Keepers Cove is located just over the swing bridge on Barters Island. Here, the salty Back River tidal waters meet the Sheepscot River offering lovely views and an abundance of seabird sightings. Seals have also been known to make an appearance. Keepers Cove is very close to nature preserves, walking trails, waterfront vistas, Mill Cove Lobster Pound, Back River Boat Launch, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and is a short drive to the many shops, galleries, and restaurants of Boothbay Harbor.

Stayed Aug 25, 2025This was our first time staying in Boothbay. We loved our time on Barters Island. The house is very comfortable and clean. The dock and grounds are lovely. We rented kayaks and enjoyed exploring the area around the island. We visited nearby land trusts: Porter Point, Ovens Mouth, Oak Point Farm, and Florence Perkins Homestead. We recommend lunch at Newagan Inn and Cozy Dockside in Southport. Property managers were great, responsive and helpful. Thank you!

Stayed Jun 23, 2025House was beautifully decorated and well stocked. Garden and views were gorgeous. Very quiet and a short drive to town. Maine Botanical Gardens are just down the street!

Stayed May 13, 2025We had a great stay at Keepers Cove and enjoyed our time in Boothbay (our 7th visit). The house has everything you need for a relaxing visit and is well-equipped for cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner! A great spot for coffee or a drink on the deck with a beautiful view and lots of birds to spot. Wendy was super sweet at check-in and communication with Sea Maine was easy via text. We LOVED the heated floors in the upstairs bathroom and the bedrooms were comfortable. We're a family of four with two kids under 3 and they enjoyed the home as much as we did. We would love to come back.

Stayed Sep 26, 2024This cottage is as cute as can be. We appreciated the well appointed kitchen, as we cooked local seafood each night. The decor is just adorable- we especially enjoyed the tidal clock on the stairs going up to the bedrooms! Our favorite part was waking up early and going down on the dock with a cup of local coffee to watch the fog, or the tides come and go. Bonus: we bought fresh eggs a few doors down, and garlic from a neighbor around the bend. Star gazing is wonderful, right out your bedroom window! We didn’t want to leave. 10 out of 10!

Stayed Jul 27, 2024We had a fabulous time at Keeper’s Cove! The location was close to all Boothbay has to offer, but far enough to feel quiet and relaxing. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything you need. it was a wonderful week!

Stayed Sep 10, 2023This is a beautiful house for exploring the Boothbay Regio. Very close to the Maine Coastal Botanical Garden and beautiful hiking trails like Owens Mouth. The house has everything for the perfect lobster dinner, to bring home a steamed lobster or to steam your own.
