Stayed Sep 13, 2025Overall the house was cleaned well, but there were some areas that had obviously not been cleaned on a regular basis - tops of headboards in bedrooms, shelving, bookcases, etc. The kitchen is very well stocked, with enough empty cupboard space for our own pantry supplies. LOVED the ice machine in the basement (but the ice from the kitchen fridge looked discolored - maybe the water filter needed changing). Beds were very comfortable. Loved the idea of using the theatre room - except we couldn't get the remote to work, unfortunately. Both the pool and hot tub had been serviced, but there was sand in both on our arrival. They did get a thorough clean after the storm, midweek though.Weirdly, we couldn't find any handles to any of the saucepans - very strange. Beach homes do require a lot of maintenance - and Lunasea is no exception. One bathroom has a loose toilet and loose floor tiles. No hooks in any bathrooms to hang clothes or towels. We had water leak in the house from the rain hitting the sliding glass door - so bad we had use a lot of towels to soak up the water. Our biggest negative for this property is HOW LOUD THE POOL PUMP is. It's running 24/7 and it's so loud that bedrooms on that side of the property could not have their exterior doors open (to hear the ocean at night) due to the loudness of the pool pump. It needs to be replaced.

Stayed Mar 22, 2025We recently stayed at this property & were very impressed with the home itself. The house was beautiful, the rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the view was absolutely stunning. Booking was simple, and the rental company was easy to work with in that regard. Our only disappointment was with the heated pool, which we paid for in advance. Upon arrival, the pool was warm and appeared ready for use. However, the following day, a representative from the pool company stopped by, turned off the heater, and placed a hose in the pool—asking us to remove it after an hour. We followed those instructions and reached out that evening to have the heat turned back on, but no one came.We contacted the rental company again the next day and were told someone would stop by, but again, no one did. On the third day, after another call and expressing our frustration, someone finally came out. Unfortunately, the experience with the pool technician was extremely unpleasant. She informed us the heater wouldn’t turn on due to a low water level—despite the fact that we had followed her instructions the previous day. When we reminded her that she had asked us to remove the hose, she responded condescendingly, saying, “Well then I guess this is all my fault.” We requested a refund for the pool heat, as it was only on for two of the five days of our stay. The rental company declined but offered a small refund on the taxes instead, which did not come close to covering the cost we paid for the pool

Stayed Mar 29, 2025Property was okay, definitely time for an update though in some areas. Biggest complaint was the cleaning crew, we had to do a deep clean upon arrival. Found nail clippings on the floor, under the furniture had not been swept or mopped and dirty floors in some of the bathrooms. A few rooms had only one set of towels, so we had to trek back to the highway to purchase some. Other little things that were called into the office were quickly taken care of. All the office staff were professional and friendly throughout the entire process!

Stayed Sep 7, 2024When we booked this house it was a brand new listing without any reviews so I feel like I need to give an honest review. Check in at 5 in our opinion is way too late. We asked for an early check in and they said no. In the end I got a text saying our house was ready at 12:23pm. Now I know why. Upon arrival, they give you a starter pack. Which means 2 rolls of toilet paper for 11 bathrooms. Several people found sticks and sand in their shower from previous stay. The vacuum cleaner we disgusting. It makes sense why the house was so dirty. We had 10 adults and 4 kids (4-1yr old). We brought a lot of food down so we could pretty much stay in the house for most meals. The propane tank was empty. I would check right away if you plan on cooking. The office was closed for the weekend and then they came on Tuesday to replace. The views from the 3rd floor was amazing. Watching the sunrise was our favorite part. The pool when we got there was 71 so we decided to heat it for the week. $500 in my opinion is a rip off but collectively we decided to pay it. They wouldn’t let us turn it on so someone came the next day. Took another 24 hours to warm up. Our biggest con was the walk to the beach. 2 other reviews said “short walk”. In reality , yes it was short distance but it was 22 steps up the dune with a ramp and then 22 steps back down to the beach. Forget bringing a stroller or wagon to the beach. Overall we had an amazing trip to Corolla but would never stay at this house again.

Stayed Aug 3, 2024We had a wonderful large family trip at Lunasea! The house is beautiful and the location is great…1.5 miles to a grocery store either direction (Food Lion to the north and Harris Teeter to the south). The kitchen was extremely well-stocked and the theatre room was set up so nicely for a large group. Access to the beach is very convenient. The only cons we saw were 1.) the linens provided left a lot to be desired, 2 star hotel quality at best, and 2.) the house could definitely have been cleaned more thoroughly, especially the floors. Besides these things we really loved the property!

Stayed May 12, 2024We loved the location of the house and the proximity to the beach. Lots of large bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The house was beautiful and the beach amazing. Only two downsides, we were not able to heat the pool, and the linens from the linen company were hospital quality at best.
