Stayed Jan 22, 2026Everything was in good order, and we visited in literally the coldest days of this winter and the heat kept up magnificently, it was very cozy. We were sad when we had to leave early due to the weather, to make our changed flight. My only complaints: the parking situation could really be spelled out better in advance- but it's probably not a problem when the weather is nice and the signs aren't covered by snow; also, the pans in the kitchen are probably due for a refresh. Otherwise, everything else was perfect and cozy.

Stayed Oct 13, 2025Peterson Mill is a unique and special property. My husband and I and our toy poodle felt right at home. The location in Saugatuck is perfect. The property is near downtown and walkable without feeling crowded and is immediately adjacent to boat docks and a nice restaurant. Our little dog enjoyed the treats and the ball, which were kindly supplied by the owner. The property is next to a pond and a pretty little stream that once supplied the power for the mill. As mentioned by others, the indoor staircase is pretty steep, but handrails are conveniently located, and you can always use the standard outdoor stairs that lead to a nice deck with a dining table and chairs and views of the Kalamazoo River. We highly recommend the property and will be returning when we vacation again in the Saugatuck area.

Stayed Aug 24, 2025We loved the opportunity to stay in such a historic and unique place. It was very cozy and clean and the location was great. Saugatuck is such a beautiful area and we had a great time. We especially loved the sunset cruise on the Star of Saugatuck.

Stayed Jul 22, 2025I stayed with my kids and we went fishing in the small river that runs around the house. We saw lots of wildlife—baby deer, geese, ducks, swans, and turtles—which was fun to watch. It’s a short walk into town or to the marina (though swimming isn’t allowed as far as I know). Oval Beach is very close, just a beautiful drive around the water.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This mill is tailored perfectly to anyone who likes a rustic aesthetic. That being said it still has virtually all ammenities modern homes need. So best of both worlds. It is however definitley suited for just 2 guests with the size that it is, which is what we were. But we loved our stay in this small abode. It is also just a 10 minute walk from downtown saugatuck and a 15 minute drive from Holland. So it is located perfectly for sightseeing!

Stayed Aug 30, 2024A very nice place to stay. Pictures where very accurate as far as the rooms and surroundings of the building. Didn't use the kitchen, ate out too much......The only thing to consider when renting, the inside steps are rather steep, if you are an older person it might not be the best place for you. I would have no issues renting it again. First time staying in Saugatuck, charming town with much to do. Nice beach, good restaurants, easy to enjoy yourself here.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The property was so clean! The kitchen was well stocked with anything you could need. The pullout sofa is very old and the mattress is a joke. It is very thin and has a sizeable hole on the back of one corner. Thankfully, we brought an air mattress just in case. This property is really most comfortable for couple who will sleeping in the bedroom and only use the sofa for seating. The stairs down to the bedroom are very steep (almost like a ladder) so not recommended for those with mobility issues. We loved the view of the pond and it was a relaxing setting. Short 10-minute walk into downtown Saugatuck.
