Cozy, quaint one bdrm in historic Camp Gordon Johnston area. (Lanark Village, FL) It was perfect for our stay with our dog. Private yard for your dog, and parking. Friendly neighbors!
This was my first time to stay in this unit at Lanark Village. It was a spacious 1 bedroom/1 bath, with a small back porch and fenced in yard. My pups loved running around the yard. My Sister stayed in a different unit with her dog, which was a 5 minute walk. This was her 1st time to stay in the area, so I showed her around. In parking in the yard, there are pine trees which the host mentions and tells of a free parking lot around the area. I parked in the yard and have pine tar on my vehicle. No big deal to me, but might be to some folks. There is such wonderful history, in this old Florida community. I would definitely visit again! Thanks for the hospitality!!?
To start off the house was dirty, no toilet paper, the bathroom smells of mold. The listing stated the couch was a futon, it was not so my daughter had to sleep on a couch for the week. There is no garbage service at the house and the answer they gave me on what to do with the trash was to take it to the dumpster at the hardware store in town (which is a private dumpster)! The kitchen sink takes hours to drain after you do dishes and only a few of the burners work on the stove. There were still toothbrushes on the sink from previous guests when we arrived, and none of the doors will close and latch including the bathroom and main entry door. With a little maintenance and cleaning it could be a nice place to stay especially for the price.
We came to town with the intention of moving to Florida. After staying at this house, we decided that we loved the location, neighbors, and overall vibe of the place, we bought a house 3 blocks away! We closed 3 weeks after coming to town and are very happy to be here! Thank you, Jennifer!!
