Welcome to Three Rivers - gateway to Sequoia National Park! This is the perfect time to escape from the city for a few days and spend some quiet time visiting the magnificent giant trees.

The Blue Oak Bungalow is nestled in the peaceful Alta Acres neighborhood of Three Rivers, only 3 miles from Sequoia National Park. The property is made up of 2 parts; the main house and a cozy detached studio just a couple of steps away. Built in 1956, this charming home masterfully combines the classic architecture from that era with a colorful modern flare that creates the perfect balance of old & new. The owner has lovingly restored, refurnished and redecorated the home with your comfort and enjoyment as a priority. Add to that the fact that he chose a manager whose houses have been voted Best Vacation Home in Kaweah Country for five years in a row, and you have the makings for a perfect experience.

The main house opens into a brilliant living room featuring floor to ceiling windows showcasing the Sierra Nevada mountains. You'll find lots of comfy seating, a woodstove, large screen smart TV and amazing local artwork adorning the walls. The open floor plan includes a dining table that will seat six and a full kitchen complete with a brand new gas oven & stovetop, new refrigerator/freezer, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, blender, cookware, dinnerware...you name it. The bedroom contains a brand new Cal King bed, large mirrored closet and a view of the garden and mountain peaks of Sequoia National Park. The bathroom features a wonderful claw foot bathtub with shower curtain enclosure, mirrored vanity, plenty of room, and towel sets for everyone. The temperature of the house can easily be controlled by a Nest thermostat. No matter how hot or cold it is outside, you will be very comfortable inside.

The adjacent studio (just a couple of steps away) is perfect for those in your party that prefer a bit more privacy. Inside you will find a bedroom with a new Cal King bed, outstanding views of the great outdoors, coffee service, mini fridge, big closet, cabinets for your storage and a full bathroom with tub/shower. We provide a double bed size Memory Foam fold-out mattress with linens if you need additional sleeping space in the studio. The studio's climate is controlled by a ductless mini-split offering both heating & cooling in an efficient and quiet manner.

We happily provide unlimited hi-speed internet (Spectrum approx 75Mbps download speed) for our guests who like to stay connected or are on a working vacation. The smart television is not connected to cable or satellite, but does offer Netflix and guests are welcome to access their own accounts as well (don't forget to bring your password).

The front garden is a cornucopia of colorful plants and fun seating areas. A propane BBQ grill is provided.

The town of Three Rivers, population under 3,000, has its own elementary school, several churches, hotels, gas stations, grocery stores, cool restaurants, a brewery, hardware store, a bank, and a handful of unique stores offering local arts & crafts. The town's boundary runs right up to the park entrance so you can't get any closer to Sequoia than Three Rivers if you are looking for convenient lodging while exploring the giant sequoias.

Come, be our guest at the Blue Oak Bungalow where you will feel the warmth of our hospitality, and the memories you take home will be enhanced by your stay in our little neck of the woods.

If you are traveling with four-legged family members, we do welcome them but ask that you follow the guidelines explained in the Pet Addendum portion of our Rental Agreement.

**Please trust that we will go above and beyond to exceed your expectations. Thank you for including the Blue Oak Bungalow in your accommodation options.**

We had a fantastic stay at this bungalow! Great communication, clear expectations, and super close to the National Parks. There was plenty of room for our family of four plus our dog. We loved going outside and seeing all the wildlife (birds, turkeys, and deer). Highly recommend for a small family looking for a place to stay if you plan on going to Sequoia and Kings Canyon

We really loved this retreat. The tidiness, the warmth, and the efficiency of how the property is set up was perfect for us and the pups. Quiet and friendly town with the best subs. greek food, of course Sequoias and Kings National park just around the corner. We plan on heading up again and again. Thank you Host Robin for being so nice and accomadating.

Well-appointed home, and it's so easy to stay here. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Used a cooler for a full day in the park -- nice perk for those traveling from afar. The bedrooms and bathrooms were extremely comfortable and also well stocked with linens. The outstanding area, though, is the yard. That's where we hung out most of the time. Beautiful light in the early morning and late afternoon. You feel very secluded, and animals scamper through the yard.

Truly idyllic VRBO! The property manager provided detailed checkin directions that made it easy. When we walked in there was a freshly homemade loaf of bread! The space is filled with beautiful local art and nature themed books. The floor to ceiling windows allowed you to view the beautiful surroundings even when inside. Outside there are plenty of seating areas to relax and spot wildlife. The location couldn’t be more convenient — three miles from the park entrance and a mile outside of the main town center. Kitchen was equipped with everything needed. We used to make breakfast each morning before the days activities. Our trip was two couples… one stayed in the main house and the other in the studio. It was comfortable for us both. Can’t say enough good things.

Great place! The separate studio space for the kids ( 3 teenage boys ) was very convenient and overall the house was a great layout for us, especially the large living space open to the table and kitchen. It is also nicely decorated and the bathroom in the main house is huge!

We had a fantastic stay at this bungalow! My two teenagers got the studio and my husband and I stayed in the king bedroom. We had a lovely, relaxing time and even had a flock of 4 turkeys come hang out in the yard for a few minutes. Robin was a very responsive host and was so kind and easy to work with. Highlights: A/C: It was hot the days we visited but the A/C was fantastic and had no trouble cooling the place down in the 103* heat. Location!: Not only is it just a few minutes to Sequoia NP, it’s just a few minutes to lots of great food trucks, a brewery, and some restaurants. So convenient. We stopped at a grocery store and bought a few essentials for breakfast, coffee/beer, and snacks/dessert so we were well stocked! Beds: Beds were soooo comfortable. We all 4 slept great every night—and I’m picky about my bed due to back issues. Hangout space: Couch was huge, comfortable and perfect for movie night with the family. Host: The host, Robin, made us a loaf of homemade bread with instructions on how to reheat it in the oven. It was delicious!! My family devoured it. Negatives: There is no ice maker. There are ice trays though, and a container in the freezer. When we arrived we made sure to empty the trays and refill them so we would have plenty of ice in the morning for our hikes and to cool down afterwards. It worked fine! This place was fantastic and perfect for our family!! We were happy to have found a great home away from home for our vacation!

My husband and I, and our dog, loved our stay in Three Rivers. The house was terrific and the patio was a great place to hang out, with views of the mountains, birds singing, and flowers blooming. Easy communication with Robin. So many places to explore and hike that were dog friendly. Even one of the restaurants let us bring our pooch inside. Would go back in a second!

After the fires in Los Angeles we wanted a relaxing weekend alone in the mountains with fresh air. We got exactly that. The drive up was beautiful, check in couldn’t have been more clear, the property is beautiful, and kitchen is fully stocked. My husband and I relaxed in the backyard with our babies and watched the sunset, grilled dinner each night and enjoyed the string patio lights that gave it so much charm. The wild turkeys and quail are fun to watch (although our dog thought otherwise lol). The bed was comfortable and they even provided a pack n play saving us some space when packing. Next time we go back to Sequoia we will stay here again, I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

Where to begin?? There is so much to say about this absolutely wonderful place. For starters, the house is immaculately decorated and very cozy. Ample space and you feel right at home. Robin is a phenomenal host. The town of Three Rivers has a lot to offer despite its small size. Access to the national park is literally minutes away and you can reach some of the best sites within an hour. My family and I will be back!

this property is even better in person than the photos. We had a fabulous time in the yard watching the birds and deer. There's lots of nice seating areas and lighting for the evening. The inside is updated and has everything you need- down to puzzles and games. AC handled 95+ degree days easily. Close to everything in town and the park but very quiet and restful.

Very easy check-in, hostess was wonderful, great decor, super comfortable beds. Perfect for two long-term friends to vacation together, but have their own separate places. We loved Blue Oak Cottage. The decor was lovely and the set up was perfect for adults who wanted to be together yet wanted privacy as well. There is a lovely clawfoot tub that is kind of a big step to get into so if there are any disabilities that could be a challenge but there was a bathtub mat for slippage. Loved seeing the family of deer walk by.
