Birmingham, Alabama
A charming home on the most beautiful tree lined street in Avondale - a short jaunt to the center of the action. Avondale is THE place to be rn - heart of music scene, breweries, bars, restaurants & Avondale Park! 5 min away from UAB & downtown.
Stylish but warm - quality furnishings, high quality linens, etc. Stocked kitchen, patio, carport with EV plug, child friendly. Atmosphere is calming, it’s disposition cheery and it gives off the happiest of vibes. Welcome to the Butterfly House.
Could use better family room curtains for night privacy and same in dining area.
The Butterfly House is a beautiful home that is well appointed with lots of little details that make you smile. We loved our stay and enjoyed the proximity to the Avondale entertainment district. Great too to have off street parking and a super large back yard for the pooch… Will be back for sure…
It was excellent. Very peaceful
Very thoughtful touches and ease on all. Train noise a bit loud, i would place noise machines in bedrooms to assist with that.
We loved our stay at Butterfly House—it’s a comfy sweet little house. We would definitely stay again. Loved the neighborhood..
Great location with plenty of room for family and dogs. Loved the back yard and quiet neighborhood. Walked to the park and for coffee one morning. Would definitely like to stay again.
We stopped overnight on our way through and it was such a great spot. Darling house, great amenities including coffee and creamer, kid and baby items, and a super comfy master bed. My only suggestion might be some black out curtains in the master since there aren’t blinds. Lovely stay!
The house was great and clean. The location was beautiful. My family and I had fun stay.
Lovely house in a quiet neighborhood near Avondale park, shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio in the morning and evening.
House was very cute. Loved the looks of the kitchen. The shower head or water pressure sucked. The plastic mattress cover made noises when I moved in the night. And it made for hot sleeping. Went to put linens in washer as per rules but there were sheets in there.
We were in town for a baseball tournament for my 15 year old son. This house was perfectly located between all of the fields. The house was very clean, very well stocked with all we would need and it fit the description on website. It was so great! Only negative was trying to back out of the driveway with all the cars parked on the street and that wasn’t even that bad. Would stay again!
We have stayed at Britt’s home before. Both homes are our go-to places when we travel to Birmingham. The home is in a cute, quiet neighborhood in the Avondale area. Lots lol of essentials. A comfortable home. Easy communication with Britt.
Small house in a quiet neighborhood, with a nice nice back yard. Renters very nice and attentive of messages and check in and out process Enjoyable stay Sean
The pet hair everywhere was my biggest negative impression. It was on the sheets, pillows, towels... I don't expect a home that allows pets to be pet-hair-free, but I do expect the things that are washable to be clean. Second biggest negative impression was that I didn't feel like a guest. Things were not folded nicely or organized or set up in a welcoming way. The sheets were wadded up in the linen area and the extra pillows were thrown carelessly into closet shelves. Some of the towels we pulled out to used were ratty, stained and torn. Bottles of soaps and other half-used items were just higgledy piggledy strewn in the bathroom shelving. There was a house number sign laying on the kitchen countertop in front of the coffee maker, presumably awaiting someone to glue its loose number back on. My third negative impression after climbing into the pet-hair covered bed, was hearing the railroad train every night until midnight. The tracks are several blocks away, but unfortunately, the horn is still very loud and one was blown about every 10 minutes. I would only recommend this place if you have pets staying with you, you don't mind feeling like you are staying at your buddy's house instead of paying to be a guest at a VRBO and you bring earplugs.
This cute little house was conveniently located within walking distance of Avondale Park and a few trendy bars off 5th Ave. Most of the stuff we wanted to do was a short drive away. The neighborhood has a nice old feel, with hilly meandering side streets and Tudor-style homes. We liked that there was a carport and driveway, but be aware that it's a tight fit for anything bigger than a sedan. The house itself was cozy and neat. We really appreciated such amenities as a washer and dryer, ice maker in the freezer, coffee maker, microwave, ceiling fans, closets in the bedroom, and enough kitchen equipment to prepare a real meal. Guests coming here should be aware that grounded power outlets are sparse. We were working remotely and ended up buying a power strip and extension cord. Also the water pressure in the shower is pretty low. The owner / property manager Brittany was very responsive and friendly! We were happy with our stay there, and would do it again!
We met our son for a weekend in Birmingham and enjoyed this property and the wonderful, walkable neighborhood very much. The fenced yard was a plus for our pups, the house was clean and felt safe. and the kitchen was adequate for us to eat in. There were a few small issues that were disappointing including the fact that the curtains did not quite close, the bathroom sink drained extremely slowly and the page of instructions directing us to empty the garbage, wash the dishes, strip the beds and start the laundry were a surprise, especially considering the generous cleaning fee.
stayed a second time first was in july. this time the property wasn’t as clean as it was last time, the bathroom looks like it skipped over cleaning & the sink in bathroom filled up while trying to run hot water and took a while to drain. only a half roll of toilet paper left for the weekend. other than that the property was fine.
So clean neat and cute. Very well stocked. Super convenient location!
The house was perfect. The location was great, short drive to downtown, and located close to bars and restaurants. Communication with Host was perfect. Would definitely stay there again if we end up in Birmingham!
Short midweek stay - property was great, just as advertised.
house was in quiet neighborhood. very clean, lovely backyard. will definitly be staying again next time.
My son, his wife and I were in Birmingham for the World Games 2022. Not only did we have a great time at the games, we feel as though we found the perfect spot for us at a great rate. This property is in a nice, quiet established neighborhood within easy walking distance to Avondale Park where the WG Archery competition was held and where you can find some nice local restaurants, bars, coffee, etc. The bungalow itself was very clean, well equipped, comfortable and nicely updated with plenty of space for the three of us. I believe they allow pets but you would never know it. Britt was very pleasant to work with and very accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again if I'm ever in Birmingham in the future.
Great location close to downtown and the popular Lakeview area. The home was a classic but freshly upgraded. I also liked the fenced in back yard if you have younger kids or a dog. I will be back when I am in town since it is competitively priced versus a hotel.
Nice quiet property, clean living space, and excellent communication with property manager.
