Stayed May 31, 2026Had a great time. It’s a beautiful house and property. Walked the trail and found lady slippers in bloom. While cooking on the deck we watched a small bear wander through.

Stayed May 22, 2026Everything you could possibly want for a get away. Beds were comfortable. Living quarters were more than expected. Having a fire in the fireplace was wonderful and homey. We so enjoyed our relax and recharge weekend there. Definitely planning on a return trip.

Stayed Apr 19, 2026The cabin was cozy, the fireplace was the best, especially since it was a chilly early spring when we were there. It was pretty remote, which was nice but if you don't wish to be far from towns, etc. this may not be the place for you. Some of the dirt roads were an experience! The steps getting into the home and off the deck were a bit wonky with no railing to hold onto. The property was very peaceful. It would've been nice to know the property lines so that we could've walked through more of the woods other than the one trail we found. The beds were comfortable, water pressure in the shower was great and they provide all that you need to feel like this is your home away from home. Beautiful wood beams, ceilings and floors. I would recommend cleaning the cobwebs from the wood beams. I understand it's in the woods but not something you want to see when you look up to admire the beauty of the wood. Other than that, it was a peaceful place and very cozy. No cell phone reception at the home which once you got used to that, it was refreshing to disconnect. Thank you for sharing your home so others may experience beautiful Vermont!

Stayed Mar 5, 2026Room were very clean. The build in wood stove takes the gold medal. Very easy to get going and maintain. It’s a bit of a drive to ski resorts but the price point and beautiful Townshend area makes up for it. Where can you drive over a beautiful working dam to get to your rental?Skene Acres has everything you need.

Stayed Feb 6, 2026This cabin is such a gem! The pictures definitely don’t make justice to the place. My boyfriend, a friend and I spent the weekend so we could go skiing at Mt. Snow (25-30min), and even when it was too cold for that, we had such a great time just hanging out at the house, it’s so cozy. You have to plan around the lack of cellphone service, but at the house the WiFi works perfectly. The property is so beautiful, surrounded by trees. If you like rustic, olden days atmosphere, you’ll love it! The hosts take very well care of the place and are such nice people. They have a dvd player and a disco player, which we had so much fun with! We’ll definitely be coming back.

Stayed Jan 25, 2026This is our second stay at the cozy cottage. It had everything to accommodate us and our dogs. It is super clean and everything we needed was provided. The hosts are wonderful and were able to get us in a little early so we would not be driving in the big snow storm. We appreciate their hospitality so much!

Stayed Jan 16, 2026Definitely need 4 wheel drive vehicle if staying here in winter months. House is located 2 miles into the woods up a steep dirt road that may not be reliably maintained/plowed during snow and ice storms, so be prepared. House is cozy, beds are comfy, dog friendly, great DVD collection, and wood burning stove fireplace. A good place to unplug and relax. Poor cell reception at house and surrounding area. 40-45 mins to Stratton across winding back roads. House is very off the beaten path if you’re skiing. Not much of anything in the immediate area food wise so plan ahead to cook at the house.

Stayed Nov 27, 2025Fantastic! We absolutely enjoyed our time at the cottage. There was everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. From all the movies and games that you could want along with a warm and peaceful environment. The owners thought of everything so there was no need to fuss . If you are looking to get away and relax this is the place for you. We left relaxed and very content with our stay .

Stayed Oct 16, 2025It was perfect; the directions were clear, every little detail was attended to. The views of the foliage from every wonder were spectacular, and the night sky was breathtaking.Shampoo, conditioner, bodywash in bathroom, ample selection of DVDs, puzzles, and board games. Very peaceful. Cozy yet spacious enough. Easy to check in and check out. Hope to come back before to long!

Stayed Feb 19, 2025My son and I spent 4 nights 5 days up in VT and thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. It was the perfect size for the two of us, two bedrooms 1 full bath, nice living room with a wood fireplace, kitchen and dining area. We ate in three of the evenings, grilled steaks one night.Communication with Craig was very responsive and informative. I found all the listing information to be accurate. The home is located off the beaten path, very private, a beautiful area.I would recommend it to anyone looking for a rustic cabin with most amenities of home!

Stayed Feb 2, 2025We loved our stay at this cozy cottage. It was exactly the private getaway we needed and a bonus that we could bring our 2 dogs! The house was very clean, well stocked, and comfortable. River Bend Farm Market is only 12 minutes away and had everything we needed to cook dinner each night. We spent most of our days at Mount Snow, and took the extra drive to Okemo for one day. Everything about this trip was wonderful. We hope to be back again!

Stayed Jan 13, 2025We loved this cabin in the woods. This was our second stay here. More than enough room for my wife and I and 26 year old daughter. Beautiful and rustic with a working wood stove and plenty of wood on hand. Kitchen is well stocked. Be warned that road access is a little challenging - steep unpaved road to get there - but our non-4x4 minivan could make it. Lots of good hiking in nearby Jamaica, and the neighboring small towns are charming. Craig was a great host and very responsive.

Stayed Nov 27, 2024This was our second time staying here, and we were surprised by quite the snow storm on Thanksgiving day. Ended up with over a foot of snow and the wind was howling at times, but we were tucked in cozy with the wood stove. We never lost power but lost Internet for most of the day of the storm as it is satellite wi-fi, but there is a vast collection of movies we could choose from to pass the time. The house was clean and the host responds to messages very quickly. We very highly recommend this home for anyone looking for some peace and quiet.

Stayed Sep 26, 2024This property is really “in the “woods” We enjoyed our stay, so peaceful. The foliage was beautiful. There was a lot of DVD’S to watch, no cable or regular channels. There was also a record player with many albums to choose from. Comfortable mattresses and pillows. Very well equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal at the house. River Bend Farm Market is about 15 minutes away and it has ready to go food, sandwiches, everything you need to find at a grocery store. Great communication with the owners, they replied within minutes to all my messages. The furnace works great , it warmed up the cottage really quickly. We went to a few towns near by, Grafton, Bellow Falls, Manchester, Brattleboro and we drove to St. Johnsbury (2 1/2 hrs) to visit the beautiful Chapel at Dog Mountain.i recommend to go there and also the Vermont Country Store in Bellow Falls. We had a very nice time.
