Coastal View is perched slightly above the Village of La Jolla with sweeping views over the Pacific Ocean and down to La Jolla Shores.



Situated toward the end of a cul-de-sac, the house is quiet, private and close to all your needs for a wonderful vacation.



Walk into the Village of La Jolla, visit the sea lions and seals and experience the many wonderful restaurants, galleries and boutiques found scattered along Prospect St and Girard Ave.



The Space:

Coastal View has 2 bedrooms.



The primary bedroom has a king size bed, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower and absolutely gorgeous views overlooking the ocean.



There is a smart TV in the primary bedroom.



The primary bedroom is loft style and can also has a view down into the living room, it is located up a few stairs to the second floor.

The second bedroom features a queen size bed.



There is a shower/tub combo bathroom close to the guest bedroom.



The guest bedroom has an attached, fully covered, quaint veranda that looks over the garden and is a peaceful, zen area for your relaxation.



The living room, dining area has a large screen TV, cable, Wifi and lots of seating.



Off the living room is a very spacious patio overlooking the ocean, with bbq, seating and those wonderful views.



The ocean breeze sweeps into the living/ dining room and keeps the home very cool.



The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs and includes dishwasher, fridge, oven and microwave.



Street parking is easy to come by in this quiet end of the street.



While you're here you may as well check-out the the waves at Blacks, the Shores and the Slides,

It is a Five minute walk to Coast Walk and another 5 minutes to Goldfish point for swimming and snorkling at the La Jolla Caves, and Coastal View is conveniently located at top of the village at Historic Harper's corner which is a Fifteen minute walk to either the the La Jolla Cove or the Marine Room.

A little bit about the area:



La Jolla is another San Diego neighborhood exuding a Mediterranean village atmosphere. La Jolla Shores' picturesque sandy beach runs north from La Jolla Cove and offers great snorkeling and scuba diving. Known for its galleries, shops, restaurants and the highly scenic coastline, La Jolla is also home to branch of the Museum of Contemporary Art of San Diego. To the north of La Jolla is Torrey Pines, home to the Torrey Pines Golf Course, one of the nation's finest public golf courses and the site of the Farmers Insurance Open in late January or early February. Located around the course is the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, which offers paths and rock outcroppings to hike on as you make your way to pristine and often empty beaches.

    Coastal View lives up to its name with a dramatic view up to Torrey Pines, Del Mar and beyond. The house is a short walk to all the amenities of La Jolla. If the wind is right you can hear the playful sea lions barking down at the cove

    The property location was great and the house itself was fine. Not having any air conditioning was an inconvenient but there was a stand alone unit that was available for use in the bedroom so it was okay. The dryer vent had been taped together and that was split and venting into the house. I bought some duct tape and patched it up myself rather than calling anyone. The communication with the property manager was bad, I had questions early on and no one ever got back to me. When we first arrived the dank, musty smell in the house was terrible but after we aired it out and spent $100 or so on candles and lysol spray/ plug ins it was fine. Not much in the way of dishes and cook ware either. The property worked for us mostly because we made it work but, there really needs to be a little effort put into making it comfortable for guests. It could and probably should be really nice for the price we spent to rent it. We had a good time and it all worked out so I'm not going to complain too much. With a little effort it could provide a much better experinece however.

    Fantastic location with terrific views of the Pacific. Close to town and the check in and check out process was smooth. But here are some things you need to know. As of the date of this review, there is ongoing construction that we were not warned about and its very loud and disruptive. There is no shade or window covering in the back bedrooom so the construction workers can look right in and finally the TVs and associated devices are very antiquated and not very useful so if that is impt you should bring a laptop to watch TV. Overall a great stay but not all it can be.

    We stayed at this property for nearly six weeks with our little dog. The location and the view were by far the best features. We walked to the Cove every day. There really was no need to drive. Could walk everywhere. We had a few minor issues with Wifi and refrigerator and the property management was super responsive and fixed right away. The house was super clean. Excellent housekeeping. We booked extra housekeeping and price very reasonable. Would love to come back!

    Average property ... at best. Lots of pros and cons with this home. Pros - The location and neighborhood is great. Beautiful. Safe. Friendly neighbors. Walking distance to the downtown with coffee shops, bars, restaurants. Patio has a great view on the ocean. Check in was easy. Didn't think the murphy bed was that uncomfortable. La Jolla is awesome. Cons - No AC. The house ranged between 86 - 97 degrees at all times. They had fans, but they blew around hot air. I didn't feel safe leaving my pet crated in the house. I was worried he was going to overheat. We all were miserable the entire time we were there. Understand San Diego had heat wave, but the house was so old it clearly didn't have proper installation to help. The house could use a lot of TLC. Some holes in the wall were covered up by bandaids. Keurig didn't work. Upstairs had railing that a toddler, kid, or pet could fall through with a huge drop to the living room. To get to La Jolla Shores Beach, is about a 30 minute walk. The house has so much potential! It hasn't been updated since the 70s... and we all kept thinking of how we would remodel it. Not the worst stay.. not the best. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless it was our only choice.

    Nice location but not a good property. Pictures don’t match what is at property - such as no lounges on the deck. Property needs a deep cleaning. The “Murphy bed” is cruel and unusual punishment, cannot sleep either one or two persons comfortably. Owners should just buy a regular queen bed! Weirdest of all are the door openings - a washer/dryer was put in the kitchen - but it blocks part of the doorway into the kitchen and the refrigerator on the other side of doorway can’t be opened fully. A person of size will literally not be able to access the small kitchen. Likewise, the doorway to the water closet in the master bedroom is only 18 inches or so and a person of size will not be able to access the toilet. If you like going through doorways sideways, this place is for you. Not sure how this ever was approved by a building department. Most disappointing vacation rental I’ve been to, which is a shame given it’s nice location.
