Stayed Dec 26, 2025Perfect stay, minutes to Timberline and Canaan Ski resorts! We’ve been making day trips to Canaan Valley for skiing for three years now, and this was our first time staying in the area. Black Bear Resort is nestled in the valley with a stunning view of Timberline, the room was spotless, the en-suite jacuzzi tub was much needed after a day on the slopes, and the bed was comfy with lots of extra pillows and blankets available. Check in was a breeze, and we were able to quickly drop off our key this morning in the drop box before heading into Davis to grab breakfast. 10/10 would stay here again for our next trip!

Stayed Nov 2, 2025Suite 133 was lovely, spotless and perfect for our short trip to the area. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice. Just a note-if you have mobility problems, you need to climb in the jacuzzi tub to access the shower. The water takes a bit to heat up, but it eventually does nicely. I would recommend this suite for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful areas of WV.
