Cozy Dog Friendly Lakeview Cabin w/ Dock & Hot Tub

I was grateful to get a booking only a few weeks before the holiday weekend but certainly wish the reviews had steered me another way. Reviews are hard because not everyone's wonderful is the same. Nor everyone's terrible. For us though, this experience in this house was not good. First it's managed by a vacation rental company who seem to have too many to manage well or attend to details. We had to jump through many hoops and waivers and uploads off VRBO, which I am not comfortable with. Then we got there. There was no heat downstairs where the master bedroom is. There's also a beautiful rec room down there, sauna, pool table, cozy furniture to watch TV - but with no heat and bitter temperatures outside the whole bottom floor wasn't an option. The upstairs where 2 more bedrooms are and a little games area is was about 95º. I had to open all the windows at night just so the kids could sleep up there. I tried to reach the host from my VRBO app but they never answered through there. I searched online for a phone number, the instructions often led nowhere. Finally they told me instructions for the downstairs thermostat but those instructions were for a different house they managed. They delivered space heaters. Everything was dirty or broken. The cabinet under the sink doesn't have a floor. There wasn't any hot water at the kitchen sink. I've reached my word count limit but not the end of my list of reasons this house is a 1 star.

We enjoyed our week at Deep Creek. The house is in a great location. We rented a pontoon boat for the day and enjoyed having a dock to pull over. The house has great amenities. We really enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and pool table. Now, the downside. The beds are very uncomfortable. They really need to be replaced. As much as we enjoyed our stay, I would not come back because of the beds.

This cabin was fantastic. Everything was exactly as described in the listing and check-in couldn't have been easier (they texted us the door code). Each floor of the house has a bedroom and full bathroom, which was an ideal scenario for our group of adult couples. We were also pleasantly surprised by how well equipped the kitchen was for cooking - this is usually an area that is generally lacking for vacation rentals. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the mattresses weren't the most comfortable we've ever slept on. However, this didn't detract from the weekend at all. 10/10 would stay here again.

Everything was great, the hot tub and deck was wonderful and we loved the separation of the 3 floors for me and my partner (30ish) and my older family (60+). Proximity to the boat slip and lake were great. Only complaint is that the beds were terrible! The older folks complained about theirs on the main and second floor, ours on the basement level was so bad (like a boxspring) that we had to sleep on the couch one night and move a unused mattress from the second story up and down just to sleep. Overall 4.5/5 stars but they really need to spend the money on upgrading the beds soon. House was beautiful, just bring a mattress topper!

The house needs an updated kitchen area, utensils with new appliances. The current dishwasher and microwave were very loud when turned on. The rooms and basement got very cold at night. Uneven heating in the house. The sofas in the living room need an update. If its a pet friendly place there needs to be a fenced area. Overall, the place was nice and we enjoyed it. Distance to Wisp is about a 15 min drive.

nice place, nice area. ac unit could use servicing, as it did freeze up on us, on one of the hot days- but we turned it off and opened the windows and enjoyed the lake breeze.

Acorn Hill had all the amnenities I could ask for in a lake house. Good central location for outdoor activities at DCL state park and swallow falls

Very comfortable house, quiet neighborhood within a short drive of everything we wanted to see in the area, especially close to the Deep Creek State Park trails. House had everything we needed for a great stay, we can’t wait to come back
