We were disappointed as soon as we drove up. The Cozy Alpine Cottage did not exist. We couldn't even tell it was an A frame for all the overgrowth. The photos must be several years old. As soon as we walked into the front door we found ourselves in the garage! Then in the laundry room and then the kitchen. There was a distinct stuffy/mildew smell. The upstairs bedroom is large but the shower in the bathroom can only be used by very short adults and children. That left 3 of the 4 women using one bathroom. There was also an odor to the (well) water. Very stinky and unpleasant for brushing teeth and showering. We bought bottled water to use for drinking and making coffee. The deck railing is a safety hazard. Luckily no one hurt themselves but it needs to be fixed. I pointed this out but got no response. Our initial communications were answered promptly but when I mentioned the railing on the deck got no response. The house is old and the exterior has not been well maintained. It is very overgrown and needs lots of work. The deck and railing and outside table and chairs are showing a LOT of wear. We felt that the photos misrepresented what we found when we walked in.

This little nugget is so perfectly nestled in a great spot to get to beach and then re group back at the house for dinner and a campfire. There is plenty of sleeping areas to fit 12 without a problem The hostess is a good communicator and she has the house stocked nicely. I would recommend this house for anyone traveling to this area. We look forward to coming back.

We loved staying here for a long weekend. The house is charming, cozy, and very comfortable. It was easy to find once we received directions from the owner. Highly recommend!
