All cleaning policies meet or exceed CDC standards and recommendations. Our team wears new masks, gloves and shoes covers each time they enter home to prepare it for a new stay. We clean and disinfect all hard surfaces and high-touch items such as appliance handles, light switches, door knobs, remote controls, etc. We also clean and disinfect all dishes/glassware, silverware, bedding, towels and other linens as well as tubs and toilets. Meredith Lodging has added the extra measure of a pre-check-in inspection to make sure all of our cleaning and disinfecting procedures are complete and to our standard before you arrive.
Once it passes inspection, your home sits empty until you arrive for your contact-free check-in. Additionally, if your home features a private hot tub, rest assured it is disinfected, treated and cleaned thoroughly after each departure so that you and your guests can enjoy it with peace of mind during your stay.
80/90’s nostalgia! The view & deck from this place was epic but the place itself was pretty old school/mediocre itself. Definitely felt like a blast from the past with all the board games, no WiFi, and the tv with the vhs players and vhs movies! It was stocked with the essentials but the furniture was extremely outdated/old and felt like visiting your grandma’s house when you were young. The floors and doors were very squeaky/loud. Very walkable to the beach and Siletz Bay Area which was great for crabbing! Also they should replace the kitchen pots& pans, they were all scratched. The place could just use some love/simple updating!
The property was very nice and the updates around are noticeable. I would stress the need to update/improve some of the basics. The corkscrew was good if you were a body builder not over 60! The can opener was rusty and would not open a can completely. And some of the pans were long past the toss out stage. Not even good enough for Goodwill.
We enjoyed our stay at the quaint and cozy cottage overlooking the sea. It's only a short walk to the expansive beach as well as a short drive to many eateries. The deck was perfect for enjoying the quiet morning surf and for leisurely viewing the pink sunsets. Even though we didn't do much cooking we could have with the well-stocked kitchen. We were sad to leave as we quickly fely like it was our Sea Forever home.
Other than the view this place was very disappointing. It’s not charming, it’s tacky. The bedrooms are unwelcoming and depressing. The larger one has very dark old ugly paneling. The cheap aluminum blinds don’t work well throughout the house. They don’t function properly and barely even keep the sun out. A second bedroom has two very small beds, no dresser or shelving, but has a gigantic decades old non functional TV. It plays VCRs and there was a whole shelf of decades old vcr movies. Big waste of space. The couch was dirty, the burner drip pans on the stove were filthy. The side kitchen was bolted shut and non functional. The washer/dryer was in a dirty, icky garage. The bedding was very old and worn looking. The kitchen is tiny with very little counter space.
Nice, if a little dated, home with bare essential amenities. No Internet, which in this day and age is like not having basic utilities especially if you are traveling with young people who tend to get a bit restless without their social media and online entertainment. The house is on a hillside overlooking the beach, but there is no direct path from the house to the beach. You have to hike down the street, around a corner and back down the street immediately below the house in to order to find a steep set of stairs that take you to the beach. Not quite easy beach access. Otherwise, the house was fine.
They view was great, sat on the deck and watched the sunset and enjoyed the breeze and fresh air! The house had great old original wood floors that added to the charm. Loved the old radio and that there was no wifi so we could unplug. Great walk to the beach, remember being higher up with a wonderful view comes stairs to get to the beach! Wonderful walk on the beach, lots of driftwood which made for great photos! Rocks nearby showed a bit of sealife and got great pics of starfish! House is not fancy but that want our goal, we wanted towo bedrooms, close to the beach with kitchen. Thanks for the coffee and tea!
