Lynchburg, Virginia
Nestled downtown in Lynchburg’s historic Daniels Hill, Uprising (c.1875) rises up from the James River and the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains. Originally built in 1875, the space was thoughtfully & carefully restored in 2022 as a testament to the possibility & power of renewal – a power that exists in each of us. A stone’s throw from the Lynchburg Museum System’s historic Point of Honor, Uprising welcomes guests to experience a truly unique, Victorian era Lynchburg home whose creative, contemporary & quality aesthetic is a deep breath of fresh air.
Re-designed with guests at heart, you’ll feel at home the moment you step into this nouveaux antique experience. Uprising’s accommodations have been thoughtfully hand-curated by the host, and include an open floor plan with two bedrooms, two full baths (w/ antique clawfoot soaking tub), antique heart pine floors, a built-in electric fireplace, a large modern gourmet kitchen, generous porch and balcony space overlooking the James River Valley.
Fenced all the way around with a privacy fence in the rear, Uprising offers a gated entry for the home’s two-car, off street parking. Minutes walk to the black water creek bike trail, 35 minutes to the blue ridge parkway and Appalachian trail, just minutes drive or 10 min walk to downtown Lynchburg’s restaurants, and convenient to all major highways.
This house is absolutely gorgeous. We never left until we checked out.
Stunning, remodeled historic home with hidden references to the original structure. Thoughtful modern finishes that bring warmth and comfort to your stay. There is even a view of the river from the gourmet kitchen which was completely unexpected. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Lynchburg!
Really cool remodeled home just off the beaten path. Loved the pictures of the process. Everything we needed for our weekend stay at a great price.
Nice touches and beautiful design. Perfect for a quick stay in Lynchburg.
Beautiful house the kids were very impressed We really enjoyed our stay I wish we would have been able to stay longer. The house was clean and cozy we loved the way the house has been remodeled mixing the old and new
Gorgeous fully-renovated property in the historic Lynchburg district, close to downtown. The owner was incredibly responsive and flexible working with us! Lots of personalized touches, including dog bowls, kids utensils, coffee, blackout shades, etc… We enjoyed seeing some of the history preserved in the home as well! Just a note, the bedroom upstairs, while very private with the stairwell, does not have a physical door. It was no problem for us, since we had the downstairs bedroom to work with, but figured anyone traveling with kids may want to know for sleeping arrangements. Overall great place to stay!
