We loved our week long stay at Martin's Place. The cottage is surprisingly roomy, pleasantly quirky and we felt great value for money. The WIFI was excellent so we were able to watch Netflix, YouTube and play on-line games simultaneously on our devices which kept us all happily entertained. Whilst staying we toured Co Mayo from Glencar Waterfall and Sligo following the Wild Atlantic Way over the week to reach Westport. Such a treat to be able to come back each evening - thank you!

The house is very charming, with tasteful furniture and excellent equipment in the kitchen. We were four and we had plenty of space. The person who is managing the property locally was super nice and helpful. We had a wonderful and peaceful time in Mayo! (Do use the Eircode to find the property)

My parents, my brother and I spent 4 nights at Martin's house from 30 July to 3 August 2022. We really had a lovely time. The views from this house are just amazing. The kitchen has every utensil and cooking pot or dish you will need for cooking a family meal. The house is so cosy. We used the house as a base for exploring North Mayo and it was great. We were all a bit sad to check out on the last morning. Tom the caretaker was really great and gave us good advice on the local area. I would love to return to this lovely place one day. Leading a stressful schedule at work, this place did the trick allowing us to all to relax and get away from it all for a few days. 5 stars from my family from Fermanagh.

The property has a wonderful location and the good weather during our stay meant we could make the most of the scenic views. The property is quite old and would benefit greatly from an upgrade and a little modernisation. However, it was really well equipped with crockery and utensils, and all the appliances worked well, although the washing machine was a bit temperamental. In Martin's absence, Tom helped us settle in very quickly and sorted out any minor problems and queries we had. The furniture and fittings throughout were rather old and dark and some redecoration would make the place brighter and more modern. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the property, which provided an excellent base for exploring the scenic surrounding area. We had two meals in The Arch restaurant in Killala, and would recommend giving it a try. Killala also had a good supermarket which saved us the journey into Ballina. The wifi was good and despite the television being tuned for German programmes, we were able to use a link through our laptop to display UK TV programmes during our stay.

Our family had had a rough two weeks, and really needed to get away. This cottage was perfect. Beautiful view of the bay and quaint farmland from kitchen and the sunroom. Manager (Tom) and owner both extremely responsive. Would recommend as a base for anyone staying in that area. Kitchen well equipped so we mainly cooked at home.
