Stayed May 28, 2026This property was excellent. The house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Julia our host was great. She had stocked the pantry and refrigerator with breakfast food, drinks, fruit, snacks, etc. First time ever that all this was provided. She even had fresh baked cookies for us and had carrots for us to feed the beautiful horses. She was very accommodating. Best experience I have ever had and I've used VRBO a lot. I can truthfully say I have never had a bad experience with VRBO. I highly recommend this property and we hope to go back again soon as we have relatives and friends in the area.

Stayed May 7, 2026We recently stayed at the Colliver House at Claybank Farm, and if I could give it a rating higher than 10, I absolutely would. The location was perfect—a quiet, peaceful setting on a beautiful horse farm, well away from the city. Guests are even welcome to pet and feed the horses with carrots generously provided by the host, Julia.Choosing this home instead of a hotel made our trip even more special. It allowed our family and friends to spend real time together, rather than scattering to separate rooms and only meeting up later. Everyone we met on the farm was incredibly friendly and made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. The house itself was spotless and stocked with everything you could possibly need—and more. After this visit, we would definitely stay again and highly recommend this farm to anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming, and memorable place to stay.Kim & Larry and family

Stayed Apr 16, 2026Julia was awesome! She makes you feel welcome & part of the family! She brought us carrots to feed the horses, she answered all our questions and we had the best time interacting with the horses. We walked over to the restaurant two out of the three nights. The house was stocked with everything we needed and then some! We had a great stay. Thank you

Stayed Apr 9, 2026Julie was an amazing host! Home was clean and cozy, was stocked with essentials, there was lots of information provided for things to do in the area and the property was beautiful. Lots of history! My family enjoyed feeding the horses carrots and peppermints and watching them in the pastures while relaxing on the porch. Fresh baked cookies on the kitchen table upon arrival really made us feel at home. The restaurant on the corner had great good and was so convenient for dinners after being out and about all day. Julie made sure we had what we needed and was only a phone call away. We will be back for sure.

Stayed Dec 19, 2025This was our second Christmas stay at this property. Family from Indiana and Tennessee met here. This is an old farm house on a working horse farm. Can’t get more authentic than that. It reminded me of staying at my moms or grandmothers house. It feels like home. The house was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. Julia always goes overboard in providing the small things. We cooked several large meals and if we forgot something, Julia had it in the cabinet or fridge. Wonderful small restaurant within eyesight of the house. The Colliver House was a perfect place for our family Christmas gathering.

Stayed Oct 23, 2025Julia’s house was perfect for our group of 6 in town for a bachelor party. The house is very clean and comfortable, especially the bedrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and the fridge was even stocked with some food and drinks when we arrived. The property is large with multiple outdoor seating areas, and it was great to be able to interact with the horses! Julia was extremely welcoming and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay at her house again if we go back to Lexington.

Stayed Jun 26, 2025The place is near the Kentucky Horse Park and Kroger is down the road. We wanted an atmosphere that felt more like home than a hotel. We were able to do things during the day and still come home for dinner. This location fit nicely for a weekend getaway. My daughter loved the horses too. Would stay again.

Stayed Jun 18, 2025We had a lovely stay on the farm with Julia. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. She even went out of her way to plan some horse-related adventures for us and was very patient with our questions about the world of horse racing and breeding. Bonus was meeting the foals and other horses on the property and seeing the fireflies from the porch in the evening. We could not have asked for a better stay!

Stayed May 8, 2025This place is heavenly! Absolutely beautiful scenery, gorgeous property and home. The best we have ever stayed at! Location is great, not to far from the city but far enough away from the hussle and bustle. Amazing views all around, no matter which way you look. The host/owner is outstanding! So great from check in to check out! She considers every little detail to make this your home away from home. Just can't say enough! 10 out of 10! Would highly recommend! Thank you again, you and your place made our trip so memorable! Can't wait to come back.

The farm is such a beautiful place. We enjoyed visiting the horses. The home is well stocked and the welcoming cookies were an extra special treat. Julia is an excellent host and offered ideas for rainy day excursions. Our whole family rank this as our favorite vacation rental. We all got much needed rest and relaxation. Stayed Mar 26, 2025My group of six woman stayed at this cute venue. We loved it. Plenty of room for all of us. The property owner was very responsive, informative, friendly and available. We are already talking about booking again for next year. We did need some help with how to regulate the heat and air features. Horses all around us was amazing!! And the restaurant on the corner was yummy. Best hush puppies I've ever had!

Stayed Mar 19, 2025Very nice old farm house on a working horse farm. A mare an it’s foal (1 week old) spent most of their day in the field next to the house and loved to visit with us when we went up to the fence. Host was wonderful and the house had all the amenities one would ever need.

Stayed Dec 20, 2024Ky is the halfway meeting point for our family living in Tn and In. We love the Ky countryside and enjoy the surrounding horse country. What better Christmas meeting place for our family than a 200 year old farm house on a working horse ranch. Our host (Julia) was very accommodating and the listing and pictures were very accurate. This property is somewhere between a VRBO and a B&B. The house was stocked well beyond a normal VRBO and Julia met us with a desert, as well as bacon and eggs to use for breakfast. We cooked a big Christmas dinner and had everything we needed. This is an old house so expect an old house. If you expect a modern home with ten foot cathedral ceilings and high end furnishings, this isn’t it. It’s all about the charm. The house is clean, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. We ventured around the stable area and met some of the horses. There is a wonderful small restaurant close by that you can see from the house. The chef is excellent and the food was great. We ate two meals there and the convenience was a bonus. If you’re looking for a vintage farm house experience on a working horse farm with everything you need, then I highly recommend.
