Located 10 minutes from historic Downtown Sandusky, 10-15 minutes to Cedar Point, 10-15 minutes to Sports Force, Waterparks, and fishing! This property also features a fire pit in the back for your enjoyment (firewood not provided) along with a propane grill on the back deck.
The home has an accurate description and photos. It's very clean, with all the basic amenities for a stay. We stayed with a group of friends and it was great to be able to play board games at the dining table or go hang out in the hot tub. I didn't think we'd use the hot tub given the warm weather, but it turned out to be a nice treat. Read the driving directions carefully, look for the little blue lights by the road to indicate the driveway. And yes, it is pretty close to a major road so there can be some road noise. I'm a light sleeper and I'm the only one it kept awake. The property manager (Jess) was 6 stars, super responsive to questions and a fix-it request on the screen door.
The description is pretty accurate. Very cute kinda farmhouse charm. There are two things that I would have changed. The house is right by a major traffic area. So the constant noise made sleeping very hard unless you drown it out by fan or some other means. The second would be the the lack of / and limitation of house hold items. We have a 6 year old and her cousin 9 with us. Anyone with children understands that they don’t just eat 3 times a day. It’s a constant all day long so to only have 2 dish washer pods for 3 days was not ideal. I’m also used to having a bit more personal items available. Shampoo,Conditioner, hair dryer ect. None of these items were available. Jess was great and brought wood for the fire which was greatly appreciated and she was very friendly and informative.
Very nice pace and great location. I would stay again
Overall the property was good. Short drive to cedar point and boat ramp. I saw about five Carpentor ants in the front bathroom. The hot tub was really, really over Chlorinated. Would have loved to see an exterior outlet to plug in the boat.
My family of 6 was visiting Sandusky for my daughter’s dance Nationals, and because we needed a kitchen and more space, we chose to stay at a VRBO instead of the Kalahari Resort. This house, while small, had a bed for everyone, and plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run around. The kitchen had the basics, but because I am a private chef, I would’ve liked to have had more measuring spoons/cups, cutting boards, and glass bakeware. The sitting room was cozy and the TV had all the channel options and streaming services. The loft space was perfect for my kids to spread out, and the AC units did a good job keeping the area comfortable. Be sure to bring your own hair dryer, because I never found one in the house. We utilized the outdoor space, and loved the volleyball net (bring a ball!) and fire pit. The house is literally on the corner of two highways, which isn’t ideal, but there is a thick tree line that blocks the view. As long as my kids played in the backyard and on the grass to the right of the gravel driveway, I felt they were safe. There is a 5G tower across the street, so if you’re worried about EMF exposure, this wouldn’t be a good fit for you. I wish I had known that before I booked. Overall, this was a great home away from home. The booking and check in process was easy, and Jess was very prompt and polite.
Communication with the owner was top notch. She kept in touch since we started the booking process 6 months before the stay. She let use know about a burn ban in effect before we arrived than when she got the oaky from the fire department she let us know and told us we’re to get wood if needed. There was a tornado warning while we were there and she was a quick response when I texted her asking where the best spot to go in the house was. We followed the posted rules for the house and when we left I texted her to let her know we have left so the planned cleaning crew could come early if needed. We’d stay there again if we decided to go back to the area.
Several years ago I started an annual get-away weekend (3-4 days) for my wife, 3 daughters, and 1 granddaughter. With my wife and I in our 70's I wanted the experiences to be ones that created lasting memories for the girls once my wife and I are gone. This rental did not disappoint as they had a wonderful time . They said the property was charming, close to community activities, and very clean and comfortable. As in past rentals the only frustration is how long after the initial deposit and balance is sent, that it takes to get the property entrance information. I don't fault the owner because with all rental properties there is probably a concern about releasing such information (especially if number coded) too early as others may be renting the property before our arrival. Just being a person who likes all their i dotted and t crossed ahead of time, it would be more comfortable for me to have that entry detail a few weeks in advance. That said I would not hesitate to rent the same property again as the owner clearly maintains it well and does a fine job of making it comfortable for her/his renters.
Easy access to accommodations. Property was well kept and very clean. Propert owners were very helpful and quick to respond to questions.
The property owner was very nice and replied back quickly to any question I had. The house was very nice, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The house was not that far from stores and restaurants.
Things got off to a rocky start for our stay. Due to a scheduling conflict we had to reduce our stay from 3 nights to just 2. Thankfully, Jess was super easy to communicate with though this hiccup. Once we arrived we loved everything about the Vrbo. The driveway for the property is slightly hidden but not too difficult to find, especially after the first time. Check-in was very easy. Everything in the home was as expected and very clean. The decor is even more cozy and inviting in person. Our group included 3 couples and there was enough space for us all to be comfortable. The barstools in the kitchen were useful as extra seating in the living room. Outside, we enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor seating as well. Despite being cornered by 2 main roads it was not an issue at all. The noise level was hardly noticeable and there is plenty of privacy. Our only recommendation would be the addition of a few board or card games such as Uno, playing cards, etc. Overall we would certainly stay again!
Overall, this house was absolutely perfect for us parents, my dad and 5 children under 12. We were expecting bunk beds as pictured, but there was a double bed in its place which was fine. There was also a futon pictured in the upstairs that was not there. We were flexible in adjusting and thankfully had brought 2 inflatable mattresses. We were given the wrong code to enter the house, but the owner was quick to call and give us the correct code. We would definitely recommend and would rent again!
We stayed at the house while we were in town for a baseball tournament. The home was very clean and decorated/setup very cute. Beds were comfortable and our kids enjoyed the big yard and hot tub. The light out back on the deck was not working so it was hard to sit out back in the evening with no lights. Also the window in the one guest room would not lock/close all the way. But the real bummer was the location- This house is right next to a busy road and all night you had to listen to trucks and motorcycles blast by. No one slept good bc of the noise from the traffic.
