Chebeague holds a special place in my family's hearts. We gathered this year to be able to remember and celebrate my husband, their father, brother and grandfather. He passed in 2019 and is missed terribly. This home provided the best amenities and accommodations ever! Excellent lobster cooking facilities and we had the best lobster feast on Sunday, June 18, Father's Day. Thank you, we hope to come back! with much gratitude and appreciation!
If you are considering this home on Chebeague, look no further. We enjoyed beautiful views, and extremely comfortable and beautiful home and quiet island living. I booked the house for me and family for my daughter’s wedding at the inn and was thrilled with my choice. The ancient Volvo included helped us navigate the island while comfort of the home drew us in. Honestly, I think I could spend the summer enjoying that spot. I highly recommend this home. And btw, the owner is very responsive which is a huge plus!
We were traveling to Chebeague for a family wedding with 3 couples, a 5 year old and a 10 month old baby. Our stay was, simply put, just fantastic. This home is beautifully set on the waterfront overlooking the Casco Bay with access to a rocky beach from the backyard. My 5 year old loved riding in the kayaks which were stored directly on the beach. The deck was my favorite place to enjoy morning coffee and there were plenty of blankets to keep warm in the chill of the Maine mornings. We had family dinners every night, including a lobster dinner which we cooked outdoors using the lobster cooker. The location was convenient to the Chebeague Island Inn where the wedding was located. It was also less than 10 minutes to drive to the small grocery store. The rec center, which is located about 1 minute away from the house, has a pool and tennis courts. The lovely Two Birds Cafe is also about a 1 minute drive for breakfast pastries and sandwiches. The owners left their car for us at the dock, which we heavily relied on to get around the island. This was so helpful, especially when transporting kids and lots of gear, golf bags, etc. The only downfall is the WiFi is finicky on the island and in the house and you need to bring most things with you including the food you plan to eat, although the Inn has a great restaurant and bar which we enjoyed. Otherwise, we are hoping to come back to enjoy this gorgeous location again in the future! Thank you Anne for all your helpful advice and communication!
Chebeague is beautiful, and peaceful, and this house was a perfect place to spend a few days taking it all in. Incredibly friendly, responsive and accommodating. I can't wait to come back!
Our family has outgrown my parents’ house so we needed a place to stay for our summer vacation on Chebeague. Anne’s home was beautiful, well-maintained, and suited our needs perfectly. The kids loved running in the yard while the adults took in the gorgeous sunsets. Each TV had a number of streaming services, which was great, and most of the bedrooms had ab AC unit, which was a huge plus as it was warm and humid while we were there. We had a wonderful time. Thanks again!
We had a delightful stay on Chebeague Island! The house was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room and we enjoyed kayaking and swimming every day and reading on the porch!! Beautiful views abound!!
We spent a lovely quiet 5 days on the island. We discovered toy in the basement for our so. and played with the kayaks on the beach in back. We brought lobsters in for dinner and eat a great meal at the only hotel on the island. Easy access to Portland but its important to read about parking for the ferry from the mainland. This takes a few steps. Thats the only thing that could have been spelled out clearer in the listing.
We were two families traveling for vacation - we loved staying at this house! The waterfront access was perfect for dips in the water and kayaking adventures. The kitchen had everything we would need to cook for the entire group at every meal and the house was spacious for all to spread out. Only caveat is that the island has terrible reception and internet service so if you have folks who need that - choose another location on the mainland. Hope we can come back here again soon!
The house was even nicer than described. What a peaceful way to spend a week.
