This family-friendly mid-century chalet, nestled in protected forestland, offers a spacious 2500 sq ft layout with 4 bedrooms. It boasts two living areas and a game room. The lodge underwent a full renovation in 2021, and its location offers easy access to world-class hiking, Hickory Run State Park, and Jim Thorpe. Relax in the hammock under our namesake Chestnut Tree, soak in the hot tub, and enjoy s'mores around the firepit gazing out at 17,000 acres of wild forest.
The Space:
A MODERN CABIN NEAR JIM THORPE
The Chestnut Tree Lodge has been a favorite getaway for family reunions and group getaways for generations. You can feel the warmth and relaxed vibe of the home the minute you step in the door.
The living area is bright and open. Soaring vaulted ceilings and a wall of windows allow the natural sunshine to flood the space with light. Unwind on the two velvety, emerald green sofas. Watch Netflix, Hulu or Disney+, play games, or simply enjoy the gas fireplace.

The kitchen is open to the living area — perfect for girlfriend getaways! A long dining table can seat up to 8 people for meals. A peninsula bar has casual stool seating for three more. The fully-equipped kitchen holds all the supplies you’ll need to prepare snacks, meals, and cocktails for your crew.
FOUR COMFY BEDROOMS AND THREE FULL BATHROOMS
The master suite is private and peaceful. A king-size bed enjoys a quiet corner of the house and creates a cozy space to recharge after a long day. The floor to ceiling windows allow light to stream in, and blackout shades ensure that you won't get woken up before you're ready.
Three more bedrooms include:
• Two bedrooms each have a queen-size bed with plush memory-foam mattresses and vintage dressers so you can unpack for your stay
• A fourth bedroom on the first floor has three twin-sized antique beds with brand new mattresses
• Three pristine full bathrooms are all newly-renovated and offer showers and a tub (upstairs)
The house is fully stocked with soft, hotel-quality sheets, bath & hand towels, duvets and soft blankets, and ready for your getaway! No need to bring anything, unless you'd like an extra towel for the hot tub or the beach. We provide one deluxe bath towel per guest, plus plenty of hand towels and washcloths are stored in the bathrooms.
PERFECTION IN THE POCONOS
A brand new extra living space, play area and game room are located on the first floor and offer a nice separation from the upstairs kitchen/living areas. A huge comfy sofa faces the large, wifi-enabled flatscreen television, the whole group can comfortably watch movies together. Play a game of pool or try your hand at the new digital Star Wars pinball machine. Adults and kids of all ages will love this cool hang out space! Tucked under the stairs there's a cozy reading nook just for little guests to enjoy.

Guest Access:
You'll have access to the entire home and grassy 1-acre yard, plus there's a lot to explore right outside in the woods and protected nature preserve that surrounds the house on 3-sides.
Getting Around:
We highly recommend exploring the Poconos and the area around the Chestnut Tree Lodge by car so you can really take advantage of everything the area has to offer!
It is possible to reach Chestnut Tree Lodge by Greyhound bus to Lehighton, about 20 minutes away, and then taxi/uber to the house, if you plan on having a quiet reclusive weekend.
Other Things to Note:
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns prior to booking. We welcome friends and family, and the primary renter for each group must be 25 years or older.
Please note that this is NOT a party house and we ask that guests be respectful of our neighbor and observe quiet hours of 11pm - 8am while outdoors.
One well-behaved and housebroken pet is welcome with a $75 pet cleaning fee. Additional pets are subject to host approval and an additional $75 fee to help out our cleaning staff.
PRE-REGISTRATION: In accordance with local ordinances, guests will be asked to provide a list of guests and their vehicles about 10 days prior to the start of each reservation. In addition, our insurance company requires a standard waiver to be signed prior to your stay. Thanks for understanding!
Interaction with Guests:
Guests have the house all to themselves. However, we are available by phone or text anytime to answer questions or provide information. There is a coded door lock (plus a back up lock box) for 24-hour access.
Jessica and Scott were amazing from the start. She answered all my questions before I even booked.(1st VRBO user here) The house was perfect. So clean, beautiflully decorated and has everything you can possibly need and more. They even had a first aide kit. She thought of everything! We brought our family pet she even had her own welcome box. ?The hot tub the fire place I can go on and on about everything we loved. The beds super comfy. They had netflix and Disney +, games, pool table. I mean eveything you love to have at your own home was there for you and more. There was even a welcome bottle of wine. Cheers ! !
