ASHEVILLE, NC
Downtown Asheville is 20 minutes from house. Downtown Asheville is an extremely popular tourist destination. Lots of great food, beverages and people-watching. Local flavor makes downtown seem like a great big open-aired mall with street musicians. Antique stores, specialty shops, import/export, ethnic, and variety of apparel shops. Festivals all year round from small to BIG, where the entire downtown area turns into a venue for fun. Fall is a very popular time for visitors. When the leaves begin to turn colors, the entire surrounding mountains become golden yellow, red, & orange. Great time to get in some hikes to see the wonderful views.
BILTMORE ESTATE
Premier destination for most visitors. The Biltmore Estate and Winery, where the largest mansion in North America resides--tours daily. Many folks spend days on the Estate exploring the many things to do there. Restaurants, horses, trails, 4-wheel drive track, gardens, hotel and winery with tastings and tours. The estate starts its Christmas wonderland as of Nov. 1st. Every room is decorated for the period of the time. The Christmas at the Biltmore is a 'must see' event.
BREVARD AND HENDERSONVILLE
Both these communities are popular destinations. Hendersonville is known for its apple orchards, picking and festival. Brevard is located right next to the Pisgah National Forest and the lush Davidson River Valler where Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Falls are located. Brevard is also know for their local performances. Both of these towns have downtown areas with many shops and restaurants.

I feel it was over priced. Interstate 26 is literally in the backyard. You could hear the traffic the whole time. Maybe if they put a TV in the extra bedrooms it would help drown out the noise. The carpets need some serious cleaning. We had six people and there were six towels. We were to here for a week. We had to buy toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent and garbage bags. The complimentary shampoo was a one ounce tube, enough for one use. Be prepared to bring or buy everything you need. Then you are instructed to make sure you take all the trash to the cans downstairs and remove all towels and linens and put them in the laundry room. I would have done that anyway but it just seemed odd to me. I got a message saying they were missing hand towels. I didn't take any hand towels, I can assure you. The place was left cleaner than it was when we arrived. It's definitely smaller than the pictures portrayed. The equivalent of a 3 bedroom apartment. Very little space in the living room. Small sofa that fits 3 people comfortable and the two chairs are patio furniture.
We like everything in the house ,we were away most of the days, but house was very good
The house was great and comfortable. Plenty of space for family of five with nice updated appliances and lots of closet/pantry space. In a perfect location, close to everything. Bonus too for kids who love airplanes, as you can see them take off from the back deck. The highway noise wasn’t so bad but the bed in master bedroom was loud enough to wake my sleeping baby.
Very positive
Day 1 arrived at the property. House seemed to have recent water damage as the ceiling had multiple wet spots that had gone unchecked. Day 2: oldest child tries to adjust window covering. Covering falls on her head. Youngest child wants to sit on chair on the porch. Chair was attached to a plant hook and not the hook that was hooked into the beam. Luckily neither child had any injuries. Owner responded…”sorry for your inconvenience. Safety concerns aren’t an inconvenience. Hot tub was dead. The beds squeaked so bad that we had trouble sleeping. The wallpaper in the bathroom was being held together by masking tape. I wish I could say something good, but I can’t
Enjoyed a great weekend with friends
This property was priced exactly right, and it's a treat to stay in such a nice place that immediately feels like home. We loved the privacy, the convenience, and the nice neighborhood. Sure there is an interstate beyond the backyard, and you can occasionally hear cars, but it's not a big deal at all. Bring a fan for the back bedroom to make some white noise if you are super sensitive but my kids didn't notice at all. The master and the front guest room are quiet. Loved everything about our stay there. It's a delightful home. Five stars all the way!!
Nice place to stay. Close to all the places we wanted to go. No complaints. My family enjoyed our stay. We also received quick responses whenever we had questions.
Cons- picture of property does not match real life. There’s no large trees behind house instead it is a visible freeway right behind house and airport nearby. Might not bother some but if you are not used to constant noise at night, sirens, planes bothersome for sleep. Missing railing on side of stairs going up to house safety issue. Problem with both toilets functioning well. House advertised for eight guests only six bath towels provided, only three rolls of toilet paper for seven ppl for seven nights not enough living area, dining room space for eight guests. Would be very hard to sleep eight adults. Microwave cracked old food in crack. Carpets appeared filthy. Be prepared to provide all of your own paper products. Pros- hot water functions very well. Great vicinity to Biltmore, pisgah, and DuPont.
We stayed the last week of October with friends from Chicago who drove down to meet my wife and I (we drove up from FL). We found the house to be spotlessly clean and well appointed with furnishings. There were more than adequate accessories and utensils in the kitchen, nice, fresh linens with extras in a linen closet. The dining area was perfect for enjoying meals, playing board games or enjoying some wine and appetizers. Two TVs (although we didn't watch them much). Bedrooms were spacious with lots of closet and dresser space. There is a nice deck out back but it was too cool in the evenings for us to take advantage of it or the screened in porch out front. The location was perfect for enjoying all that Asheville and the surrounding area has to offer. We were 20 minutes from the Biltmore and River Arts District, 25 minutes from downtown Asheville, about 40 minutes from Lake Lure, 15 minutes from the Hendersonville area and some great wineries, and less than an hour from the Cashiers area and some great waterfall hikes. There were grocery stores and restaurants in close proximity Beatriz was great in getting back to me to answer any questions I had before my stay. The check in was seamless. The only negative is that the house is located almost next to I-26 and there is traffic noise. I noticed some of the other homes on the street had privacy fences across the back of their property which may abate some of the noise, something the owner may want to consider for the future.
