The cabin did not disappoint! All the amenities a small family could need. We enjoyed everything from the giant dining table (for gaming and eating) to the ping- pong table and back to end our nights by a cozy fire. Thank you for offering such a great retreat location!

We loved our several night stay in the house. It had everything we needed. We loved spending cool mornings on the patio and the firepit in the evening. Had everything that we needed and we look forward to coming back. Only suggestion would be for a bit easier access to the river, as the path was a bit treacherous and slippery.

This is our third trip to this home and it just keeps getting better. The newly remodeled basement is a great addition to an already wonderful house. They have everything there that we neeeded. We love the river in front and always catch fish right there. We will be back!

The house feels like a family cabin- enough amenities without being fancy. Perfect for our family with kids (ages 9-10). The ping pong and foosball got lots of action. The beds were comfortable and the house super clean. The kitchen could have been better stocked missing some key items and the air conditioner made the living room freezing while the bedrooms roasted. The porch was perfect for coffee and evening reading. The river was perfect for swimming and playing. We'll be back often as our entire family felt refreshed.

Chesnutt Cabin was awesome! It had everything we needed for a quiet weekend in the woods. Bed configurations are not exactly as shown in the photos. Actual setup is: 1 queen in MBR, 2 twins in 2nd upstairs BR, 2 bunk beds (sleeps 4) in downstairs BR.

We took our two small grandsons with us for a short weekend trip. They are ages three and two, and they loved it. The cabin is beautiful and the screened in porch is great! It was great to let the boys get some fresh air without worrying about mosquitoes! The river is a short walk and not deep so they could swim easily. They are already asking to go back. The cabin was very clean and provided us with everything we needed.

We loved our stay here. I would highly recommend for families. There were two nice bedrooms for adults, and the bunk beds were comfortable enough that our teenagers did not complain. Some notes: 1) The family area has a very large porch attached to it. While there is plenty of seating for 8 at the table and on the couches, the completely screened porch makes this cabin much more spacious. Hardly a waking moment that some people were not sitting on the porch. 2) Our stay was end of July. The cabin has only one window unit, but it did a decent job keeping the family room cool. The bedrooms do get a little warm during the day when the temperature hits the mid 80's, but not sweaty hot. There were also plenty of fans. In the evenings, the bedrooms all cool down. 3) The kitchen was well equipped with cooking equipment. Nice knives, pots, pans, a handheld mixer, etc. There were not many spices in the cabinet, but that might be a COVID era thing. 4) There was cut wood underneath the porch for the firepit. Much appreciated. 5) Bring Water Shoes! Lots of fun swimming, but the rocky bottom of the river can be hard on bare feet. Once we equipped the kids with water socks, they stayed in the river all day, every day. The river is about 75 steps from the firepit, pretty close, a short 45 second walk. We were there in July, and the Cacapon river was very low due to the time of year. Most of the river is between ankle and knee deep, but there is a large, deep area just to the left of the path towards the other side that was over 6 foot deep. 6) Bug spray and sunblock are essential in summer months 7) There were a few fishing poles on the property. Worm pieces on small hooks underneath bobbers were catching dozens of bluegill and small rock bass every day. For ages15+ be sure to buy fishing licenses online. Bring your own hooks and bobbers. Tackle and worms are available at Doris's Deli or in Berkely Springs. 8) We enjoyed the guided river float, even though the river was low. Beautiful. 9) There is a large unfinished basement not in the pics that should provide extra room on rainy days. 10) There is a washer and dryer in the basement, not mentioned on the listing. Was helpful. 11) 40 gallon hot water heater was a champ for our group of 8. 12) Overall, the cabin is pretty quiet. One other cabin, 50 yards away, difficult to see thorough the trees. This place is off the beaten path and away from the road.
