Coastal Breeze: 3 BR, 2 BA House in Gilchrist, Sleeps 9

House was clean, location was great. All was good except the outdoor BBQ grill. We had stayed in May 2025 at this house and the grill was barely usable then. Figured it would be replaced by now. Now it was just pitiful. We couldn't use. Not a deal breaker, but if you plan on cooking outside, make another plan. All of our boxes were checked for this house except for that one and we usually grill out every night.

The place was great and we had a fantastic time. The only issue we had was we were going to grill steaks for my Husbands birthday and the BBQ grill at the property is in really bad shape, rusted out and needs to be replaced. We had to go to the Big Store and purchase a grill. And we had to physically go to the property management office to check in which we have never have had to do before at other places we have stayed and usually just get a text or email with our key code. Other than that it was a perfect trip for us.

This is the first time I’ve ever not given a 5 star review.The property is beautiful and right on the beach. Check in was super annoying because we had to go “pick up the key” at the Swedes office (which is 10 full minutes from the property) and they literally wrote the code on a piece of paper that they could have easily texted us. 20 minute waste of time.Checkout was easy. Just a phone call. What a concept!There are zero towels, linens, toilet paper, trash bags, soap, dishwasher tablets etc. You have to bring all of that. They provide the home, beds and appliances. Nothing extra. At all. Lots of dust everywhere and I had to wash the bedspreads because they all smelled musty. Multiple missing light bulbs in kitchen.The toilet paper holder broke off. The bath mats were all gross and old.Again, being on the beach is amazing but if I knew all these issues, I would’ve gladly stayed somewhere else that was more accommodating, clean and convenient. Won’t be back, will not recommend.

Great beach front view in a spot on the beach far away enough from the busy portion of the beach yet close enough to a grocery store, gas station, and other need to go places. You could see stars at night since it's far enough from all the light pollution. You do need to provide linens, paper towels, etc to avoid a linen fee but no big deal. I just put my own sheets and stuff in a stuff sack and tossed it in my trunk. The house was clean and the service was very attentive. The price was pretty good for beach front property. I'll definitely add this place to my fav list.

The bedrooms have no chest of drawers that makes long stays inconvenient. The tv sets would not work in the bedrooms with a firestick. The living area tv would not work without a firestick. The hose connector on the deck and by the driveway are rusted out and don’t work. The grill is rusted out and very dirty. The kitchen was sparsely equipped. I think with adding furniture in the bedrooms and general maintenance this would be a nice place. Regardless of this, we enjoyed the beach.

It’s really nice and relaxing to stay there

Overall stay was decent but property needs repair. Blinds in master bedroom didn’t work, refrigerator handle broken, no TV service. When in the shower the floor creaks horribly, it sounds like you might fall through. Mattresses and pillows were super cheap and not comfortable. Lots of trash in the neighborhood And on the beach. No issues but would not rent from this owner again.

Hurricane Beryl arrived and the whole peninsula was without power and highways shut down. Yes, we did not purchase the insurance and that’s our fault. I tried to see if Swedes would be willing to work with us since we are retired, have flexible schedules, and rebook for a later date during the low season since we already paid for it in full. The answer we got was a hard NO! We will not be using this real estate company ever again a would not recommend it to anyone. Buyer beware.
