Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Our 3 bedroom craftsman bungalow is located on a quiet residential street in Bay View, one of Milwaukee's most vibrant neighborhoods. It's an easy walk to several popular restaurants and bars, and a leisurely 15 minute walk to Lake Michigan (or drive to the lake in 5 min). With three bedrooms and one bathroom, the house comfortably sleeps up to 6 people (there are 4 beds total). Here is the layout: The first floor includes the dining room, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom with a full size (double) bed. Upstairs we have a spacious master bedroom with a king bed and a somewhat smaller bedroom with a bunk bed (twin over full). The kitchen includes a gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, dishes, and cookware. There is a clothes washer and dryer in the basement. We have an outdoor deck attached to the kitchen. Several popular restaurants and bars are within walking distance, such as Burnhart's, Honeypie, Huê, Hungry Sumo, and Sven's. It's an easy drive, a quick bus ride, or a leisurely walk to Collectivo Coffee, Outpost Natural Foods, Groppi's Market, and many other great local businesses. Beulah Brinton Park is located two blocks away with a playground, sports fields, and outdoor basketball courts. The whole family will enjoy relaxing at South Shore Park on Lake Michigan (about a 5 minute drive). It's also a quick drive or pleasant walk to Humboldt Park, and we're just around the corner from the Bay View Library. Well behaved pets allowed, limit 1 pet, $25 additional cleaning charge per stay. Any pet damage will be charged to the guest. NO SMOKING - NO PARTIES - NO LOUD MUSIC - NO DRUGS
It was great and minutes from everything
The house is located in Bay View and you can walk to shops, restaurants and the lakefront. It is a spacious house with 3 bedrooms, but only one bathroom. It has laundry facilities. We brought our dog and there isn't a lot of yard, so we took her to a field that was just a few blocks away. The nearby dog park is closed indefinitely. You are provided with coffee and tea, the kitchen is stocked with pans, dishes, etc. The only things that I mentioned to the property owner was updating some of the bathroom and some dressers for clothes. There was a mouse issue when we stayed, but hopefully just an issue in the winter. Parking is on the street, but you need a permit for any length of stay longer than 3 days.
The place was great. You will have to walk about 10mins to the bars/shops/cafes, and the lake is more around 15 minutes as a walk. Rideshare will get to you within 5 minutes. Super nice neighbors came by and talked and were great.
Cozy home for our little family for a weekend stay! Thank you!
There were definitely pluses and minuses of this property. On the upside, the neighborhood is cute, walkable, and convenient to downtown and the airport. The house is also well-stocked with everything you need. The overall cleanliness was not great. All of the pots/pans/etc. had to be re-washed before they could be used, as there was stuck on food and grime. The sheets on the bunk bed did not appear to have been washed, as they had lots of hair on them (my kids insisted upon changing the sheets the night we got in despite it being late). The tub did not drain unless you held down the toggle the whole time so you basically had to shower in standing water. The overall impression is that there hasn't been a lot of investment in the property to upkeep it or make it appealing. I have stayed in a lot of VRBOs and for the price, this one did not seem a good value. It served our purpose but I would not recommend it to a friend.
Clean, very efficient small bungalow. Upstairs allows quiet privacy. Small kitchen has sliding glass doors that allow a pleasant openness to a deck with a nice view of well-kept backyards.
