaxing 3 night stay at Don's vacation home. It is spacious and comfortable. Orange Lake right out the back door was a beautiful backdrop all throughout the day. Don gave us great recommendations for local restaurants too.It was the perfect weekend.

Fortunate to have found the time to spend a long weekend by the lake. Just the right remedy for our usual fast-paced schedules. Caught a beautiful sunset the first evening but every day was just as enjoyable.

The house, yard, and lake were beautiful. Everything was well-equipped, and it was clear it's a house that belongs to a real family and not corporation. The kitchen was well stocked (there was even a blender!), bedding was plentiful, and when the owner discovered there were no beach towels he brought some over. Even on a rainy weekend we had beautiful views, and with the lake so close we could dash out to swim and paddleboard whenever there was a break in the rain. Great experience overall!

This house is even better than the pictures and contains everything you need for a short trip around New York. My friends and I were in awe of the place and everything was just wonderful. We will be back again.

The property is beautiful. It was cold when we were there, so we weren't able to take advantage of the outdoor amenities. The owner was very kind and communicated at a high level. I would highly recommend this property.

My family and I are confused by all the 5 star reviews. The owners need to hire better cleaners because it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all prior to our visit and to be honest probably not in a while. Also, the house needs a major facelift. The light fixture in the kitchen was literally hanging off the ceiling exposing the wires and a big hole in the ceiling. Some lights did not work. I personally would not recommend this house and would suggest looking elsewhere. Fortunately, we were not at the house for a long period of time as it was a short visit to see family. Very disappointed!

I visited my college aged son over the weeend for a special event and wanted to stay somewhere with a little something special rather than a hotel. This property exceeded my expectations. Even with winter still lingering, the lake view was spectacular and was highlighted by the home's back wall of windows. Also, Don is a very responsive host and made sure the home had everything you could need - grill, grill tools, pots/pans, appliances, etc. I truly appreciated the hospitality. The vacation is very motivating, you feel like you are at home with all the comforts. A stunning view that makes you release all the accumulated stress. We were there for a few weeks and we will go again.

The lake was frozen the week we came, but still beautiful. My husband said we should return when it is warmer to enjoy it more. Was a great property for two couples since it had 2 separate bedrooms and bathrooms. And having a kitchen was great for preparing breakfast.

Beautiful, quiet property that was a great getaway from the city. A pair of bald eagles were circling the lake which was a really amazing surprise!

It was simply wonderful. We enjoyed every minute in the house. The view was perfect. Sunset was priceless. We did yoga in the morning looking at the frozen lake. Beds are very comfortable and the hot water in the shower was perfect.

We had an exceptional time using this property as our Thanksgiving base . Storm King , Dia and movie at the beacon theater. Wonderful experience in November . I am sure the summer and fall is also exceptional. Very responsive host . Thank you

Right on the shore of the lake but everything was private property so it was impossible to walk anywhere and enjoy the natural beauty-- unless you were on the water itself. (kayaks and lifejackets available). Owner super considerate and the home was of top quality. Decks and BBQ very nice. Great for family getaway.

We just stayed one night as something more comfortable that a hotel. Wish we had more time. Place was beautiful and would've love to enjoy the lake. Def would stay again

The home was a wonderful place with amazing views and the perfect size for our small Friendsgiving. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans and cleaning supplies were available. Our only critique was that some aspects of the house update you can tell are still in progress, but they’re more aesthetic updates. I’d recommend this home and would definitely come back in the future.

The open floor plan with the view of the lake is beautiful. We were disappointed that the fireplace does not work. The thermostat needs to be updated, it was difficult adjusting the temperature inside the house. The thermostat displayed low battery, we put in new batteries and the next day it displayed low battery again. The owner was very responsive. I would book again, just wish the fireplace worked and maybe a fire pit outside with some Adirondack chairs around it.

Wish we could have stayed longer but our schedules didn't allow.

Wonderful place! Beautiful view of lake Orange . Perfect property for me and my husband and my daughter. It was just a fabulous weekend. The next time we’re here from Texas. We will rent this place again. The property owner was amazing kind communicative it is I have nothing but wonderful things to say. Even the neighbors were excellent

Our group of 5 adults (including 3 twenty-somethings) greatly enjoyed our weekend on Lake Orange. The home was bright, clean, well-appointed, with an open living/dining space and a million dollar lakefront view, making the location and home ideal for a group getaway. Don was a wonderful host and very responsive to questions and special requests. Thanks for a great weekend, Don - wish we could have stayed longer!

Good location for activities in Hudson valley. Went to a game at West Point. 40 min drive. Great house, good beds plenty of space. Beautiful sunset. Very relaxing. Host went out of their way to make it easy Would definitely stay again

Nice lakefront house on a small quiet lake. No bites fishing from the dock though. Would’ve been nice to have a rowboat to fish from. Not far from Newburgh, major highways, or wineries. Just what the doctor ordered though. Thanks for having us!

We had an amazing stay! The hosts were kind enough to let us check in early so we could set up for a surprise for a friend, which was a great start. The home itself was BEAUTIFUL, right on the lake, with everything we needed—towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, you name it! They even offered us a late check-out (though we didn’t need it). The host was super communicative and friendly throughout. Honestly, this has been my favorite home rental in years, and I’ll definitely be booking again!

We were traveling back to our home in Maryland after spending a week up in New England. We chose this property because of the view (which is beautiful) as well as convenience to I-84. The property was just as pictured and very comfortable and welcoming. We sat outside on the dock and enjoyed a glass of wine and then ventured into the nearby town for dinner. When we returned we were rewarded with one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. Communication with the host was quick and efficient. Check-in/Check-out process was very easy. I would definitely recommend this property, especially if you have more than one night to enjoy the lake and surrounding area.

apparently my partner picked this place because they could tell how perfect the dock on the lake would be to propose to me! i couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful property to have this special memory at. and don had such kind things to say when we shared about this moment with him! if you want a calming and cozy escape, complete with kayaking on a serene lake and a quick drive into beacon, and/or a place to propose to your loved one — this is the spot!!

The property was beautiful. The lake was so quiet and serene. The house was lovely and Dan was very responsive to my inquiries. We definitely would consider coming back again and staying there during any season given how quiet and tranquil and relaxing it was.

We were in the area for West Point's Ring weekend. Stay couldn't have been better, beautiful, quiet location right on the water, utilized the kayaks, awesome deck, and amenities. Don is very responsive, even offered us a few extra hours before check out on Sunday which was so great for spending some extra time with our cadet, thanks so much!!

The stay at Orange Lake was magical. The property was beautiful and the views were spectacular. The property was open and airy with lots of windows.

Stayed here for a few summer days with our family and had a great time. House was clean and well stocked. We really liked the large communal area which kept our family together. The lake is amazing - we spent a lot of time kayaking and swimming. It was a beautiful getaway.

We brought our grandchildren (10&13) to visit our home town. I had so many plans to take them to various places. We ended up staying at the home much more than I expected. It was so much fun. Hours were spent swimming, fishing, kayaking and using the standup paddle board. Luckily the weather was perfect. Sunsets were amazing! The home was comfortable and enjoyable. We hope to return again.
