We had a fantastic week in the castle. Our large family really enjoyed the large spaces, both indoor and outdoor. The pool was amazingly clean thanks to Gina who helped us every morning and we appreciated the depth of the pool as well! Vicky and Franka were incredibly helpful with everything from understanding the facilities to recommendations around the area. The olive oil from the farm was really really good! We wish to come back again!

Congratulations for the owners of the Strozzi villa in Montaione, the house was amazing, everything has been done to make our stay perfect! The mom of Vicky, was introducing us with so much kindness and she told us about the history of the family castel . We spent a wonderful time with our kids and grandkids and all of us were so happy to be there.... The view was amazingly beautiful and peaceful, the house had all the conveniences wished, every room has his history, it was really wonderful and Vicky the best host we could wish..... The region is also exceptionnal, not far from Pisa, Sienna and Firenze and we enjoyed everything.... I’m looking for negative points but I don’t find any.....and if I could I would give the house and the owners a 12/10!!! Thank you so much Franca and Vicky for the nice hospitality you gave us......

I’d like to start out by saying Vicky, and her mother, who lives on the property, were lovely and engaged hosts. Vicky was very responsive and helpful in the half dozen exchanges we had before the trip, and very prompt on WhatsApp while there. The historic house is full of cool artifacts and details, as well as a few updates. There is no air conditioning anywhere in the house! Not a problem for morning or evenings, but can be during the day and with windows shut at night. The positives further include a gorgeous, although remote location, plenty of space to hang out, two refrigerators, and all the dishes and linens you could possibly need. The negatives: the remote location means it takes about 20 minutes to reach on a winding, steep, dirt trail. Not anything you want to attempt in the dark, so we were all stuck there from 8 pm onward. And leaving, once you’d arrived, was not an exciting prospect! Mobility: if you have ANY mobility issues at all, this is not the house for you! Not realizing there was a long, steep, walk up to the house besides the 8-9 steps shown in the picture, as well as additional flights of stairs to get up to all of the bedrooms but one, I booked the house. As I was traveling with four people with limited mobility due to age, this was definitely an issue! The fact that this was not stated is an oversight by the owners, and could have potentially ruined our trip because of a fall or similar. The insects: My room was fine, but saw many ants and heard of other bugs in other rooms, especially the kitchen and front top floor bedroom. The house is open throughout the day, but should really be sprayed before guests come in, as well as instructions left regarding this issue. My stepmother’s room was covered in little beetles daily, which I only learned on our last day. She stated that she had to kill 20 or more daily while there! Finally, while many of the bathrooms have been updated nicely, the first floor bathroom has not been. It had no shower curtain, so every shower wet the entire room, and there was a very strong smell of sewage present. Again, we were 11 people, and I only learned of this on the last day. I made no mention of these last two issues to Vicky, because it was so late in our 8 day stay, but I assume she’d have taken care of the problems that were treatable promptly had she known. I do recommend this listing, as we enjoyed our stay, but am obligated to share the issues we witnessed while there.

This is the third time we have been to this villa in Montaione and we have loved it each time. It's beautiful, in beautiful country, and an ideal place both to relax in and also as a base to visit the nearby towns and villages of Tuscany. The owners are extremely hospitable, and it's perfect for a large party, with loads of space for all. We hope to be back yet again next year.

Four couples stayed at Villa Strozzi in early May. We were so glad we found it on the Internet – it is a treasure. I highly recommend the owner's offer of a welcoming dinner - just what is needed after a long trip and the food and wine was excellent. The Villa is the perfect base for trips to all of the main towns of Tuscany, including Florence. The owners and staff could not have been more attentive and made the stay feel as though we had found out own villa. The Villa itself is a magnificent old building but with all the modern conveniences, including a wonderful swimming pool. The view are to die for. It is close to Montaione, a delightful local town with great coffee, shops and gelato. One of the treasured remembrances was a visit to the owner's daughter's farm where she provided afternoon tea and tasted her wonderful home grown olive oil. Can't wait to return.

Four of us stayed at Villa Strozzi the last two weeks of September 2015. Thinking about a villa in Tuscany, the Villa Strozzi was everything and more than we dreamed it would be. Communicating with Vicky ( Franca's daughter) when planning our trip, was so easy. She answered every question quickly and accurately and was happy to accommodate us. The villa setting is picturesque with gorgeous sunsets and countryside views, well maintained, in an ideal location as our home away from home and with our GPS easy to find. We felt very safe and secure. The bedrooms were large with comfortable beds. The ensuite bathrooms were large and modern with plenty of hot water and perfectly functioning utilities, and hairdryers. All linens were first class and beautifully laundered. The living areas were large and elegant yet homey. The kitchen was well equipped including a coffee maker, toaster, tea kettle, microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, two refrigerators with freezer compartments and best of all Carrera marble table and counters. We also had access to a laundry. The outdoor areas are beautiful and well cared for with huge pots of lime trees and flowers. Plenty of comfortable patio tables with umbrellas and a grill. The pool was beautiful and serviced daily. We found the villa chapel to be a lovely spiritual gift from another era and way of life which seemed an appropriate opportunity to give thanks. Franca, the gracious owner and resident was always available to help us with information and suggestions when needed as were the caretakers. We did request a typical Tuscan meal for our first night at the villa and what a wonderful and delicious treat it was; an ideal start to our visit! The family dog with her wagging tail was always the perfect ending to our daily excursions; always happy to welcome us home. Tuscany is truly a beautiful place but the memories closest to our hearts will always be of our time and our hosts at the Villa Strozzi.

We have been coming to the Villa for more than a decade now, and it is always one of the highlights of our year. Tucked away in the rolling hills of Tuscany, this remote villa features romantic vistas, charming rooms and a private pool amid an ambiance of understated elegance. It is a destination best suited for those seeking a quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle of the touristy towns of Tuscany, while being perfectly situated for easy day trips to those locations. Our most recent trip took place last May, when we visited with a group of extended family and friends (age range 4 years to 72). The villa has been updated recently: the bathrooms and kitchen have been overhauled with state-of-the-art amenities. The rooms are elegant, clean, spacious as can be. And the views are spectacular, with green hills and woods as far as the eye can see. The pool features a comfortable sun deck, and the patio areas provide ample room for outdoor dining. The owners are delightful hosts, and extremely accommodating. We love going there and cannot recommend the Villa Strozzi-Collgegalli highly enough.

i can't remember the exact arrival date it was August. We were a family of 5 and having stayed twice at another villa belonging to the family we knew it was going to be amazing and we were not disappointed in any way. Vicki is an amazing hostess, to say nothing of her culinary skills, I always come away inspired and because the kitchen is so fab it makes you want to come in from the beautiful outside and cook. In fact, we almost wished for bad weather so we could use the other rooms available, but the pool is so lovely thats where we were. The villa is superb, very clean, things like rubbish dealt with without you knowing, anything you could want, if its possible, it won't be a problem. This place is great for the unwinding holiday, also good for moody teenagers they can go into the pool room and get over it! AND to top it off there is a resident labrador what could be better.
