Coastal Retreat: 3 Bedroom Home with Community Pool Steps from the Beach

The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach and close to lots of restaurants, many of which are accessible by golf cart. The house itself is spacious and well-kept, and the pool was a nice bonus. We did experience a few minor hiccups, but the realty office was responsive and resolved everything quickly. The only downside was the cleanliness—while the house looked tidy at first glance, the floors were dirty and it didn’t seem like it had been deep cleaned between guests. Still, overall we really enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great week-long stay at this unit. The house was exactly as described and pictured in photos. Clean, and well decorated, kitchen was appropriately stocked with essentials, the full size washer and dryer was perfect for keeping up with our laundry. The couches and beds were very comfortable. And everyone, kids and adults loved the game table! The pool was wonderful, it was a great size and well maintained. There was a man out cleaning it every morning. Plenty of parking under the house and space for all the beach gear. The only thing that would have made it better for us with having 2 families and 4 boys, would be if the 3rd bedroom had 2 sets of bunks, rather than the twin over double bunk and twin sofa bed...the boys didn't want to share beds so 1 slept on the couch the whole week, but he didn't mind because it was very comfortable. We were worried about the location being directly across from 2 hotels, but accessing the beach was easy and there was plenty of room for a great spot. There was one day the AC struggled to keep up but it was almost 110 that day, the rest of the time the AC was perfect. Overall, great location, well updated and decorated and comfortable home. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit was very nice. However huge ant problem. They did come out and spray the outside. We had to spray inside almost daily. Pool area isn't as nice as the pictures. Loungers and chairs old. Ribbing missing. Molded and green moss. Sat on one of the chairs and the bottom of our feet had green on them from the lounger. Dirty towel layed on a chair for days until I called. Socks, trash around pool. However pool itself was clean. We were shocked because we've stayed in garden city units before. Also cars park on the grass in front of the units. When pulling out if a van is parked which every day a big cargo van was parked there you couldn't see on coming traffic. Almost got hit 3 times. Called garden city. They said they would call horry county police. Nothing happened. These parked cars were not people staying at any of the units. Not sure if I would stay again. Especially for the money we paid for this unit

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was easy to make due to the awesome help of Bob. He was fantastic answering questions I had. The home is beautiful. The floors were dirty with sand when we arrived. A quick sweep and swifter worked fine. The beds and pillows are horrendous. This is the only reason I will not go back to this property. Pillows were like rocks, the mattress was like concrete. It was more comfortable sleeping on the couch and piling in a chair. All beds felt like a torture device.
