We had a very nice stay! Beautiful view?. The kitchen had everything we needed. Will definitely stay again!
We booked because the mixed reviews made this place sound extra adventurous. We were all pleasantly surprised and had great fun reading the guest book. It was much bigger than expected with more bedrooms than we thought. Room for everyone!
There were some safety deficiencies which were made apparent after the owner let us know there was an issue with one of the bathrooms. He went out of his way to let us know., which we appreciated. We have discussed with the owner the problems we found and he was very fast to respond that he would have them dealt with immediately. The property is lovely and we did have a great stay. If and when the deficiencies have been dealt with it will be a lovely place to stay again in the future.
The structure is literally listing into the bay-uneven floors etc. Needs foundation work. Uneven floors need heads up to visitors-trip & fall hazards. When owners install high tech entertainment systems (streaming, multiple TV's, etc.) it would help if they understand them and leave comprehensive instuctions- we've seen this in numerous VRBO's. But nice view, good location, and quiet introduction to Puget Sound area and it's attractions. Sorry for the lawyer in me...TP
We were able to check in a little early, which was nice. The house is quirky, sloping floors and a closet with bunkbeds, but we enjoyed that part. Nothing like a cookie cutter condo. Beds were extremely comfortable. Beautiful surroundings. The only negative was the stairs down to the water were a little rickety, and the path to get all the way down is cluttered with large logs. A little precarious, especially for older folks, and littles, too. Kitchen is well appointed with everything you could need. We couldn’t get the tv upstairs to work. That was a bummer. Also, there’s an ant problem. We left a package of jerky out and it was swarmed by the next morning. We highly recommend staying here and will try to stay again.
The photos are from a past life for this home. This is NOT what it looks like now. The entire house leans towards the water and while upstairs you could easily have vertigo issues. The bunk bed room has mildew/mold on ceiling and wall. The WiFi is unstable-no WFH- the TVs are a pain and not user friendly. The kitchen is well stocked but oven doesn’t work well; BBQ so janky you wouldn’t want to use it even if you trusted standing on the deck it’s on. It’s a good sized house, can accommodate a big group easily but overall do not recommend for the price. Close to $400 in fees and we still have to strip the beds and start the laundry?
The house looks much nicer than it is in the photos. The floors are crazy uneven and the house has a musty smell mixed with a faint hint of propane. We had all the doors and windows open and is still smelled bad. The carpet on the stairs and upstairs is filthy. The beds were comfortable and we had a good time, but the property is misrepresented. We contacted the property owner when we found the coffee pot was missing a part and didn't work and never heard back after he said he'd contact the housecleaner. It has potential but really needs a lot of work.
You can’t beat the views from this house! The house is a bit older and has a lot of character for sure but was perfect for our weekend. The beds were comfortable enough with soft linens. We had most items we needed to cook but if there are any specialty tools you need (in my case cutting butter into flour); make sure to bring yourself. There’s plenty of parking for four cars but anymore is really tight in the neighborhood. You’re less than 10 minutes from downtown so there’s plenty to do!
This property needs work. There were no screens on the kitchen-living room area window or slider door so without AC you needed to open them for air flow but then you had to deal with bugs. The view was nice but the windows were dirty and ivy was growing on the glass that blocked some of the view. The big window in the living room was broken, glass was all taped together to hold it together. The place smelled bad so we bought some candles to try to help. The floors were not level and the stairs were uneven and dirty. Would not rent again.
I can't believe VRBO allows such a property on their listings. The pictures are not accurate. The only thing going for it is the view and location. Poorly Built and Run down: The builder never used a level. Each floor is sloping a different direction so bad you can feel it as you walk. The steps are uneven. There are half steps at the top and bottom of the stairs. There are random half steps up and down with each room. NOT good for toddlers or old people. There is duct tape on some broken tile. The kitchen drawer falls out easily. The dishwasher falls forward when opened all the way. The carpet is filthy. The heater has other vents coming from it not shown in the picture. So much more to describe. DANGEROUS: There are open areas on the deck to fall off. It can't be to code. The furnace control doesn't have a dial on it so you can't tell if it is on or off. The stove sometimes lites but most of the time only gets a few flames. BUGS and HOT: There is only one window that opens in the living room and it doesn't have a screen. The door doesn't have a screen either. So the place gets hot and full of bugs. The upstairs is even worse. There are only two windows that open. The twin beds are in a closet that feels like a smelly, musty sauna. There were ants collecting on any food left out. STINKS: You can smell the septic when you walk out the door or while sitting on the patio enjoying the view. DISGUSTING VIEW and Location: Is the only thing going for this place. It is steps to the beach, steep narrow steps. The views out the window are not as seen in the picture. There is ivy climbing up the windows, a window is broken and taped up, two others have broken seals so there is condensation, and the trees are starting to grow to block the view. Cleanliness: It was cleaned well. There are nice, clean, new, white towels. The beds are comfortable. The furniture in the living room is acceptable. Owner communication: The power went out. When I called the owner, he got back immediately. He said it often looses power especially in wind storms...it wasn't windy. I told him we would be leaving early if the power stayed off. He implied that we weren't going to get any money back. Luckily, the power returned. OVERALL: The pictures and description are deceiving.
