Groveland, California
Nestled in the wooded gated community of Pine Mountain Lake in Groveland, this quaint residence is the perfect home away from home. Aptly called “The Gate House” – just off PML main gate.
As soon as you pass through Pine Mountain Lake main gate, The Gate House is the first house on the left. Surrounded by tall trees and visited often by a herd of deer, our guests can relax & enjoy every moment of their vacation. Yosemite National Park Rt 120 gate is 25 miles away.
Living spaces are located upstairs. At 1300 sq ft, wood flooring throughout, the house has a spacious living room with a wood fired fire place. There are two bed rooms, each with a queen bed and twin bunk beds. The master bedroom has an attached full bathroom and walk in closet. The second full bathroom is not attached to the second bed room.
Kitchen is equipped with all cooking essentials – sandwich maker, rice cooker, microwave oven, blender, spices, tea pot, and coffee maker. Sugar, coffee and tea are provided. Dining with seating for all guests. Spacious deck with patio seating and charcoal grill.
Great location -very comfortable property, roomy, air conditioned, WiFi, 2 full bathrooms!! host answered questions promptly -
This is a nice home close to the entrance gate at PML. The home was clean and well Laid out. My only complaint is not about the home or the owner. There are two lanes to enter PML, one with key cards and the other visitors, even if the visitor has a placard showing they have already checked in with the security guard. The line for the visitor entry can get very long and it can take 20, 30 minutes waiting to get back into PML to the home you rented even though you already have a visitor placard. The line is there most every afternoon and evening.
Family of 4 stayed here mostly to tour Yosemite. The Yosemite entrance is bout 30 miles away, but this made for a perfect base camp and easy day trips. The home was clean the communication with the host & check was great. Pine Mountain community was nice - we did spend one afternoon at the beach at Pine Lake. No issues with being a rental at the gated community. The town of Groveland also had several resurants and a good grocery store just minutes away.
We loved our stay the house it self was in an amazing location. We enjoyed the lake and overall feel of the location. The house it self was a little dated and dingy but nothing that would make me not come back in the future. We saw a young buck a few time during our stay. Bed were not super comfy but it’s better than camping lol
It was a good landing spot for Yosemite vaca. Expect an hour to Yosemite valley but it was fine with us. Good value.
We wish that this property was closer to Yosemite.
The beds were comfortable, it had all the facilities we needed, and the owner was extremely responsive and friendly.
We enjoyed the house as our base for exploring Yosemite, about 30 min. drive to the park entrance. We found every thing we needed to make our stay comfortable. The house was clean and comfortable. Enjoying meals and playing cards on the deck was a great way to spend time together as a family before and after our hikes. We would stay here again. And thanks for the bottle of wine!
House location was nice. Home could use some updating. Cleaning before the guests arrive would be a good idea. Spray for spiders too. Add a toaster to list of kitchen items to purchase.
Me and my family enjoyed staying at your home for a few days. Our first impression was the cleanliness and how it felt so welcoming with the ac running already, we were so tired and hot from an 8 hour drive, so when we felt the cool ac we were all sooo happy. Our first day there was very nice and relaxing, since check in was at 4pm we didn’t have much to do but we decided to check out the beach and it was amazing. We ended up going there 2 more times. Our main reason for this trip was to visit Yosemite, it was an 1 1/2hour drive up there taking the 120 road. Yosemite was beyond beautiful, the trees, mountains, waterfall, and just everything it had to offer. We visited Yosemite falls, bridal veil falls, and walked a 4 mile hike to see the beautiful sequoia trees. We also got to see a bear cub, and deers in front of our cabin when we where out on the deck early morning. Our whole experience and stay was amazing and recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home. ?
The inside was just like the pictures on line but the outside need cleaning. The balcony especially. Thank you
