This 3BD 2BA home near downtown Clovis is just off Shaw Ave near Clovis Ave in a working class neighborhood. The things we liked were the garage to park our car in and Keurig coffee making and comfortable beds. This house appeared clean. The issues we had with the house were mostly related to convenience and common courtesy. First, the house was freezing when we arrived as the Heat was off, the house was 57 degrees when we arrived. Light switches were in strange places and often didn’t turn on lights like the front porch light would not come on. The garage door didn’t come with a remote so had to get out of the car each time to use code pad mounted outside garage to open the door. The beds had side tables with no lamps on them and no way to charge phones and the only outlets were behind the headboard or at the foot of the bed. The one bedroom with an en-suite bathroom was nice but the bathroom is tiny and the shower is extremely small so not gonna work well unless you’re a small person. We realize some of these things are not easy to change but that’s all the more reason to make the place as convenient as possible. We stayed here for location to downtown Clovis but will look for other options next time.
I repeatedly received communication from the host that they wanted to ensure we had an exceptional stay….”5 star!!!” However, their response to a significant cleaning issue did not bear that out as a true priority. Upon arrival we found a literally POOP COVERED toilet brush (including on the handle!) in the caddy next to the hall toilet. I don’t even want to know what must have been happening in that toilet and on the floor for that to have occurred, but it was appalling that it was left for us to find and it gave us no confidence that the house had been properly cleaned. I sent a picture of it, in the bathroom, to the host to alert them and it was not addressed or acknowledged by them. The kitchen/dining table were dirty and the bottle of cleaning spray under the sink was completely empty. They didn't offer to have the cleaners come out again, but even if they did, to me that’s not an actual remedy. It’s not the guest's responsibility to deal with the cleaners during a stay. The home should be clean to start with. One of the house rules is no shoes, but your socks will be black by the end of your stay-we were only there for two full days. Finally, issues mentioned by past reviewers, like outlets not working, were still not working when we were there. To me, there’s no excuse for that. I would recommend guests avoid the collection of investment homes owned by this host and stay at a home owned and managed by an actual person who might truly care.
Only criticism is a few outlets don’t work otherwise I would recommend house and host
Great location! Better than the pics! Highly recommend this place to anyone. We will be staying here again!
Property was as described. It is located in a great area and has everything you need close by from department stores to your local mom and pop restaurant. Check in process was simple and neighborgood was quiet. The only improvement would be the porch light which was not functional and internet connection on the front tv kept dropping. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.
Great place would stay again
Great location. Great place. Quiet, safe and just what we needed for our family visit.
