Comfortable Living in Casual 100 yr old Home, 10 min walk to Stonington Village

A quiet place outside of town with nature around. Outdoor seating option. Owner next door and very responsive.

The host Dorothy was great, easy access to route 1, close to westerly and Mystic.. apt was comfortable , had everything we needed..

Close to Salt Water Vineyard, downtown Stonington and Mystic. Though there isn’t AC there are ceiling fans and standing fans and I slept great. Neighborhood is very quiet. It’s was a perfect place for one. Extremely clean and owner responds quickly to questions.

This is a 100 year old home that has been divided into a first floor and a second floor apartment. You stay in the first floor. The apartment consists of a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bath room. Walls are plaster, floors are hardwood with throw rugs, kitchen counter top is glazed tile. It is like stepping into a time machine that is spotless. If you want or need the cookie cutter amenities of the current chain motels/hotels this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a quiet older home with a wonderful hostess, this is it.

Host was exceptional! Price was right-

My stay was quite short as I just need a place to crash for one night. This house was simple but lovely, with many of the modern conveniences in a vintage setting. The host was helpful and responsive. The place was spotless! I wish I had had more time to see the plants and trees on the property which were lovely. I would happily return and recommend the place for couples or a small family, or girls' outing.

Dorothy was a wonderful host. Very clear and easy communication, and accommodated us with a last-minute change without issue. The apartment was as described and everything was in working order. What an excellent stay in a beautiful little town!

We were charmed by the property and kindness of Dorothy. The house is very cute and spotless clean. All equipment and amenities were as described in the listing, Dorothy sent a list of local attractions and places to eat which we used and were very pleased. We loved it!

Quiet and safe area. Disappointed with appliances for breakfast. Definitely ok if you’re not looking for more aesthetic housing. First ARBB I stayed at that didn’t have upgraded coffee maker, toaster and no access to coffee or tea. Would have been better with coffee for AM.

Very clean and comfortable. The host was kind and cared about our experience. Quiet and off the beaten path; a hidden gem for sure, wonderful place to stay if you find yourself in the area! Check in was easy and the kitchen was full size with all appliances, basic necessities to cook meals to save money and enjoy the local seafood.

It was an amazing place to stay! We felt so comfortable in the calm and quiet spot! It is very close to everything so we were able to tackle Mystic Aquarium, Old Mystic Village, and Misquamicut Beach!! We would definitely stay again!

I highly recommend this property!It is a quaint old house. Listing photos are 100% accurate. and there everything you need.Kitchen has dishware, utensils, mugs, glassware, cookware, etc.Plenty of towels, bed linens, pillows. Full bathroom with bathtub & shower. Everything worked perfectly. The owner Dorothy is very helpful and available for questions. Once reservation was confirmed, she provided written information for arrival and check-in procedure, amenities, etc. - very helpful for planning.I would definitely stay there again.

A great little place to stay a few days. Was very happy with the whole set up. Barbara was great and was responsive.

For an older home we found it simple and functional.We loved the big fridge because we were travelling with food and wanted to keep things cool. The bed was very good but the pull out sofa bed was not at all comfortable which was unfortunate.Overall a nice place to stay for two poeple sharing the bed.

Excellent location, peaceful porch swing, tidy home, nice shower. Everything we needed for a short stay to explore the area. Host was responsive and kind! Note the sofa bed for extra guest is a very typical sofa bed in terms of comfort. Living room has less privacy, does have blackout window curtains, one open door to kitchen, door between living room and bedroom is sliding style with gaps. Parking was easy. Would stay again!

We had a lovely stay and felt very welcomed by Dorothy! I had an issue unlocking the door and she came over immediately to help. The apartment was spotless and cozy with views of her lovely gardens, located in a beautiful residential neighborhood. Very pleasant to walk from there to the marina where our boat was docked. We will be back next year!

Simple clean and comfortable in nice neighborhood

I returned to Stonington to visit friends, celebrate my Birthday, and check in with my medical team in Westerly. Dorothy's place was perfect in all regards ... convenient, clean, easy in, easy out, although modest, it reflects an old New England home, warm, friendly, and open. NOT extravagant, ostentatious, not over the top, but rather welcoming. AND Dorothy is the BEST neighbor you could want while traveling. Available, Friendly, Accommodating ... just a super person!

We stayed at this house for the weekend and found that it had the bare essentials we needed for a short stay—nothing fancy, but it got the job done. The owner let us extend our checkout and the hot water was excellent—long, hot showers were a big plus, especially after running a half marathon! What really stood out was the owner’s communication—responsive, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay.

We will be back!

My husband and I had the best time for a long weekend at Dorothy's property. The very specific charm to the area was very apparent in this cottage! Even the bathroom was just adorable with the floral tile! It was very clean and the perfect size for us (could easily accommodate more than 2 with the pull out sofa). Minutes away from Stonington and Mystic, there is so much to do. We will definitely be back! I already miss hearing all the birds while sitting on the back porch swing.

Had everything I needed for a week trip visiting stonington. Appreciated the hosts responsiveness and the apartment was very clean. Also had a good bookshelf with stonington history!

We are Florida peeps…had a wedding at the winery down the road. This was perfect for this trip.

Dorothy is amazing! She was very communicative and flexible. The weather was perfect and I didn't want to leave. The location was perfect for my trip to visit my daughter, close to her and everything else I wanted to do. I would love to visit again!

We loved staying at Dorothy’s place! She was great to communicate with. The home is beautiful and in a great location. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

When we arrived, the VRBO app stopped working and I could not review the check-in/check-out procedure, so I'm not sure if the instructions were there or not, but I could not figure out how to get into the house. There are several door options. Dorothy was out of town for the weekend and provided a secondary contact. I called the contact 4x and left voicemails, but no response. Then, we found the lockbox and were able to access the house. The contact finally did call me back. Once inside, the home was cute. There were several crawlies inside, mostly spiders. That didn't bother us, though. We just relocated them. We played a game and went to bed. The overall stay was nice once we figured it all out.

Really enjoyed staying at this location and would do it again! Great for relaxing or for jumping off to any of a number of great places. Thanks so much, Dorothy!
