Summary:

** Located in a residential neighborhood **

** No parties or events permitted; no loud outdoor activity after 9 PM **

** NOISE FROM UPSTAIRS guests can often be heard **

A great guest space with total privacy and it's own entrance, patio, and fire pit. Wesley heights is a cool historic district and one of the few neighborhoods that's a short walk to center city. Please note that this is an older historic home and so there's very little sound-proofing in the ceiling (footsteps, noises, etc).

The Space:

Walk to uptown in 10 mins, Johnson Whales University in 9 mins, Bank of America stadium in 8 mins, 3rd Ward Park in 3 min, Frazier Park in less than 60 secs. Or walk 10 mins to Wesley Heights' downtown area (lots of bars & restaurants). $5 Uber ride to Noda, South End, Plaza Midwood, and other cool areas. This is a wonderful in-law suite with a private entrance and private patio. The space has totally privacy from the main home, but both can be rented at the same time if desired (just check out my other listings and look for Charming home, historic district, walk to the city). This wonderful home has been totally remodeled with brand new kitchen and bathroom. The back patio is also fully fenced in, completely private, has a lovely fire pit (wood provided!), plenty of chairs, and a gas grill too. You'll have access to the entire suite. It is downstairs from the main home (also an Airbnb), but completely separate, with total privacy and its own entrance. Both homes can be rented at the same time to accommodate even larger groups if available. And there is plenty of free street parking. I am available for questions or help at any time. Contact me as much or as little as you'd like :) Of all Charlotte’s historic neighborhoods, Wesley Heights may be the best-kept secret. Located due west of Uptown and within a stone’s throw of Bank of America Stadium, this enclave dates back to the early 1900s. Protected as an Historical District, a drive through the neighborhood’s leafy streets tells you that most of its Arts and Crafts homes are in good stead today. The elegant Wadsworth Estate on South Summit Avenue, just 2 blocks away, thrives as a popular event venue. The greenway that runs through the north part of the neighborhood (only a short walk away) is much-used by neighbors for exercise and sociability. Convenience is key to Wesley Heights’ popularity. The neighborhood sits just outside the I-77/I-277 loop circling uptown Charlotte, and the entrance to I-77 is a half-mile away. With shady suburban streets combined with quick access to uptown, Wesley Heights holds the same appeal for Charlotte urbanites today as when it was originally built. Getting around Charlotte is easy from Wesley Heights. The neighborhood borders major roads like I-77, Morehead Street, 4th Street, and Freedom Drive for a quick drive anywhere in the city.

** Because you're so close to the city, you can often hear city noises (traffic, etc) while on the back patio; the inside of the home is perfectly quiet, although it is below the main home and you will sometimes hear footsteps from above.

This property is close to the uptown area and very walkable, it is not close to the CAT transit system. The area is actually a Historic District of town and everything is well kept up and clean. We traveled to see Charlotte FC play at Bank of America Stadium and it was 10 minute walk.

Jason's place has a nice layout and the mattresses and sheets were amazing! We appreciated that we could walk to the Bank of American Stadium for a game and not have to worry about parking. Like others have mentioned the noise from the guests upstairs can be rather disrupting - depending on how they walk and if there are children. Jason has provided earplugs and a sound machine to help block out some of the noise.

I picked this place because it was within walking distance to the concert venue we were in town to see. Everything was great about the stay except we could hear every step the people above us took all night long. This had been mentioned either in the description or in other reviews but it was very noticeable. They had a sound machine in the bedroom but I still woke up multiple times because the upstairs guests were walking around late into the night. It didn’t sound like they were being loud on purpose but it was still very noticeable. I know it was a basement but I didn’t sleep well. The beds were very comfy. If you are a light sleeper like me, I do not recommend this spot for you. Other than that, the host was great and check in was a breeze!

Everything about the stay was really nice, very clean, Jason was very friendly, helpful and quick to respond but my favorite part was the oh so comfy bed which is typically hard to find when away from home! I would definitely recommend!

Great place! Clean, equipped, spacious, and accessible to downtown. Very well lit considering you are in a basement. Comments about upstairs noise and traffic are legitimate but they’ve done as much as can expected. You are in the city. Communication was awesome and check in easy. Two thumbs up!

Very cute, very clean. Loved the washer/dryer. The neighborhood is very nice. People had mentioned the sounds from upstairs. While we could hear footsteps, it wasn't terribly intrusive. We would definitely stay here again.

All the amenities you would want food was always close by quiet other than Highway noise but you're downtown so what would you expect all in all a plus

It was perfect for me (alone). Lovely space and right on a bus line or brief walk to light rail. I felt very safe coming home late. As it is downstairs, it felt damp. My towels never completely dried and they were hung up. A dehumidifier would likely help. I’d stay here again
